  1. Never used that one,,,I'm a Just Jap boy and love it. Cheers Neil.
  2. The initial understeer is what worries me,,,gts-t's don't usually suffer from that. It's certainly not the tyres,,, FZ's are great but your tyre pressures are way different than me,,,I use on a hot day 38 all round and constantly adjust them till I get it. Zebra's on drugs,,,no way is your diff contributing,,,no way. I'm running close to 0 camber on the rears and about 4.5 on the fronts from memory. Artz is right she needs to be lowered,,,big time. Just do little changes,,,or you will never know what fixed it. Cheers Neil.
  3. I finally finished my cold air box,,,it all went great until trying to make my R33 gtr snorkel fit properly,,,lots of heating and bending took place and it's still not a 100% but I can live with it for the moment. The reason I made my own and didn't buy one is they are all made for street cars that still use the carbon canister which has a big cutaway at the front. Mines made of 3mm fibreglass sheet and covered in stinger roadkill sound and heat deadening insulation. The deadening was supplied by my good friends at Metrosound in Artarmon http://www.metrosound.com.au/ and I recommend them for anybody looking at stereo upgrades. If you look closely you will notice all the allen bolts are blue anondised aluminum and as usual my fetish for carbonfibre has extended to making washers as well. No sense waisting off-cuts. My next box will be made totally from carbonfibre but the funds are not going there at the moment. I really need bigger injectors and a turbo upgrade. Anyway here's some pics of my latest creation:- Cheers Neil.
  4. I've been stuffing around with my cold air box and thought what the hell am i going to do with this hole which used to be a factory intercooler inlet,,, So after a bit of thinking and a little trip to Bunning I thought why not buy these bits, They cost all of about $15 bucks. Bit of a mock up fitting and another easy pessy air intake, It's far from finished,,,as I think I should put some mesh over it,,,just to stop the gerbils from getting in but this took stuff all time,,,not like trying to re-fit my R33 GTR snorkel to the top of the box,,,that's still a work in progress.
  5. Yep they do look flashy,,,but you know me by now,,,they have to fit perfectly. Remember I'm anal so the caliper has to sit perfectly in the middle of the disc. I machined up some spacers tonight but I don't think I got them right. Someone has built the dog-bones beautifully so it's just a matter of me making the whole package work to my liking,,,I don't want un-even pad wear or pad knock off big fella. Time and work will tell if I actually use them. Cheers Neil.
  6. Hey James,,,while you are making a new front spliter why don't you somehow incorporate another pair of canards into it. Here's a pics of my Radicals front splitter mate. Since that pic I have added the black lips on the top canards to the bottom as well and I noticed the different in downforce. Cheers Neil.
  7. Thanks Charles,,,I'll keep your offer in mind,,,you should pm me your phone number,,,I might need them on the 4th of July. I might have to start looking for another set of rims for wets,,,as I'm going to keep my Federals as spares and I am going to buy a set of Kuhmo V710's or V70A's before the Nulon Nats. Cheers Neil.
  8. I've started making my custom cold air box,,,finished the side section,,,all it needs now is some dynamat and some rubber beading to protect the hoses from chafing. I'm using 3mm thick fibreglass sheets which in themselves is a great heat insulator. The top is a little harder because I still want to use my GTR factory snorkel but I'll get it all done over the next week or two.I'm also looking at a 2nd air supply from the bottom and I bought of all things some 90 degree pvc rain water down pipe and an adaptor, Here's some pics I have also started trial fitting Fatz's AP Caliper kit,,,330mm GTR discs with old school AP calipers's and dog bones. I'm have a small issue with getting the caliper to line up smack bang in the middle of the disc and I have spent quite a few hours working it all out but I'm getting there. No clearance problems with my 17 inch Weds though,,,they clear easily and I think I could run bigger discs and calipers. Even if I don't actually buy them,,,I will have worked for Pete how they actually fit. Here's some pics so far That's enough for now,,,still got lots of shit to do before the Nulon Nats on the 4th of July. Cheers Neil.
  9. Stop with the idle threats big boy,,,I'm not going down any time soon. To be fair you only got 4 laps in so maybe just maybe you might have beaten me.
  10. Hey Matty is it a gts-t one,,,I'd love to take it off your hands and get it rebuilt,,,that way I'll have a spare and not have to disable the car while waiting. The hammer wasn't needed mate,,,she's still is recovering from a broken foot and didn't want to aggravate it,,,tipical girl. Did I tell ya I beat fatz's GTR in the rain,,,by 2 seconds I thick,,,sucked in Sweet-cheeks. Cheers Neil
  11. Well what an interesting day,,,rain rain and more bloody rain,,,It's getting bloody annoying. I really wanted to see if the rear cradle alloy bushes made a difference but that just didn't happen. Old mate fatz had problems and so did James which disappointed me greatly,,,Ben chickened out at lunch time so that just left Easto and I to play,,,shitme dead Easto's cars quick,,,even in the rain. My poor old federal fz201's in the rain are shit,,,I had to let some really crappy cars past me,,,3rd gear light ups on the straight was getting scary. Still Cheryl came home in one piece as usual and now on to the next meeting which is the Nulon Nats on July 4th,,,again at Wakie. Funny enough I still have a slightly travelling brake pedal,,,so I've borrowed Fatz's AP caliper kit just to see if they actually fit. I really should change or re-build my brake master cylinder as Duncan well pointed out as it is the only thing I haven't recoed yet. I'm well into making my own cold air intake at the moment,,,I'll take some piccy's over the next few days and post them up. Cheers Neil.
  12. Sucked in bitch,,,all your 4wd,,,rubbish kilowasps and rubbish E85 didn't help you one little bit,,,did they. I went faster than you in the rain and Cheryl's still running perfectly. Oh I went faster than you on a drying track as well,,,oh that's right you went home with your tail firmly between your legs didn't you sweet cheeks. Cheers Neil.
  13. Fair enough big fella,,,but maybe just keep an eye on your mirrors tiger,,,all three of them. Cheers Neil.
  14. Thanks Ryan for the phone call,,,learnt heaps mate. Turns out my solid mounted diff is out of an early Silvia. Anybody got a S12/S13 auto diff laying around they don't want or just the crown wheel and pinion?. I'd bought these ages ago from my good friends at Just Jap. Then I bought full alloy solid mounts off ebay and loaned them to a fabricator who shall remain nameless to copy and never saw them again,,,go figure. So tonight I thought I would start fitting these ones,,,expecting it would take 2-3 nights work,,,1 and a 1/2 hours later all in. Yee hah,,,still I'm going to try and find another set of full solid puppies but these will do for the time being. Off on Monday to Wakie again,,,this time with big girl fatz,,,so it should be good to see if I can even keep up with him. Shitme I'll be trying really hard this time. I'm also hopefully taking my 17 year old neighbour for some happy laps and to see if she's happy at speed. If she is I'm going to start looking at putting her in the drivers seat. I'm also taking my biggest hammer just in case anybody gets any ideas. Cheers Neil.
  15. Hey Ryan,,, I'm running a nismo locker 4.08 solid mounted puppy at the moment. Stupid question because sometimes stupid questions need to be asked,,,how the hell do you tell the difference between,,,1.0 way/1.5 way ect. I've only ever had my old original open spinning diff to compare it to. Cheers Neil.
  16. Yes that is absolutely correct my favourite hunk of manhood. Something about Cheryl's arse-end stepping out everytime she comes on boost frightens the bloody shit out of me. See you next weekend at wakie for some good track day laps big fella. Cheers Neil.
  17. Hey mate I'm already on 234/45/17's and now have 2 sets of Weds,,, so no way am I going to change wheels. I have my old open diff sitting here that is longer,,,I might look at shimming the old girl up. Duncan had great success with getting his shimmed. Is your 4.08 up for sale???. Cheers Neil.
  18. Great to catch up again mate,,,you big family man you,,,. Bloody rain,,,I hate it. Cheers Neil.
  19. Thanks mate,,,glad you liked it,,,It's been a long enjoyable road and it is far from finished. Cheers Neil.
  20. I'd have to disagree Badgaz,,,I've seen heaps of cars running it and not one has exploded into flames. I think if it's done properly there will be no problems at all. I've just converted my radical to that system(not steel outer braided though) and I feel a lot safer than using simple hose clamps. Adz check out these guys,,,I buy all my hoses and fittings from them and they are cheaper than earls ect. www.phenixindustries.com.au Cheers Neil.
  21. It would be great to catch up on old times tiger,,,no beer during proceedings remember but pack up beers are always on the cards. Matty tells me the weather is going to be a bit iffy,,,Huntley in the rain sounds very scary. Cheers Neil.
  22. Whoops,,,Yes you are very correct my good man,,,Sunday it is. Coming to say hello tiger,,,it's been a bloody long time. Brock had them fitted to his GTS-T which sparked my interest,,,but he only got to do one session because of turbo issues. What a bummer that was. Dale,,,I have also read that thread about the GK's and there's no way I'm machining my calipers to make them fit,,,that's just bloody stupid. I would have liked to have read that thread before seeing them on Brocks car so i could have asked more questions but I didn't. Colin was telling me his kit has been engineered and fits properly. His kit which I think sells for $950 includes DBA Discs,Pads and the Dog Bones. Email him at aldredengineering.com.au for his complete run down mate. Cheers Neil.
  23. My water temp never goes over 100 and my oil temp never goes over 105. I'm running a chinese radiator/standard thermostat and a chinese remote oil cooler. That said I no longer have the restricive air cond condenser blocking the radiator. Hope that helps Neil.
  24. Nope Charles,,,I think I need more power and I need boost to come on sooner. Yavuz will have to have a look at that. Down the back straight at Wakie I was maxing out in 3rd at 7300,,,way before the 100 metre marker and 4th was usless so I removed the rev limiter and ran her to 8500. That seemed to work,,,but maybe i should start looking for a longer diff at that track. She ran faultlessly all day,,,no blow-by, which I expected,,,she just ran and ran and ran. My only other issue is now my brakes,,,while they feel great I'm starting to get a ever so slightly longer pedal after 3 hard laps. Colin from Aldred Engineering had maybe a good solution,,,he has a kit that still uses my factory calipers but with a bigger disc and dog bones. I'm going to enter this coming Saturday's hillclimb at Huntley,,,should be fun. Cheers Neil.
