Can someone please explain to me why and how the "Friends" stuff works???. Some user that I have no idea who he is has added me as his friend. That Nismo one is pretty damn cool mate !!!. e-bay has some really cheap rubbish ones on there so I'm thinking I'll buy another quick release and use it to move the car around. Definately going on the Skyline,,,the Radical has a very sweet little number (260mm) with a real race car release. I have some pics I think,,,yes here you go The 2nd pic shows the spacer I had to make so I could get the wheel closer to me. I was getting wrist soreness very badly and after speaking to Malcolm Oastler at bathurst he suggested I do it. Fixed my problem straight away. Time for an update,,,Saturdays work consisted of getting the drivers seat rail sorted,,,after a lot of measuring,,,cutting and finally welded I got it finished. The seat rail was originally setup for my old daytona seat but the sparco seat mounts are in a different spot and as I have to fit 3 different length humans in her,,,I moved it a little more forward than usual. Hope Kel fits!!!. That took up most of my day and I'm happy to say the car will break before the seat mounts do,,,. Painted the rear tow hook and mounted it,,,nice easy glory job to finish the day off,,, before getting on the piss with the boys at a certain persons engagement party. It was great to sink some piss with the Handleys and Jenna/Fatz,,,talking shit all night,,,was a great night thanks Lisa and Brad. Sunday turned into a bludge day,,,all I really did was setup my rear shocks and search the net for more gear,,,bought a sheet of carbon fibre which I was going to use to mount gauges but now I'm going to make the radical a new dash. Pics are rubbish because it's covered in plastic. Did lots of sleeping so I could get up early and watch the Daytona 500,,,pity non of my fav drivers did any good,,,Juan got 6th,,,Stewart got 13th and Marcos as usual got mixed up early in a big smash and ended 37th. Here's a little vid of me in an M3 under controlled conditions. Once a year BMW take all the Master Parts Advisers and Service Master Tech's away for a weekend of fun. This year was E/C,,,we did track work,,,khana's,,,abs testing and go-karts. Oh and free food and lots of piss. This vid was made using an apple 4,,,handheld by my passenger,,,excellent quality. Yea I have to agree with what the boys have posted mate. The trouble is what do you do when you only have limited supply of tyres and a limited amount of time. In the Radical (on slicks) at supersprints I go out last and just trundle around for the 1st two sessions and then on the 3rd session I make sure I go out 1st and smash the shit out of them. The trouble with that though is the tyres will not be at their best ever again. But it is very important to at least be nice to them on the 1st run. Hillclimbs are much harder to do,,,as you should be on the softest tyre you can possibly get which just makes the whole process much harder. I think it's also important to actually look after your tyres as well,,,I'll try and clean as much crap off the tyres as possible after every run and clean the crap out of them when I get home. You should also lower the pressures and keep them as cool as possible when not in use. Well thats what I try and do,,,hope it helps. Cheers Neil.

I borrowed handles headset and portable radio so I could have a play with it,,,now I'm no expert on this stuff but so far every bit of this kit looks quality. Nothing is light weight crap it all seems to be heavy robust equipment. Hope it works as good as it looks. Took some pics of both,,,. Some interesting features included,,,it has 2 PTT's,,,one in the cable with volume adjustment and one on the headset. It also has an extra plug on the cable which you would presume is for a different radio. """Well I was just thinking, I could make the offer of walking around pit lane looking all important and testing your pit lane comms...""". How does that work tiger,,,I fit it,,,you test it. Not much fun at the moment Charles,,,this heat is slowing both of us down. Great to see you are looking at a dedicated track/race car. If you get stuck or need to know something,,,I'm only a pm away mate. Got my painted and repaired bits back and the falcon got her rust cut-out. Unfortunately my m-spec lower lip is un-repairable,,,so I'm going to have to find a new one,,,bummer. Fords are rust bloody buckets,,,both it and Cheryl are 96 models,,,Cheryl has no rust whatsoever,,,but the falcon is suffering in small spots everywhere. Doesn't look like carbon fibre anymore It was time to decide on a pair of seats,,,I was after steel framed ones and finally choose these. A little bartering with Joseph at Revolution I got these seats,,,a pair of aluminum mounts and 6 roll cage tubes at a great price. The great thing about these particular seats is they are bottom mount and side mount. So I can use the mounts on the side to install them directly to the passenger floor permanently and the drivers seat can use my adjustable track. Much thanks to Matt and Mark for the offers of seats,,,but the price I got for everything was excellent. No chance of work today,,,Saturday's sweating was enough. Think I'll sit here,,,do some research and drink beers. Something I forgot to mention when Brad did my cage which was really cool,,,he welded up my clutch and brake peddle boxes,,,Nismo style. I too attended the Jan 30 group. Found it highly informative,,,well run and I learned heaps. I didn't go to actually learn how to tune my car (which I can now),,,I went so I can look over my tuners shoulder and know exactually why he's doing the changes he's doing or more importantely questioning why he's doing said changes. More stuff is off to landfill,,,the carpet is gone. The mats I kept,,,but not after this weekend. All my seats are going as well,,,I was going to buy a rear seat and use the material to fix my drivers seat hole using the original material,,,but that plans long gone. Alls good mate,,,speaking of dry sumps,,,I rang ASR today,,,$850 bucks. Looks like I'm making my own or if that fails I know someone that can make me one. My poor tow car needs some rust cut out,,,so it's off tomorrow to get that fixed,,,I could do it myself but it's a great opportunity to get Cheryl's front bar and lower lip fixed and painted. He can paint my carbon boot lid and while he's at it give me extra paint for the interior. I'm quessing but would 2 litres be enough for the cage and floor?. Cheers Neil.
