Thanks Handles for giving up your Monday night to help put Cheryl to bed. It's now raining so we did well. Thanks Mr weather. A big thank you to Brad,,,nice work mate. I looked and looked for a fault,,,found none. After the boy's left I spent 1/2 an hour sitting in her,,,dribbling,,,great cage. A little prospective here though,,,This was a joint effort between the pair of us,,,theres no way you can do what Brads done without customer imput. What I am saying is do your homework,,,sit down with your builder and talk,,,. That lower harness bar took many phone calls to get right and in the end Brad got it perfect. Check out how close the "A" and "B" tubes are to the actual body,,,bloody excellent work. Duncan's 6 foot 3 inches actually fits in her using a standard GTR seat and it wasn't that hard. I'm going to bed a happy man. Cheers Neil.

Unfortunatly Chris we have about 2 weeks to make the R32 ones happen,,,. We need 4 deposit paid screen orders very soon. I'm paying for two and Fatz is paying for his one or maybe I'm paying for his depending on him as well,,,so we need at least one more. Cheers Neil. -
Skyline Heated Front Screens, R32 At This Stage

Interesting question on the price there Ben,,,I didn't think about the gst content in the deposit,,,so I'm thinking the price is either 524.50 or 544.50. I will find out later today. Del would be up for answering the element question better than me,,,personally if I had to,,,I'd cop the V8 stupid cars one,,, thinner wire would be better though. Cheers Neil. -

Yea just the stockies mate. Cheers Neil. -
Some of you might know that I am converting my R33 GTS-T into a targa spec race car and one thing very high on the list was to remove all the heater and air-conditioning. Now that’s all well and good but after looking after Mark’s car at Targa Tas last year and Duncan’s at a very very wet Eastern Creek last round last year there is no way you race competively without a clear screen. So through my build thread I found Del. Del has been a racer and around racing for longer than most of us have been on this planet. It’s a very small world sometimes as it turns out I have been in conversation with him at every race meeting we both attend. He also knows a number of long term members here as well. So basically what he is looking for is interested Racers that would like heated front screens. I have confirmed orders for 3 x R32 screens,,, but quite frankly at least 4 is needed for production to start. Unfortunately R33 or any other Nissan are not on the map at this moment,,, but with interest they should be available mid year. I need to get Del a sample R33 one to send to the UK as a sample. Here’s some relevant information from Del’s email I received. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Escort MK 1 & MK11,,,Datto 1600,,,HO / XY Falcon,,,Torana XU1,,,Cortina MK 1 Porsche 911 1968 – 1989,,,HQ Holden No joke seriously !,,,Mustang ( Early models ) BMW ( Various ),,,Commodore ( Various ) Screens are available for all various vehicles like Evo 1 – VI, but as yet not the Evo X ( but available in a little while ) and a number of other models inc Subaru GC8 and the R32 GTR . Also RX7 BMW and some Honda models etc etc. With time a number of popular Holden and Ford models will be available in soon. Details on spec's etc : After attending Bathurst support races at the 12 Hr earlier this year, and seeing the demise of so much racing, due to the horrendous rain. It again re-in-forced the benefit’s of having a heated screen so I looked into the supply again especially for the Evo I'm building as it shares a common screen with the Lancer. I have already placed a firm order, so if there is any interest for additional screens I can add to, this will remain open for approx two weeks at the latest, at which time the order will close. These are obviously laminated, using full light green tinted glass without the common heavy top tint band like some screens ( Made to current European standards ) They are 4.96 mm thick, have multiple zig zag micro wires up and down with what appears to be one bank / element but is actually two, with a small 5 - 6 mm gap down the centre. Although you can see these, visibility is considered normal, they are also internationally E marked ( ECE 43R )so legal for ADR ( Not that that matters for racing, however would be suitable for registered cars competing Tarmac Racing type events ). I'm having these made by a respected company ( Trading for many years ) They are contracted to a number of kit car manufactures for their screen supply, and a number of OEM too inc Ford Europe. Further .... I requested a number of things from the technical guru within the company to clarify data of the screens i.e. what actual size are the Tungsten Micro Wires in the heating element banks installed in the screens, on each side ( 17 - 22 microns depending on model of car ), do they go right across the screens to the edges, ( very close to the sides ) the heat up / defrost time in seconds or minutes in adverse conditions, ( I'm told something like 2 mins for full vision if covered in heavy frost / ice ) Amps required from what I’m told while in use. ( Approx 12.2 amps while in use ~ amp ( On say an RX7 ) relay required ? This is one area where my bum knows more about duck shooting, am out of my depth understanding wiring, so I am advised the following verbally from what I wrote down is basically what is below. This is up to the individual as when installed in current model road going Ford Europe, and some models including the Land Rover series, the screen is obviously controlled by the factory ECU ) So it is advised / recommended to have them relayed and run for a max of 10 mins continuos, where then it’s recommended to leave off for around one minute, anything after that should be again controlled through a switch /relay etc. Manufacturing / lead times upon payment in full has been received .... ( I'm told to complete any order in 3 - 4 weeks once final order is placed ) As stated - Deposit required for any model ~ $200 upon ordering …. Sorry This has increased from the original quote as manufacturing costs have risen over the last 12 months. Fixed Total Balance of $295 + GST won't be due till arrival. Interstate delivery can be arranged as I am happy to box / crate screens personally and deliver to depot of your choice in Sydney as I go there twice a week. Alternatively I can pack and have a courier collect on your behalf. Insuring the package is your choice and responsibility, but highly recommended to avoid diss-appointments as I cannot be responsible if damage occurs during transportation. Having said that I may be able to have delivered to certain interstate areas for free or next to nothing, being piggy backed with screens I'm already sending interstate. Data of element positioning etc: Black line indicates the wire layout / design which surrounds the screen enclosing the elements / banks ( Two ) Attached here is a quote from my supplier as it may interest some who understand ! …. Here’s an example of how the touring/racing car screens are made up. The electrical data is ‘per side’, I try to keep the power density to around the 3.5-4.5W/dm2 because any lower and the performance is not so good and any higher and you risk getting a hazy view when in use. This is all dependant on the windscreen in question, size and shape affects it quite a bit. The wire on the right side of the drawing is used as the earth strap; the other two are the power supplies. Conditions Of Purchase : If I am unable to supply the screens within a given time frame, due to any issues out of my control i.e. strikes or customs hold ups etc, and this genuinely creates a problem for you. I am happy to return your deposit in full, but if just a change of mind on your behalf happens, the deposit is non re-fundable .... Sorry However I must stress that “ I'm given a manufacturing time and can only give my word on someone else’s. “ Once your preferred method of payment for the screen has been made ( I’d prefer an EFT if poss ) ….. Kindly advise when a deposit has been made by email, and which payment method has been used, including your reference N’o. Bank : Acc : St George BSB : 112879 Acc : 428276665 Acc Name : Derek John Smith Amount Required : $200 Balance on arrival : As close to $295 + GST as I can make it. Should you need to call to clarify anything after hrs, my land line is best, I'm up till late most nights on my ( 10. 30 pm ) Phone Land Line : 02 4701 6498 Mobile : 0422 425 026 Crappo reception when inside better from the bottom of the garden with the gnomes - lol Email : [email protected] Paypal : [email protected] As of April / May there should be alternative payment methods, to accept payment with Visa etc. However a small charge may be included should you choose this method. Matt,,,I've been looking for a young virile man to one day take over looking after the Team Raceworx stable,,,are you up for it???. It's growing all the time,,,Marks targa 32,,,Duncan's 32 my 33 and Radical and maybe one day the 32 sports sedan. There are very few benifits unfortunatley,,,apart from lots of learning race car shit,,,but it's fun almost all the time. Cuddles and massive smiles from Mrs Handley when he wins are cool. You just have to be careful when the car stuffs up,,,she has a very grumpy side as well and so do I,,,have have been known to kick the car on the odd occasion. Duncan's a hard task master sometimes too,,,I heard you left off the valve caps,,,Bad boy,,,did he slap you for that. I still get in trouble on the odd occasion,,,last meeting I forgot to fix his window net,,,so I was a bad boy as well and got castigated and rightly so. Just next time, can we take a real tow car,,,screw you and handley,,,she mighten be the best in world but at least she lives at home,,,not like a certain leather seated,,,never going prima-donna. Chris,,,yea Brad and I are glued at the hip at the moment and it's looking great. Should be a great advert for his skills. What ever Chris,,,mx5 turbo,,,bring the bitch on,,,actually I know of another one other than in your build thread. Pm me if you want details. Mark,,,actually yes I could be interested in your seats,,,funny enough I'm a fan of steel seats. I've never liked how the back of fibre seats move around. Yes everybody it's me and I know they are strong but I like steel. Let me get the car back and then we can talk. Cheers Neil.

Nsw State Champs On Tv Wed 17 November, 7.30pm
Neil replied to Duncan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I find the NSW state rounds more fun to watch than V8 stupid cars. Most of the classes relate and they actually do some overtaking. When I have some time between Duncan's sessions you will find me checking out the other classes. I particular like the under 2L improved prodies,,,. Cheers Neil. -
Matt,,,you have no idea what you just put your hand up for,,,Like me on the GTR,,,you will get punished mate,,,but it's for a good cause. Mark,,,Thanks mate and I agree it is all looking good,,,you might be a little disappointed at the start though,,,she will be basically stock. I'm liking it Brad,,, it's coming together nicely. You still have a lot of work to do though tiger. How many fires have you had to put out so far???. I decided not to box in the crosses at the "B" pillar as helmets will need to go in the back on a net for touring stages and it would be a pain in the arse. I only ever wear high quality helmets so banging one against anything is a no-no. Looks like I better put the old hand back in the wallet again and buy,,,buy and more buy. I need to decide on seats and work out how to get Mr Handley's lankyness,,,Mrs Handley(22 today) shortness and me in there comfortably. Kel and I are sweet but 6 ft 3 will be interesting. Can someone cut and shut 3 inches off him. Richard,,,I spoke to Del for over 2 hours yesterday,,,bloody small world. Turns out I have been talking to the man at racecar meetings for donkeys years. He regaled some interesting stories about you actually. I'm just waiting for him to e-mail me the details about the screens and I'll post them up in the Motorsport section for any interested party's. Cheers Neil.
-
Yea you and me both Michael,,, Gotta love the FIA's touring car standard intrusion bars instead of CAMS 3 bar ugly stuff. There wouldn't be to many cars running this quality,,,check this FPR pic,,,it's Paul Dumbrell's V8 supercar,,,very ugly. Cheers Neil.
-
Thanks for the kind offer Matt,,,look out mate we may just take you up on it. Please don't tell me your considering a GTR cheater car,,,ha ha that rhymes. Handles isn't a madman,,,he just owes one of Nissans finest. 21 years old and they are still handing current cars their arses. Cheers Neil.

That would be a big no unfortunately my good man. World time attack I would think will be her 1st real hitout and I still won't have played silly buggers with horsepower. Cheers Neil.

Titanium Exhuast R33 Gtr/gtst - $800
Neil replied to HKS26T's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Steve pm me your details and we'll have a talk mate,,,or ring me on 0419160561. If I don't answer,,,leave me a message and I'll ring you back. Cheers Neil. -
I don't think she's cursed,,,nor does she need an exorcism,,,what she's needed was tender loving care which she has not seen for a while. She been getting plenty of it in the last 2 weeks let me tell you two boofheads. We started at about 2.30 and finished at 9.30,,,got all her under-belly done which was cool and for once I left happy. I've left a message with the windscreen guy but I'll bet he's like almost everybody else and is still on holidays till next Monday. I'll ring him again on the 10th if I don't get a reply sooner. Cheers Neil.

Go easy on her,,,she's really is a good girl,,,She's been through a lot. I like to remember the good times. This one always brings a smile,,,. Or this one
-
So we have 4 possibly 5 heads on screens without leaving this thread,,,time for me to ring this man. No better time than tomorrow. I'll post what said on thursday as tomorrow night I have a appointment with a purple and yellow gtr. Cheers Neil.
-
Damo,,,I was sort of hoping you might pipe up about the turbo,,,thanks mate. I was going to just pm you and ask but I thought that a little rude. An invite to do so is very nice,,,Thanks. Brad,,,nice work tiger on the front screen,,,currectly we have interest in 2 x R33's and Duncan's interest in an R32. I might have interest in another R32,,,but not confirmed yet. We can play the group buy thing if you want,,,but it would be your baby,,,not mine. We would have to assume Richards contact is the same contact,,,Yes???. General group buy section,,,No,,,motorsport section,,,absolutely. The tank I'll have tiger,,,why oh why you don't have the mounting bracket is a pain though. Thats enough typing for now,,,I need to clean my finger nails again,,,bloody work tomorrow. BMW clients might start to think I work on cars. Cheers Neil.
-
Yea I'm with the Sav-man,,,lots more info needed before I would consider spending money on 2nd hand electronics. Thanks for the heads up by the way Ryan. Cheers Neil.
-
Well it turns out that this harness is a factory accessory. It's part of a kit called "light reduce" that was fitted to my car in Japan. I have no idea what it does,,but its gone now.Seems Cheryl was highly optioned.
-
Matt,,,I have 3 choices on turbo's. 1/ Stock as a rock 2/ Stock high-flowed 3/ Cheat and use a GTT which looks the same on the outside but as you know bigger on the inside. Think I'll go with number 2. Yea Ryan,,,a 2nd head is very cool,,,now I have something to play with,,,and I will be playing,,,. All this stuff is cool,,but what I actually need is the heated front screen. Richard are you reading this post. Cheers Neil.

It's going to be an interesting job cutting out my intrusion bars without damaging the paint. I'm thinking its about time I bought a small air cutter and using my dremel. Really didn't do a lot of work on the car this weekend,,,just mainly cleaning shit up,,,changed these top rear arm bolts to normal bolts,,,putting the wheels back on and hoping when I got the trailer built I measured properly and Cheryl fits,,,I was very nervous,,,if she didn't fit a new trailer would have to be bought. Oh I've been using the trailer as storage so I had to un-pack it in 40 degree heat,,,I'm quessing it was 50 + in the trailer. Thankfully she fitted but only just. I now need to make some more anchor points as the Radicals ones are in the wrong place. Raceworx Marky has donoted me an rb25 cylinder head which has some port work done and AN fitting welded on to the rocker covers from an rb30 engine he bought. Cool,,,I now have one I can play with before dry sumping her. Cheers Neil.
-
Ben,,,great to see your reading all this!!!. I've read all of yours. I'm going off THC rules at the moment,,,please point me to newer ones if you can. Adjustable upper arms sounds great. Duncan said exactly the same thing about the gtr body work,,,while you both are correct,,,I like my front end just way it is. Weight,,,thats always interesting,,,I beleive offical weight is 1390,,,mine when complied was 1370. If I can keep her under 1400 that would be great. It's funny we rip all the crap out of these cars and then start adding it all back. Cheers Neil.
-
Yep keep me posted Brad,,,it's all good,,,oh by the way Cheryl is not an "IT",,,she has feelings. R31's are IT'S. Cheers Neil.
-
Yes Duncan you are correct,,,Brad it is movable right now. No way am I installing my shocks while you have her,,,you might steal my spring rates. Sat/Sun and Monday,,,put the ice pipe down mate,,,3 days = NOT. Funny you ask about the dust,,,I received 1 x old stock (same as Johnny) and 1 x new stock,,,both all sealed,,,nice and new. Cheers Neil.
