Here's a link from my good Radical friends in yanky land. Radical or not,,,most of it still applys. Oh and a "Nic Link" is a basically a sway bar. http://socalpeeps.yuku.com/topic/1013/t/EZ-rain-setup.html Cheers Neil.

Charles,,,I'm more than happy to pm you my rates mate. I just don't want to post them in a public forum. Got a bit of work done this weekend,,,removed basically all the rear half of the interior. It's one thing to just go hell for leather and rip everything out,,,I took my time and tried not to break anything. Nissan are funny bastards,,,they screw the centre interior lamp in and clip the front one in,,,had me baffled for ages. The other this is where the hell to store all of it. I'm sort of planning to put as must interior back in the car as possible,,,how successful that is remains to be seen. You do have to give Nissan credit though,,,these cars are by far the best to pull apart,,,I didn't even break one clip,,,If you were doing this to most other brands you would be breaking trims/clips ect. Nice work Nissan. After fitting a Trust intercooler kit many years ago I've always suffered high water temps on track days,,,nothing stupid,,,but it was a pain. So an ebay search came up with this,,, $199.00 chinese 50mm core radiator and stuff me with a little work it fits.. It will not be staying,,,but will be a good mule as I will cross-flow it and if alls good I'll get a quality one made. It will be interesting to see if a bit of welding and moving the bottom hose will work. Removing the air cond condenser and fan would proberly fix it anyway,,,but I want to get to the stage where temps are controllable over extended periods. This pic shows the windscreen washer bottle that came with the intercooler kit,,,it's actually off a Suzuki rav4. I have moved it into the boot,,,quick switcho of the hoses and some wiring to be done. It came with a blanking plug for one of the pumps which I have to find. Cheers Neil.

It's great to see other guy's converting there 2wd cars to race spec. Personally I would like to see the mods and admins move ALL NISSAN RACE CAR conversions out of here and let us post in the motorsport section. While there are some cool builds happening in here,,, I don't think this is the appropriate section. It's easy,,,cage it and it's in the motorsport section,,,No cage and it stays in here. How did the thread get to stay in the motorsport section http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ld-t334929.html Charles,,,your road is much harder than mine and good luck with yours. (bolt in front half of the cage). That doesn't sound right,,,(a) shouldn't that be "rear half of the cage? and (b) keeping the ability to be street registered. I thought any cages in NSW were illegal,,,or have I missed something?. Spring rates,,,personally I don't think I want to spill my guts on that one. I get asked about Duncans GTR rates and I always point to him "Don't ask me,,,ask him". There was a reason for my slightly blurrey pics showing no numbers,,,and yes I turned the springs around anyway. I did my homework,,,as did my shock builder,,,lots of questions and lots of answers and lots of money.. Spring rates depend on human body weight,,,car weight,,,type of racing ect. I will have to purchase some more springs in the future though. Time to get off my lazy bum and start stripping the interior. Cheers Neil.

I bought these puppies off UK ebay for the Radical,,,turns out they fit the Bilsteins as well. Very happy indeed.

2012 is the plan mate. What worries me is rule changes,,,so my thinking is to get it done sooner than later. All the air con will be gone before Brad gets in there with his tubes and welder but I will be leaving the heater in it. After last weekend with Duncan at E/C and Mark last year at TT theres no way you can not run something. Snowman has a heated front screen,,,while that would be nice,,,try finding one for an R33. Cheers Neil.

That I will certainly do mate,,,I can tell you that I get discs at a great price. Something about being in the industry helps. "Break" would have been better Brad. I think between your ideas/thoughts/experience/welding and My anal approach to the same,,,Cheryl will have the best cage you have ever done. You have 4 weeks tiger to get what ever you have on ya plate sorted and I'll take holidays and buy you lunches. Thats the biggee,,,we need to co-ordinate. Ryan,,,this will be interesting then,,,I'm hunting for more power than you then.,,,My bad,,,I thought you had way way way more power,,,I need to do it with a standard albeit a high flow factory turbo one. I could cheat and run an R34 GTT turbo but I'm not into that. Imagine winning my class at TT and then being dis-qualified. I would never show my face on SAU again. You will be dissapointed to know that the Nismo arms are not adjustable,,,just another Targa rule. Yes they alter camber but very little. Cheers Neil.
-
Noddy,,,you are using hawk's,,,I use them on the Radical and they will be my 1st choice pad for testing. Brake fluid always annoys me,,,Agip is hard to get but great. No,,,you will not be seeing Cheryl anytime soon. She will be tested at length early next year,,,poor girl doesn't have a cage yet mate. Cheers Neil.

Yep right on there big fella,,,glad your thinking the same as me. Yes I will be running ducting. Here's a quick comparision:- BMW E36 M3,,,both 3.0 & 3.2 ,,,1460kg,,,discs 315 x 28,,,2 piston calipers,,,abs no better than R32,,,but a great brake package as standard. BMW E46 M3 ,,,1549kg,,,discs 325 x 28,,,again 2 piston calipers,,,abs state of the art,,,absolutely stops on a dime. Now no-one who has ever driven these M3's can say these are not by far 3 of the best coupes EVER made. They go,,,turn and stop like almost nothing else. R33 GTS-T 1390kg,,,discs 296 x 30,,,4 piston calipers,,,mine no abs,,,I think I can make her stop with standard calipers,,,good pads and discs. I will be using DBA discs exclusively,,,mainly because I can get them cheap but also because they actually work. Cheers Neil.

Troy,,, it's all good mate,,,the Radical is still much loved and will be thrashed accordingly. I weighed up throwing my wallet at it ,,,but quite frankly that would be a waste of money. My best time ever at wakie was 2 laps in the 1.02's on new tyres and perfect conditions. I'm usually in the 1.04's and at state rounds the 1st half of the field are punching out consistant 59's to 1.01's. Open sport car racing is a rich mans sport of which I am not. Chris,,,Ryans path started with big horse power and built his car around it,,,I'm going the opposite way. I will never have his crazy wheel spinning 400 + kilo's. Not that I dis-approve,,,it's fantastic sitting in the passenger seat laughing my arse off as he breaks the rear loose in 4 gear. Bloody insane. I just don't think thats the way I should go. Mel,,,I think is close to being on board now,,,she asked me the other night about re-regoing it. Poor love of my life spotted the shocks and decided it's all over for her and Cheryl,,,yes she has a name. Matt,,,Glad you liked the 1st paragraph,,,It had to be said,,,thats just a fact of life. While we all strive for the quickest mouse-trap on a limited budget,,,I think I'll be happy with my 50 year old heads thinking. Brake are an interesting one,,,our car has no abs,,,which I like and I will not be changing anything apart from pads until I've exhausted their use by date. My thinking is way to many peeps change calipers and discs because thats the done thing,,,me I'll play with the standard setup I have till I have to change. Sorry if that bores,,,but I do really think thats the way to go. Cheers Neil.

Yea Stephen it's funny Cams are like a government dept,,,very slow on the uptake and very little vision on the future. Cheers Neil.

Well the time has finally come where I had to decide on what to do with our GTS-T. We have owned it for 10 years now,,,we don't really drive it much anymore and I'll be stuffed if I'm selling a perfectly good straight car to some pimply just got his turbo licenced kid for 10 grand. No way not happening. My other little problem is the wifey Melinda,,,I have to somehow ween her off loving the thing. So my plan so far is to slowly make it rude and obnoxious. Step one was the diff, nothing beats the clunk of a Nismo locker. Step two were the wheels,,,she just hates the look of rivets or bolts holding the centres together. Step three will be the semi slick,,,again she hates the road noise they make. Next will be removing all the luxury items one by one. The rear wiper was an easy remove,,,pissed her off straight away. AASA have really opened the door to these cars,,,they make building one and racing it so much easier. I would never ever had entertained the thought of this without them. CAMS are so far behind the times it's a joke. Realistically I would have to build a sports sedan or improved production car which would be money for no fun at all. So I'm going to start building it loosely around tarmac rally specs with different mods for track days,,,rub racing,,,supersprints and hillclimbs but really with an eye on targa. While the Radical is great fun to drive and it will be staying in our household for a while yet,,,I really miss driving a tin-top. Duncan,,,you have a lot to answer for. Actually it's wasn't so much doing tons of laps in your GTR but more letting me loose in Kel's 350Z and me doing laps at Oran Parks last weekend in our Skyline that got me. There's something about wrestling a fat over weight car that I enjoy. So we basically start with a car that has very minimal mods,,,it has never had a boost increase by the way. 1/ Whiteline adjustable sway bars front and rear,,,they will be staying. 2/ FMIC 3/ Wow an apexi panel filter 4/ 5 Zigen cat back,,,no name dump pipe and a high flow cat 5/ Urethane radius rod bushes 6/ Cusco brake master cylinder stopper 7/ Front and rear strut braces 8/ DBA Front drilled/slotted discs and rear slotted discs. Cool mods indeed. So now it's time to open my very tight arse wallet and start buying stuff. It must be said right here and now that I'm not a massive fan of Japanese and Chinese aftermarket parts. Yes some will have to find their way onto the car but primarily it will be euro and local stuff. I'm not going to touch the engine or any drive line stuff until the suspension,,,roll cage and auxiliary stuff is on the car and sorted properly. Yes I know everyone wants 400 kilowasps but quite frankly that isn't going to happen. Somewhere around 280-320 would be much more to my liking. I'm more interested in reliaility/midrange and as much torque as possible. I have already opened the said wallet and so far I have 1/ Re-valved Bilstein height adjustable shock running Eiback spring with helpers. Nice bit of kit. 2/ DBA front slotted discs,,,my better judgement says I shouldn't run my drilled and slotted used ones which is interesting. As we know they should crack but after 3 track days they are still fine. Go figure.Gone anyway. 3/ Nismo front lower control arms and a full set for the rear. 4/ Chinese rose jointed radius arms. They can stay for testing and then an upgrade. 5/ Chinese engine oil cooler with filter relocation kit. Again testing and some of it can stay. Thats enough typing for now. Cheers Neil.

Well,,,while I would never give "Snap On" my money,,,I would never ever say they supply rubbish. You might have mechanics but my guys are high quality BMW technicians that love their tools,,,we have our "snap on/stahwille/gedore and Hazet loving boys. They will all argue with you till your black and blue in the face mate. 3 Germans and 1 yank. But THERE is another supplier now making a mark and they are Japanesse "Kokon". Repco don't make tools anymore my good man,,,these days they are just another supplier,,,you have sidchrome maybe???. Cheers Neil

No Duncy didn't blow up sweety,,,. Where were you???. Is your car permanently parked where it is??? you homo. The rude West guys in "Sports & Racing" may have to re-evaluate their parking arrangments tomorrow,,,but thats another story. Cheers Neil.

Was a good day for our SAU boys. Dave smashed them in Over 2L IP,,,top qual by a staggering 2.3 seconds and almost the same in race 1,,,I'm thinking he backed off though as he was creaming them. Nice drive mate,,,yes we watch you tiger. The little Starlet is one sexy car. http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....10/2010.ARDC.Q3 http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....10/2010.ARDC.R3 Duncan's day was as far as I'm concerned great. Qual was not that great,,,11th is probably his worst while I've been involved. But 11th to 7th in race one was bloody great!!!. I had a very stress free day for once,,,shit I only had to change wheels,,,do my usual checks and not much else. Temps were all good and the clutch actually worked and still is. Why the sky opened up big time an hour after his race was my only annoyance. I've made my list of to-do's. http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....10/2010.ARDC.Q1 http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....10/2010.ARDC.R1 Bring on Tomorrow Cheers Neil.

What I was saying is that I own original sidchrome and since the change of hands they will no longer warrant my tools. Pack of Arseholes. I didn't know kinchrome and sidchrome were made by the same company,,,but what I will say is kinchrome is better quality. Sparkies don't use spanner and socket type tools anywhere as much as mechanics,,, so your sidchromes will be fine mate. But I'll bet in years to come the only sidchrome you will use will be the tool chests. Isn't the apprentice tool system cool,,,you get tools for basically nothing. Cheers Neil.

Bigger,,,wider wheels needs more room,,,what better way to get room than rolling your guards. Most would pay somone,,,stuff that,,,i'm up for the challenge. Bought this,,, Cheers Neil.

Great stuff boys,,,good to see we work as a team to help out a fellow Skyliner. Wouldn't it be great if we could actually store these items somewhere for all to use. I have a snorkel that I can lend but I need it back. Cheers Neil.

I can help you with a stock intercooler. Give me a ring 0419160561 or pm me. Cheers Neil.

All this talk about Morgan Park is depressing me. Ryan,,,questions on what fuel system are you running if I may be so rude. Would I be correct in assuming you are using the factory pump as a lift pump and an 040 as the supply pump. Also what size is that surge tank?. Cheers Neil.
