Yea thats all well and good,,,but lets get our head around making a Stagea a good tow car. Don't get me wrong I love the Nissan product but the POS from a bankrupt american truck maker is always going to do a better job. I'll wait for ya mate at the rest areas. ROFLMAO x 10 Neil.

Nice little debate we have going here boys on under-body aero. I'm not going to post whos wrong and whos right because like all of us it's mostly bloody quess work and I'll put money the Japs are doing the same. Ben's right though,,,you really need a wind tunnel. What I will say is my Radical runs a flat floor 3/4's of the car and then tapers into the rear diffuser, here's a pic of an SR3 with add ons. Radical does use a wind tunnel so they must be doing it right. If you are not going to cover the whole under car then you must be waisting your time. From what I've read it's all about clean smooth air under the car and then the rear diffusor adds down force for the rear. Which brings us to another little problem,,,if you do the whole lot properly,,,it will be a pain in the arse to work on at the track and in your garage. The other problem is getting all that GTR heat out from under the car,,,I have spent many hours thinking how to do it to the "Raceworx" nugget,,,I still am undecided. Stuart,,,if Andrews logging it as a S/Sedan he can cover the whole lot. Andrew have you read Racecar Engineerings mags??? Duncan loaned me 1 months and I have another and I have to read the same friggin article 3 times,,,but I still don't quite totally understand what they are on about. Neil.

Gearbox Options For Motorsport Skylines

Of course you like that shift pattern,,,It the right way of doing it. No they don't ya big girl,,,I drink beer while Mel tows the car home. and besides we use an auto. Mine was great,,I loved it. After using and breaking 4 standard boxes,,,The needham was fantasic. Sure it's a slam into the next cog,,but thats what straight boxes are all about,,,the right revs at the right time makes it easy. I think I only ever used 2nd by mistake once. It was a 5 speed by the way. Neil. -

No you didn't,,,they were only those little voices in your head,,,again. Read the Sup Regs Paul,,,it clearly states that all 4wd's must not cut corners (to avoid bringing rubbish onto the track) and only 2wd's are allowed on the track in advent of rain. Neil. -
Gearbox Options For Motorsport Skylines

Is Needham an option???. I used one in my old Sports Sedan and it was great. Straight cut and smooth as for what it was. I liked the shift pattern to,,,1st was where 5th is in a line box (gated) and 2nd was where 1st is and so on. Neil. -
Bloody hell you qlders get away with rego murder. Where's the clearance lamps at the front and middle?. Neil.

From what I've learnt there are some basic rules:- 4wd's are by far the best and I'm mean real 4wd's not Stagea's. Dual cabs are crap as theres no room for storage and are easily broken into. IRS sedans and wagons are absolute crap to tow with. We tow with a EF falcon wagon,,,it's been great so far. Not the coolest thing in the world but it gets the job done. We fitted heavy duty gas shocks and air jackers to level out the combo. Our next towy will be a BA wagon when this ones past it's use by date. Neil.

Yes I have more vids but I'm not really into posting them up. Actually I have heaps but they will stay in my collection. I only posted it because you posted your fly-by. We can have some more fun at O/Park,,,I will find it much harder with that long straight though. You pulled about ten maybe 12,,,nah more on wakie's straight. Oh it's not an open wheeler by the way. Fuel Coolers? Who Knows Stuff About Them
Neil replied to DJRIFT's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Ben,,,on the Radical it's going where the vent is in the pic. I'm going to replace the vent with a little scoop. I'm hoping that Duncan's class rules allow for one as well. If they do I'd like it in the engine bay on the supply line. Skylines shouldn't have a problem with hot fuel,,,I'm quessing theres another problem. BUT cooler fuel means more horsey's so why not run one. Feel the fuel rail next time,,,man it's hot. Neil. -
Fuel Coolers? Who Knows Stuff About Them
Neil replied to DJRIFT's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I like the idea of fuel coolers and I'm going to instal one on my car. I personally think there's way to much under-bonnet heat and all this supplying and returning of fuel just generates even more. Here's some pics of the cooler I'll be using,,,It's out of BMW X5 diesel (E53 1st gen). Neil. -
+ me as well. It's damn easy to use and you can program in the different tracks. I love it. Only down side is remembering to grab the beacon at the end of the day. After an engine prob at Wakie I forgot mine but thankfully Michele grabed it for me. We might try sector times at Oran Park on the SAU NSW track day. Neil.

Yea thats a pretty damn good vid. Neil.

I'm pleased to see Radical's dominated in my absence. I had this very disappointed feeling all day Sunday. We were planning to go out and watch,,,but I couldn't bring myself to standing there watching everybody else having fun. Neil.
-
Nice work cleaning up the chassis rails mate,,,I was having kittens when I saw dirt. I've used PWR on 3 occasions with drawings and each time they came to me perfect. Must be because I'm a nice guy. Andrew have you thought about running a fuel cooler? Neil.
-
Absolutely Brad,,,way out of date,,,but after talking to my extingisher man (Yes I know someone) he said if the gauge is in the right stop,,,green from memory then it will work perfectly. I have to go to E/C on sunday,,,I'll ask Kerry Butcher about it. Neil.
-
Finally some pics Brian,,,about bloody time mate. It's fat little monster indeed. I almost bought that car some years back and stupidly bought the Capri. Brian is it still running the 13BPP with that filthy big 51mm weber with extended bowl?. Neil.
-
I was told last Sunday that Cams have changed their rules and there's no longer a use-by date on extinguishers. They apparently now are only interested in where the gauge sits and can hear the ball rattling around inside. I can't find anything on their web site,,,but thats not a real surprise. I'd love this to be a fact,,,because I really need to put my bomb system back in,,,the Radical being rear engined would be an impossible thing to put a fire out of. Has anybody else heard about this???. Neil.
