Bring it on big boy... You and your gay ABS. :usuck: :usuck: :usuck: Neil.

I'm using 300zx factory rear pads on standard discs. I use these for both street and track days. Excellent combo indeed. Little dust and work a treat. On the fronts I use EBC Greens with drilled and slotted DBA discs for the street. On track days I use Bendix Ultimates only because they are hard and cheap(would NEVER run them on the Street) with the factory discs. Jimx's comment are correct,,,Tragic cheap pad, best left for shitboxes. I am also running Braided brake hoses, Cusco Master cylinder brace and Motal Fluid. What about an out-braking competition, now that would be different and no I'm not running ABS. Neil.

R-Spec/Circuit Semi-Slick Tyre Prices?
Neil replied to Merli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Merli, thats an excellent price you got on the D01j's. I paid $350.00 a tyre for the same but 225/50 16's. Think I gotta barter harder next time. Neil. -
They would be talking about lubing Door,Bonnet,Boot Hinges and check straps plus some others I can't think of at the moment. Very important actually. Neil.
-
Morlock,,,if your standard shocks are in good condition you won't have a problem with track days. I would sugest you lower the car though. I'm still running standard shocks with Whiteline lowering springs and between track days I have change to adjustable sway bars. I'm a slow poke,,,not willing to push the car to hard and I do 2.05 to 2.07's at Eastern Creek,,,but last time I got Rod Markland to drive it and he went sub 58's with out even knowing the car. kidd,,,I don't mean to be rude,,,but do you actually know what you are talking about. A track car needs to be a bit on the soft side,,,remember we are talking street cars running on street legal tyres. Neil.
-
I'm with JimX,,,,no lubing is required. There's no real way of doing it anyway. Your not going to remove factory bushes,,,lube them and then re-install them. Whiteline recommend you use there lube when installing there sway bar bushes,,,but thats only because they move just a tad every now and then. All other bushes don't move as the bolts are up against the steel bushes. Neil.

Ha Ha Ha,,,Cecam,,,your Jag comments crack me up. Crap car indeed. Great idea but poorly excuted. I gota say I think the morosso one would be great,,,but that would have to be in the boot and not a good option for a street/track Skyline. The BMW one is looking like the goer at the moment. My Car will be on display at the Skyline NSW Show & Shine day in March,,,so if anybody's interested,,,just ask. gtsm,,,M3 CSL,,,Carbon Fibre Missile. Yes I have seen them,,,we have sold 3. I can't beleive the amount of work BMW go to make the M3 better,,,,. Carbon-fibre roof is so ricey. Sometimes I also wonder what one would be like without all the electronic devices that control the driver. I work at Canterbury BMW,,,do a internal e-mail search,,,you will find me. Neil.

gtsm,,, it would only have to be fuel hose buddy,,,,no need for pipes. Yes I do work for a BMW dealer by the way. Sydneykid,,,,that system would use dry ice wouldn't it. GTRman1992,,,more info please buddy. I have seen this system fitted to a BMW E30 318is running a supercharger,,,But for the life of me I can't work out how to get a before and after temp reading. Neil.

meshmesh,,,the hardest bit of installing it would be actually mounting the cooler itself. The hoses are easy as,,,,you just need to run a new hose off the fuel filter outlet and a new one onto where the old hose went. Jay and Dan,,,I can't see any reason why it would affect tuning. It's just a small version of an oil cooler,,,very non-restrictive,,,and it's fitted before the fuel rail and regulator. Dan sorry no I don't have a pic,,,just pop into a BMW dealer pull the bonnet on a diesel X5,,,,it won't take you long to see it. I can't see a dyno picking up on it. Next time you go for a drive,,,stop and feel the fuel filter,,,,it gets bloody hot. Neil.
-
gtsm you are spot on. X5 3litre Diesels use the same cooler. Two Part numbers 13322247411 or 13327792140. They are only available ex germany but thats only a 3 to 3 week wait. $138.07 + GST. Neil.
-
Okay,,,what if I told you that you can actually buy a fuel cooler, much like an engine oil cooler. Neil.

RB25DET Gearbox Removal
Neil replied to caminperth's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Let me suggest to you that if you don't know how to R & R a G/Box then you should really get a pro to do it. I also think you should post in the Maintenence Section,,,all boxes are basically the same,,,,just a matter of 2wd or 4. Neil. -
Jim and sewid,,,,You guy's are legends. I was going to buy the real extension lead, but this sounds like more fun. I just love a bit of DIY. Thanks Boy's Neil.

Just thought I would ask anybody if they had tried cooling their fuel before the fuel rail. Many years ago and I mean many,,,I used to build and prepare a Drag Commodore for the Castlereagh Dragway. I used to curve the fuel line into a mulitple circle type thing (like a Still) and run it in a container full of dry ice. It worked a dream. I know that Mazda's RX7's factory 12 hour team also used this method but they chilled the fuel before it got into the tank and as history goes they dominated. Could be something you Drags guy's could play with. Neil.

Couldn't agree more Duncan. As for an Auto versus Manual,,,the manual has to win but only if the cars a daily driver. Who in there right mind would want to drive around the streets with a 3500 stall converter. My neighbours got a 11 sec commodore and it's nothing but a pain in the arse. He actually loves my Skyline only because it's not revving it's head off ALL the time. Also BMW's SMG M3's while being an auto shifting manual are slower over the 1/4 than the H pattern version and a lot more troublesome. Neil.
-
NO,,,as soon as you disconnect the airbag in needs re-setting. Fact of life my man. Lifes a bitch hey. Neil.
-
As wrxhoon said,,,,either remove the fuse or disconnected the battery. I would have you dis-connect the battery myself. After that you can do what you like with it. It will not explode without voltage and thats a FACT. It's an electronic exploding device that is as lame as with no voltage. You will have to get someone that knows Nissan's to reset the light after you re-install it though. Neil.

Small pic but it looks cool buddy,,,got any bigger shots. Neil.

In actual fact we get more problems when we travel to the other side. I'm an ex eastern suburbs boy,,,,(no old bloke) and would never go back. We do the Bankstown Cinema alot and Bass Hill Drive-In. Monty just loves the Drive In's. Neil.
