obviously the Yellow Pages would tell me. It will also tell me where I can get a gardner or a hooker...... But I'm asking where I can get a RWC on a car forum where there are a lot of modified cars for a reason... Its actually not for my modified car. But a stock standard BMW. I just find wherever I go, the RWC places will ping me on something different expensive that they can provide the work on, whether it be new suspension arms or brake rotors, but the funny thing is if I go to a different place, they don't recognise the supposed "problem" that the other place happened to ping it on. I've been to three places now and they all want $1000 + for different repairs.

True, Anywhere around Melbourne

Just wondering if anyone knows any good places to go to, to get a RWC. Or if anyone is able to provide assistance.

What differences are there between the red top and silver top RB20 stock turbos? Are they both ceramic turbine? Did the red top come stock without a BOV?

180sx RB25 conversion, anyone done it?
S13 Silvia replied to wannaQik180's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sn00p on this forum is in the process of doing an rb25 into 180 conversion. -
Yeah if you are going from rb20 box to rb25 I'm pretty sure you don't need to modify tailshaft. It's only if you go from auto ca18 or auto sr20 to manual rb.
-
Yeah, what I was saying to work out the wires (under the hood), is to follow the old reverse light wires from your old auto gearbox if you changed to manual. Follow the wires from the old auto box upto where they would've plugged into under the hood.

Keep my Water/Air intercooler or get a Air/Air
S13 Silvia replied to S14Drift!'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Do you have any pictures of your water to air setup? Did you put it on yourself? What difficulties did you have with it? -
I don't know if this helps but with converting my s13 to a rb20 box, I disassembled the bit on the side of the old auto box where the stick comes down and triggers circuits and figured out what it did when you put it in reverse and then followed the appropriate wires and worked out which two were needed to complete the reverse light circuit (only two are connected when you put the stick in reverse)

Yeah, I had the same problem after my conversion. While doing the conversion, in an effort to work out why I wasn't getting ignition, I mucked around with the crank angle sensor and when I finally got it going, it was retarded so on idle, it would nearly cut out then rise then nearly cut out again, one of the first things I checked was the CAS and this solved the problem.

rb25det s13 conversion help, finishing touches
S13 Silvia replied to dabigbolf's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've probly already asked this on another forum but how did you go about solving your engine height problems? or did you have any engine height problems? -
I'm the "mate" that's doing the wiring. The only reason he is getting an rb25 instead of a 20 is so he can beat me. Hopefully when we get the mods and boost even, we will be neck and neck. Maybe I might even try to rev my engine out more. We will have to see but there is no way I'm losing!

RB20 Intake manifold mods
S13 Silvia replied to Cool Hand Luke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've done an RB20 into S13 conversion. If you use the R32 gts-t crossmember's and engine mounts, you will have a bonnet clearance problem. If you can source an A31 Nissan Cefrio crossmember and engine mounts, it should clear it because they came stock with an rb20 but using the silvia chasis. Other than that, you need a spacer between the chasis rails and the crossmember, custom engine mounts or to trim the inside gutting of your bonnet right down. -
Did R34's come with RB20's?

RB gearbox speed sensor
S13 Silvia replied to S13 Silvia's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I got hold of a speed sensor from a RB30E and it fits onto the RB20 box but has three wires coming out of it as opposed to two wires coming out of my old silvia auto speed sensor. The silvia auto had a black and green wire The RB30E speed sensor has a black, red and brown wire. Any ideas what the extra wire is for and/or where it goes? -
How much do you want for that cooler that's linked in your signature? and do you have any pics of the GFB BOV?
-
What other cheap BOV's are there that do the job but can handle more than 15psi?

How do you go about ordering a HKS turbo directly from Japan?

RB gearbox speed sensor
S13 Silvia replied to S13 Silvia's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yup, I tried it. Didn't fit. I actually didn't realise they were of different diameters until I tried to put the silvia one in. -
RB gearbox speed sensor
S13 Silvia replied to S13 Silvia's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah I tried my silvia one which was out of a ca18de auto. Compared to the rb20 mechanical sender, the diameter is bigger (the silvia one that is), so it doesn't fit in. People have since told me that the R32 RB gearboxes are the only ones to come with a mechanical sender and the rest (rb30e and rb25de) have electrical sender's so they are mostprobably interchangable. And also someone told me they used a manual silvia that has HUD and that fitted straight in place.
