  1. Count me in. I want 1 walkie talkie for cruises (as long as it's the hand held one and i don't end up with a fat aerial on my car) and 1 scanner (depending on price) to do **** with.
  2. jesus christ! :eek: I try to stay non-ricey but that looks sooo sick!!! adds at least 10kw in my book! I wish it said Silvia on the back of my S13!
  3. What is the stock turbo? What is the max boost capacity of the stock turbo? What is the stock boost level and where abouts is this measured? What can the boost be up'd to using a manual bleed valve safely without detonating with stock cooler? What can the boost be up'd to with a R33 GT-R cooler?
  4. I'm not sure yet Sato. I'm still looking. I'm aiming for an r32 one but if I get an r31 one at the right price I might buy it. I'll keep you posted.

  6. Thanks Boostmeister. Would you be able to give me a step by step guide on it if that's possible? And explain the wiring as I've heard horror stories about this. I've never done an engine conversion before :confused: , this is my first time (only 17). But I'm keen to do it instead of paying someone else to work on my pride and joy.
  7. I'm after an RB20DET front cut or: engine gearbox electrics tailshaft radiator air cond. and heater lines clutch pedal, master and slave cylinders including lines Basically everything required to put an RB20DET in my S13. Cheers.
  8. Thanks a heap guys [esp for the pic]. I can now buy a rb20det front cut and rule out an aftermarket BOV in the "on the road" costs. Cheers
  9. Does the RB20DET have a stock plumback BOV? Or any sort of valve to protect the turbo when the throttle closes?
  10. I am about to transplant a RB20DET in my S13 Silvia. What is a good muffler to choose that matches the engine and produces a good note. I will be matching my muffler choice with a 3" turbo back. I am hopefully aiming for a muffler with a 4" or 5" exit as I reckon these look PHAT
  11. I own a ca18de S13 Silvia. My mate is about to buy a sr20det powered 180sx. I'm considering putting a rb20det in my car. Will I be able to beat him? How would the race go? With mild mods on both engines, how would we fair? Also, how does the RB20DET fair against a 13B series 4 rx7 at stock boost?
  12. Thanks again for your input. I think I am going to go with the rb20 due to funds and I would rather a rb20 with 1k worth of mods than a stock sr20. Can someone who's done this conversion themselves, tell me exactly what has to be fabricated during the conversion process, as I will be doing this myself. I have gotten conflicting reports about what to use from my old engine and what to use from the rb front cut. Some people say that the wiring is heaps heaps hard, some people say it is dead easy and a lot simpler than you would think!! Not all r32 rb20det's have 4ws do they? As I want my 2ws S13 to be able to use the rb power steering pump. And yes I can't stand my auto at the moment. I was originally going to do a manual conversion on a ca18de but after going in my mates rx7.....turbo is what's needed
  13. Thanks for all your help guys. On the High Performance Imports video Vol 3. (currently being borrowed by me off a friend ), they show a S13 Silvia with a VG30DETT in it. Pretty PHAT I reckon! And I'm not going to spend the money on my current ca because it is non-turbo. Spending 2k on my current engine, would that bring it up to scratch with a rb20det (serious question)? And I definantly won't be putting a rb25det into it because of the cost. Also, boostmeister, what has to be fabricated/welded/altered to put the rb20 in the S13? I've heard that the heater hoses have to be altered and besides everything in the halfcut, you'll need a rb tailshaft and a bigger fuel pump in the tank. Is that it?
  14. From your personal experience, what normally comes out on top? What's better in low-range and top-range? What pulls off the line better and what normally wins in the end? I'm asking this because I am considering doing a RB20DET conversion in my auto ca18de because RB's are heaps cheaper than SR's.
