  1. Thanks Nismoid......gt-ss or gt2530's for a gtr is really up to the individual choice. The prices have fallen since I finished work on my car. Sure...going different turbo's makes no difference in price. Sure use your standard afm's. Sure Coils aren't required. Sure 700cc injectors are big....so 555 items are fine. Sure cams aren't required... Sure new oil pump and water pump aren't required Sure timing belt...or any other thing required.... Sure dial the actuator to 1.2bar....so no need for boost controller. SO "Slap the turbo,s,injectors and pump(Fuel) do a mild tune.....all is good. $2500 turbo's,fuel pump and reg.$ 450...INJECTORS $700...TUNE AND LABOUR.....$1800..FROM A QUALITY WORKSHOP. TOTAL COST $5450 Engine will be fine...under 300or at300rwkw's if you rev..below 8000RPM...all good." If i ever give this comment to a thread title like "Money to spend on a gtr"ESPECIALLY A 32 THEN GIVE IT TO ME HARD...LOL
  2. get on the sticky thread...Report Engine failures...and look at why most GTR32 motors fail. Oil pump...broken gears...broken bolts on gears,,,then it is up to you to decide.
  3. OK...I got that wrong...but that is all ...I stand by all the other estimated prices. Oh Beer Baron....I get it ...get all your mods...and wait for the oil pump to fail...so then you can re-build your motor..lol
  4. So $2000 will do the job....lol
  5. Goes for you to ash.....I have been through all this and can even post receipts on work carried out by performance work-shops. If You and Nick agree that for $2000 you can get Turbo's/Dumps/Injectors/Fuel pump/Regulator/Oil pump/Timing Belt all fitted..........I believe you are mis-leading people.....let alone there has been no talk of a good tune and all the other minor details that will be need to be adressed. Good luck with the mods mate.. Oh as far as the new crate motor..here is a link http://www.justjap.com/parts_nengines.htm
  6. Nick......I have been there..... Installation of Nismo fuel pump...and regulator.....$500...plus pump...Drop out tank....drain...install pump..and regulator. Installation of Injectors....No mechanic will do it for less than $300 and obviously computer needs to be re-calibrated....$$$ Installation of Turbo's...dumps.....with engine in...$600+ ....that is if you are not fussy with installing new gaskets or renewing the oil and water lines. Installation of new oil pump...lots of dramas so I think make sure you remove the motor out....extra $300 to get motor out. Last time we needed to drop the sump and still could not get the Nismo item back in...pick up is lower and did not want to twist it getting it back in.....Oh make sure you put lock-tite on the screws inside...bad design... He needs to renew his water pump...those things go quickly...so the new water pump + fitting...Say $300. The car still has not been tuned yet...so allow..$500 for 4 to 5 hours on the dyno+ road tune... So get off your high horse Nick...have you ever payed work-shop prices...? The lucky thing is he has a friend that is a mechanic....make sure he knows what his doing...breaking washers or bolts on the removal of the old turbo's can set things back and cost more to fix....
  7. $2000 for labour is not going to cut it.........allow........$4000+ depending on troubles you might get into...and don't forget tune.
  8. OK...here are some from my camera....hope it uploads by tomorrow morning..lol How do you get upload..if my files are bigger than 32mb...lol
  9. Spotted...lol...I though you might have done a u-e .....
  10. Andrew...seriously....get him to change oil, water pumps...timing belt and timing gear bolts........ If he has done this and is confident in the motor...then 2530's /GT2860-5 ,HKS DUMPS ,AVCR Boost controller...Nismo fuel pump and regulator,Slitfire Coils, 700cc or higher injectors followed by good safe tune for street and he will be able to see 300AWKW's. 11.5 seconds 1/4 Mile and most important 4 sec...100km's..... OK he also wants to go cams..Poncam's are the best......with cam gears aswell... Total estimated cost for pump, water and oil belt and labour $1800 Total estimated cost for mods....including Poncams...... $13000 Does he have that sort of money? If he does...get him to buy a Nismo crate engine...I think by memory..$13000
  11. Installation....renewing of retaining bolts.(Bearing Suds.)....measuring up shims....making sure they fit well into their seat or cradle are all important. I needed 21 new shims because all mine were out of wack....or someone had removed after market ones before and put back the original and not checked shims and clearances.Who knows? I mean do you know the entire history of the car? Did you change any shims or checked clearances..... I asked this question before and got the answer...Poncams are a direct bolt on....nothing else needed. What a load of Shit... Anyway back to the topic........90% Installation and 10% Defective product,,..that is the way I would measure it.
  12. I have GTR mats........They Have GTR written on them....... So if your going to buy the GTR ones....expensive as they are...last I looked new $550+ make sure they are the original...cheers
  13. Great cruise.....look forward doing another in the future.
  14. Don't sell your original exhaust...you might need it later when you get done by the EPA...lol As far as a new type one...use 3"all the way..cat...muffler...hotdog .... If you have done turbo upgrades...get a resinator aswell. 3" off-course..... Oh is this what your asking us to reply to....buying the exhaust...or selling it....I gave you both answers..lol
  15. I have dealt with them on 5 occasions...don't seem to see how you can slander them...lol Received all my goods....email addy is at work hope someone else can help.....Guys name is Richard
  16. Sorry to hear, I don't think it is wise to purchase off any one on any forum unless they have had many posts and some good trader ratings.......it is far to easy to come on as a guest and sell something.......so buyers beware. Good luck in getting back your $$$...cheers.
  17. Josh.....sorry to here....hope you can get your money back some-how..... And also the things they say about ...what goes around comes around.......never does for these pricks....but I know deep down they will burn in hell
  18. +1.....then its all downhill from there. Thanks for sharing
  19. It looks like a workshop......not a panel beater. Are you sure they think you need reverse globes...parkers, indicators and brake lights? But don't know where they go...lol Since January........I would fire him ...
  20. Another one...apples, oranges, bananas, cherries and carrots........ I do not know which one is best for me.?...ffs.....depends on your taste.......buy one that you will not get tired of looking at. And make sure you know how to take care of her...like a female partner...some have habits or just high maintenance.
  21. Depends on where you are. There is a good exhaust centre on barrys road...broadmeadows....and also a good exhaust centre on settlement road Bundoora........As for the other side of town...need to go through the Yellow pages.directory.... All places are the same...just know what you want and they can price you and fit.
  22. I have noticed all the brand named ones.....go by what I have stated...........(Cat,res,muff,hot dog...in that order) Some even have a 4 Inch hot dog out at the tip.....which looks good. So if most of the exhausts that cost $2K plus have these then they have done some serious research and have proven it not to be restrictive. They are not restricting flow but more////making it less noisy...but still sounding great at higher revs.
  23. After you buy it when all has been checked out.....change the following 1 Coil pack 2 oil pump 3 water pump 4 all belts...which include timing...and timing gear bolts...have heard of some breaking ,so you might as well. 5 spark plugs 6 oil and air filters........making sure you clean the afm's. Most of all get some new oil for the gear box...diff...engine and may as well flush your radiator. All the right oils will be listed in this Forum....ie redline shockproof for gearbox After you have done this....get a tune......even if it has the standard computer. One friend of mine bought a gtr...which had been stripped of everything bar the HKS cams... So he though nothing of it until motor went pop at high revs.....HKS cams only work with AM computers. How was he to know... This all might be a bit to much for some on this forum but prevention is better than the cure.
