  1. I know how these warranties work. They get your workshop to check the problem and if it is related to wear ant tear you have to wear the costs yourself. If something has broken...then they will fix that problem only ...supplying the parts to your mechanic and only wearing the cost of the labour to fit it.... In your situation...this is wear and tear...and you should of had a compression test done when you bought the thing. This way you would have known if you had caused the problem yourself from the modes you have added. Anyhow.....wait until it goes and then get a transplant....that is your cheapest option... Why fix something that ain't broken. Re-build etc ....will cost u big time, especially if you are looking for big power. RB25 transplant...is the better option... Cheers
  2. This is why I stated you do the fuel/ turbo/ tune/with(PFC) at the same time., Or you may be looking at engine problems.

Hi, Here are my findings on GTR turbo's Stock turbo's...new...14psi Stock turbo's...used...100K on odometer" not suspicious"....12psi Stock turbo's..used...100K on odometer "suspicious"....no more than 10psi. After market turbo's... new....14psi and above....depending on tune and state of your motor. Turbo's should be renewed every 100K so this is why I have stated the above. Don't push your luck at higher boost levels or it might be fatal to the motor. Hope I have been of some help.
  4. Don't run more than 1Bar boost before you get your turbo's. Your injectors and pump will have problems when you slap these turbo's on. So if you can...get your fuel pump,regulator and injectors put on at the same time. You will need to tune the engine only once then. If you are looking for -5 Turbo's...there are lots of sponsors who sell these on this Forum. Cheers.
  5. But mis_quoted I believe. GT2850R turbo's come in 4 Versions. N1,SS,-5(2530),-10(GT-RS). Buy either the N1, or SS.....same size housing as the stock unit no EPA probs. Cheers
  6. Now thats what I am talking about :sorcerer: A real car driven on the street...not a car that can't turn a corner RX7's have one of the best chassis for drag racing...this is why they are stripped down and re-built .
  7. Both are money pits if you have the need for speed. Two years ago I was in your shoes gtr33 or gtt..luckily I choose the gtr. The fun thing is there are so many things you can buy for them. Not only has my GTR bought me many smiles and giggles like a school girl...it has held its value. A gtt two years ago where selling for 33K+. You will need to spend money to get a reliable gtr so allow...3 to 4K after you purchase one...that is if you have no workshop receipts.
  8. Its more likely to be your afms rob...give them a knock when you have the engine running to see. If so get them out and repair them...their is a DIY in here somewhere() Where are you ASH..lol
  9. Now I know why ASH gets all crazy and fired up when he sees these posts. I hope you have all your mods and your supporting modes in place. Oil pump and water pump have been changed...as well a timing belt and bolts on belt replaced. You can push up to 2 BAR on a gtr RB26 providing you have a good tune.ie complete with limiter and all the maintenance under your belt. OH...your turbos are fine.....but you might hit a snag when it comes to your stock injectors...
  10. John....after being in a work shop...panel beater..etc. I do believe your filter,afm has alot of dust and need to be cleaned. The other thing it could be is your spark plugs...these can rust up on the ends. They may also need changing. Also you could be correct in assuming the cpu has re-set itself. I am sure ,while there has been no power, some-one could have pressed down on the brake for more than a few seconds. But if this was the case your car would idle untill it went back to factory settings. The only other thing could be is your fuel pump might have seized or is on the way out. Get yourself a new battery and test your fuel pressure. Clean your plugs,air filter and afm. If this does not work...I am sure you have an air-leak from your fmic Hope this is a logical explanation. OH...Put some water in your radiator...lol
  11. Insurance- their use to be a loop hole that allowed parents to insure and kids to drive at parents premiums. That has been shut down...Now all vehicles are insured on the nominated drivers ratings. Allow $1500 for insurance. You will need to look at replacing nearly everything on the car when you buy it. IE. OILS- ENGINE,DIFF.,TRANSMISSION,BRAKE(fluid). WATER-RADIATOR. AIR FILTER,SPARK PLUGS Then you will need to change the timing belt,water pump,oil pump. This might sound excessive to you but, you cannot treat your odometer reading as gospel. Allow another 2k...FOR PEACE OF MIND,,,,
  12. I would dream of a triple rotor 20B ,with a turbo larger than life mounted on my push bike. This will more than likely produce a 5second quarter mile time if I could hold on to the handle bar. This is why they are so fast..1).Able to spool up at low revs(Due to their triangular design,exhaust waste-gate) and 2)get really high revs. due to engine balance....they are pure and have no faults.(Just workshops that charge like a wounded bull) Fuel consumption however is high Why do you want to know...these cars are not cars(Like my push bike)....they are show pieces,promoting workshops and crazy people. Give us something really nice...to discuss..like.....Who's car can run 10's flat...and do they use it everyday?
  13. Rex --4Wd 2.5 Turbo 4 Door....New..comes with warranty ,3 Years and goes like a rocket.Newer features and luxury's. Gtst ---2WD 2.5 Turbo 2 door...old...Lots of money for repairs and maintenance..older dash ,less creature comforts. It is a personnel preference .....I have seen superb gtst's and wrx's....but technology is far more advanced in a rex new than a 14 year old gtst33. It is like you are putting an apple and an orange together and trying to work out the differences. If you are really comparing a rex (NEW)...dollar for dollar ,you would have to say a gtr34(Stock)or even a nice gtr33(with all the extras)is nearly the same price. Now you are comparing apples to apples:D
  14. Manual boost is good.....for the turbos. Aftermarket ecu...don't bother on standard turbo. Re-tune and map your current ecu...if you want to keep your turbo.

I have a similar problem last workshop I left my car to gave me the car with 1 dint in the front passenger panel..denied by them. 1 window seal badly notched "drivers side" 1 side skirt chipped"drivers side" I need to install cams/afms and retune. I am not giving it back to these guys. There work was good but are rough as guts on your car. PM ME IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE IN MELBOURNE.

  17. Spend the money only once on the tune...do the turbo and safc / powerfc ,and boost controller all together.

  19. If your not upgrading the Turbo...don't waste your money. I am sure you are able to re-map your standard ECU. If you must safc...

  22. It must be at low boost then yeah...Or does the motor have low compression to start off with? It sounds like a good upgrade...lower the thing and put some gtr rims on...sure it will be bling with the power..

  24. As all can tell...asks the questions and is no-where to be found . I would love to drop the Q45 motor into my XTrail .Now this would be fun..does anyone know if it will fit.
  25. Not putting shit on your choice of Rims.....I am sure they will come out quite nice if you like spend $500 fixing them...... R32 GTR should only be wearing 2 /3 piece rims(Black inner and Polished wall) or gtr33 Rims(Black). My2c....
