R34 Gtr Original Condition Untouched
700HP-GTR33 replied to The Alchemist's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Have you tried dumping the fuel from tank.......If the car has been sitting for a while the fuel can go off. Was it driving fine and this happened or has it always had this problem.? Cheers -
Oh did I say that...........no I was just interested in if I could.............

How Long Do You Run Your Turbo Timer For?
700HP-GTR33 replied to mitchy_'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Whatever he says ...cause he knows so much about cooling turbos......discopotato can I list you as a buddy...please.... -
Hey, Cams are good, especially poncams which do not need heavier spring, valves, or having an aftermarket computer in.The Poncams are designed to bolt on and drive off...not even cam gears are needed.0 adjustment works the best for them. If this is the only modification you are planning in the next year or so ...do it because you will get great results. Hope I have been of some help.. Cheers These cams are around $800 for the set and installation should be around $400. Your power output will increase slightly, but your response and power curve will be alot better.

Do a search....D.I.Y.......it will show you the two bolts you need to unscrew. The oil is lighweight-shockproof and available through Bursons and is about $110 dollars...each store has a different price.(?) At least this is what I found out when calling a few up in my area. Fill it up until it overflows...... What problem are you having anyway because normally this oil is used when you are having some problems. It might be a waste of time ...especially if you need to over-haul the unit.

How Long Do You Run Your Turbo Timer For?
700HP-GTR33 replied to mitchy_'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I put it in auto....close the door and switch the alarm on while it is running. In Auto mode it is always over 3 minutes when I get to my regular locations. When you are at a set of lights for a while and look at the time it is always under 1 minute. It is in my opinion always safer to run in auto..................................... -
Thanks for the discussion guys, I hope this is helping you come to a decision that you are comfortable with gungtr32. As for the replies to my post ,I am going on experiece and drag Pb times posted in the Vic section of this Forum. Un-educated....no......there are 7 people only who have posted below 12 seconds(Vic) and I have not seen the set up they have. As what dirtgarage has posted...he has stated that in different modes awkws shows up lower on the dyno. As far as being an engineer and seeing whether there is hardly any loss of power through the drive train. You also have to take in consideration the wheels and the friction they cause thus the loss of power they put to the road.......awkws is power delivery to the road...not loss of drivetrain power.@the wheels Nismoid...O2 sensors??? How does this relate to kws?(at the wheels)...or is this in another thread that has no real questions answered. As for Ferni.......he himself has probably re-though about realistic times by now, using the gt-ss set up. If we all got our figures on the same dyno.....we can compare results and directly see our pb times and how it all pans out. gun32gtr.....check the power levels people are stating the times they have posted these are all over the place..with the same mods. With gt-ss turbo's your quickest time with the modes you have posted in this thread is 12 seconds with stickies, which is a great time and you will be more than happy driving the car daily. It will also be great on the track If any-one has mis-understood my intentions on trying to help they are mistaken. This Forum is a great resource for every-one, and I am just stating the truth...at least what I have read I will not defend my findings in this post again. Cheers Tekin

R33 Gtr Series 3 - Where To Put Oil Cooler?
700HP-GTR33 replied to WRRR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The only place you can put the cooler is in behind the front left hand lights between the cavity. (this is when you are sitting in the car ) Buy a complete kit from a supplier on these forums and sponsor.....they will know exactly the kit you need. I was supplied (before I joined Sau)one for a gtr32 and after piss-farting around and getting longer lines, special fixing bracket and new joiners....It made me sick I think HKS have a kit but check with Nengun or just jap....... Good luck -
It is important to set the RPM limiter at say 7700....so you don't. 320Awkws with a t04z?What power rating is the turbo? gun32gtr, The other thing is that with the gt-ss turbo's your 1/4 mile figures will be( with your mods )around, 12.5 seconds on street tyres and 12's with stickys. I am searching for 12's with road tyres and 11.5's with stickys and thats why I picked the 2530's. Dont pay to mush attention to awkws and rwkws,....look at the times people have posted up then look at the power levels they are producing .(most of the time they are inconsistent.) It is also wise to see the modifications they have completed and what tune and boost they normally run. Cheers and good luck with the upgrade.

My compliencer stuck the right hand mirror with white glue which on a hot day melts down onto the mirror they just make me sick.

I think Nismoid you are mistaken. I have 330rwkws on a rear wheel dyno and 260awkws on a 4 wheel drive dyno. Both are different. gtr32 has already the 320kws at the wheels he is asking for help with mods to get him to 400rwkws. Tuners also give you results in shoot out mode because it is a higher value. In shoot out mode I have 370 rwkws with the 2530's,set at 1.3 bar I will though clarify with my tuner tommorrow ,but of what I have read this is a correct statement. Thanks for you help Nismoid in bringing this to my attention. Cheers.

I feel for you dude...it took me a year to get everything sorted out properly. The oil leak on mine was front and back seals which took 2 goes for the back and 3 goes for the front I supected the pump...had that changed and all has been good since then...the bolts nearly were off. I had also gear box and other issues which cost a shit loadsto fix...and while I was doing this I was also modifying it.......so it was like a double wammy. Look froward to seeing you at the next event... Cheers.

If you read the..........engine failure thread.... you will be suprised on how many people get into trouble because they believed the odometer reading in there car.... When you are searching for more horses, as stated many times you need the mods and then you need the supporting mods. If their is any doubt in your mind ,that, their could be some issues with the current oil pump or water pump, you need to fix this first. The last thing I would hate is to recommend something when I do not know the state of his vehicle. The last thing he needs is to spend money...and then blow his motor...because of a timing belt , bearing or bolt due to poor maintence. Roy...my boost is at 1.3 bar and I have a 7500RPM cut out. This gives me 330RWKWS.. Poncams I am hoping will get me to 300AWKWS
-
The compression in the engine is to high and you will need to deal with this first. Then you need some savvy and choose a turbo that compliments the motor. Get some custom work on inlet, manifold, exhaust and intercooler mountings. You will need to re-tune your car and set up a boost controller. After you have spend 1000+hours and $7000 and the thing is not working right because you nhave other problems...ie fuel pump or injectors or mis-firing etc etc etc. It would have been better off buying a gtr32 for $20000. Hope I have been of some help. You are better off super-charging this gives you good gains and can bolt up to your set-up .

I will buy a cap tommorrow....thanks for the replies....guys and gurls... If its not the cap I will get back to this thread to ask how I can reseal the neck again. Cheers.

R32 Gtr And Small Single Turbo (sst) Upgrade
700HP-GTR33 replied to Beer Baron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
You are all forgetting a re-tune,and full service...which involves...dumping water and oil etc etc The $1000 labour will only cover 1/2 the things...try $2000. And that is if every-thing goes well when the workshop is installing the thing. Also the gaskets all need replacing .......just incase you have a leak later....and all the copper washers and bolt which hold manifolds and turbo's also need replacing ...if you go genuine add another 500. Beer Baron , Get the parts first and then ask how much to install at a reputable workshop. These figures here are all speculative. -
He has stated he wants 320AWKW's not rear wheel. I have the 2530's and am at 260AWKW's...I need Poncams to get me to 320AWKWS. Or have I mis-understood his intentions?
-
Sometimes the actuators are set at a higher bar and you might need to after you have completed the installation, take your front pipes off to adjust.....they only need slight adjustments up or down to get the results you need. Both turbos need the same boost level.
-
Boost controller, replace coils, while you are doing large upgrades........... ...replace oil pump , water pump and timing belt....get the bearings and bolts changed at the same time though. Then after it has cost you $5000+ to install your $7000 dollars of parts you will need to upgrade or pay some attention to the brakes and suspension......and after $3000 of this.... .....you will then need some rims and sticky rubber so you can get a 1/4 mile result...this would cost about $4000. And you haven't finished yet. Believe me ....cause these are the figures you are facing..... If you are worried about $3000 wait until you finish your upgrades. As far as the -5(2530) turbo's.....they are the best choice for 320AWKW's and you have to have the Poncams to get this figure.
