Hello, Just had a discussion about Garrett Turbo's vs HKS Who ever has any links please post here This thread was started because a Turbo marked Garrett 707160-9 is being stated as a Hks gt-ss but this link, http://tuneagent.com.au/public/content/Vie...gory.aspx?id=85 says its the 707160-7 . Is this like the great Japanese 206kw di-barkle? This will also help others make decissions.

Hey there Guys, These are not HKS read the print on the side of turbo Who told you they were HKS? Hks does not have an equivilant to these The ones you are refering to Geoff are the -7 that Garrett make...not -9's Anyway having said that these Turbos are only worth $2700 approx new from suppliers

By memory i think Just Cars (a part of AAMI) and Shannons could only insure me(GTR) Shannons has excess lower than that ,I nominated only myself and have only a $500 excess and they give one free windscreen replacement every year.But then again I am 39 with no claims or traffic infringements(Knock on wood) Yes an agreed value is the way to go .I have $35000 on mine(Its hard to find a good GTR33 at that price though)

Hi there, GO FOR A GTR 32 then you have maybe 5 grand to mod the engine modes(LEGAL) Then no one will be able to catch you (except me). And you are home when you get pulled over. But if you have another $10,000 to spend buy your friends and do that up.

The vehicle would have already been chopped and scattered by now. More than likely (not pointing fingers and that) but seems to me like an inside job......hey but could be ligit too have the police been notified?...have you paid for this yet? OK then here is my two bobs worth... Buy or rent a high pressure steam cleaner , this will steam the crap off and it will bring back a bit of moisture to the parts, sure if you want spray the de-greaser before and leave for a while. You can clean your rims and underguards but avoid painted areas for long periods of time You can do your garden paths and ornaments aswell after this and other things. Instead of silicon spray try using amour-all i think this penetrates the plastics etc better,just wipe it on though,dont spray it. And yeah still have the car running for 5 minutes after you finish....go for a drive it will dry faster.

You could have been there when the prices were falling by 5cent.....if you would have come back they would have changed it or the opposite could have happend and the prices were goin up In that case you got 5 cents cheaper than the poor bastard after you...

We are not a large organisation but i think it is safe to say, not a small one aswell. I bring up this topic because it is close to my heart as i believe it is to all car buffs. When can we all stand together as a united organisation, not only to get products and services cheap, but also be proud to own a high performance or fully modified car. I would love to see ID cards similar to RACV and discounts associated with these. I would love to see Complete yearly booklets, with offers from sponsors and great deals. Lets face it not everyone in the RACV are looking for 285/30 tyres and i have never seen them on discount. Call me silly but our needs differ to mainstream needs and this is why i post this discussion here. So just wondering if this is the natural evolution of SAU or are we headed for extinction. A show of hands yes or no as the reply would be great to get the ball rolling.
