Yea, rb25's a good engines and I have been told a a few people that the head gaskets should last on 20psi. I think its not GOOD for your engine & an engine with less power and boost will last longer... Things to worrie about are: ring lands (monitor knock & A/F ratio's and all should be fine) head gasket (no more than 20 psi / adj cam gear at 3' adv helps this) rods (dont rev rb25's over 7000 consitantly) Before going big boost/power get a new timming belt and water pump... I would like to get a zaust cam to lower the boost... rant rant rant

No work done. However I think when considdering engine life you should be right at 20 psi as long as your knock is under control. Keep in mind that this is NO race car and will only see 20psi for short periods of time. Lets face it, how many roads are there in the ACT that will allow an rb25det with 260wrkw to be going full blat for any period of time I think there is some risk of doing a head gasket but thats no biggy, I will get a fater one when that happens to lowwer the compression and all will be sweet. Trust me its easier to act ignorent rather than worry about it mate

With a .63 rear housing and a GT30 comp WITHOUT zaust cam you wont get near 250rwkw under 17psi IMO. With a zaust cam gear set to 3deg advance and a HPInABox GT30 with .63 zaust housing I am hoping to get close to 260rwkw at ~20psi but not over 20psi... I think (hope) that the .63 zaust housing is good enough swollow enough to avoid serging...

Have you got a pic of your setup, sounds like you might not be running the right hose to the top of the valve. It should come directly from the plenum.

yea drives me insane as well. I was thinking about getting one of those really small steering wheels to fix the prob, maybe one with a flat bottom....

Can this be used with a standard r33 steering wheel? Do you have any pics, sounds like good solution.

Just remember, if you do run the atmo style can make sure you block off the PCV value otherwise your car will idle rough as the value will be suck air in from your catch can.

Bungs yes but not too many, I think only 1. I think you can use a ball baring to block the PCV valve...

Try to find SK's thread as there are many ways to set this up depending on how you us your car. eg, PVC valves block etc etc. PVC would be a good place to start your search... OR is it PCV Sorry I am not sure...

This is what you need to do: See the hose comming from the cam cover to the can, yours should be the same. With the one comming from the can to the inlet, instead of running the hose to the inlet run it down into the engine bay so you cant see it then put the filter on the end of it.

yea put the filter on one of the blue nozzels. You should be able to get the little filters from places like autobarn etc etc. There is a really good thread on setting up catch cans by sydneykid on here somewhere, try to search for it as it will be a good guide for ya. My catch can is set up to plumb back into the inlet which is the legal way but if you have a hose from the one of the blue nozzels then connect the little filter somewhere burried in the engine bay then you should be right

Mate, are you sure that you cant open it. I'm just asking becuase it looks to me like that bracket around the top might come off or something. If you cant open it and put a seperator in then I would get one of the readline filters to run off one of those outlets, note this is not legal though but it would stop oilly air going back into your intake... Juts shoving the stockings in through the little hole wont work very well for two reasons: 1) The air is not moving through much of the filter because those outlets are very close together. 2) It would be an absolute biatch to get the filter out when it needs to be replaced.

I would have to see the photos before I can say, but put it this way, unless your catch can is going to vent to the atmo then an empty can is pretty much doing nothing but look good.

The only solution for us is to get a smaller steering wheel I think.

So its empty and you cant open it? My Greedy one has alan keys to take the top off. Where are the locations of the hoses connected to the can? If they are at opposite sites to each other then I guess you could just shove the stocking in between them. A pic of your catch can would help...

I have a similar problem with my knees hitting the steering wheel... It makes it hard to heal & toe.

Oh yea, the filter on top is for external venting cans which are illegal due to emmisions laws.
