Why in the bloody hell would you put an SR20 into something that has the mighty FJ?? Have you seen how much room there is between the firewall and the back of the motor in a DR??? You can have a bloody picnic back there!! Why not just move the FJ back further??? I thinking that the SR should just stay where the SR is, just my school of thought.... BTW coil packs crapping themselves isnt really a problem.......

Craaaaaaaap how much will a FJ rebuild cost?
Boof replied to Adam_RSX's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Why whats wrong with the alto?? We all have to drive something we don't like driving at times dude, its the nature of the game....... -

Boof replied to Doctor 30's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Now go and stick the thing back on the dyno and check to make sure its NOT pinging or leaning out.... -
No not yet and yes

So we winning this battle or whats the G-O???? I can't really use the standard type C front lip due to my cooler so i need something to fit there!!
-
W3rd to that brother

Don't be silly!! Why would you want to swap such a tough engine in the FJ with something as not so tough as the SR??? Putting an RB into a DR i can understand but im not a fan of the idea but the SR!! *shudders* YUCKSKI'S!! Leave the SR in the silvia's/poosars
-
Why oh why don't they make plug in ecu's for the DR30's PFC i can vouch for as my mate has one in his R33 gts-t, the only other aftermarket ecu equiped car that i've been in that has used aftermarket ECU's on piston motor's are motec/autronic and well speaks for itself hey... Personally i went the wolf 3D V4 pro, got it at a nice price with the hand controller so that tipped it in my favour, otherwise i was looking at either EMS or haltech.. Like has been said though, its in the hands of the tuner....
-
Yerp i've had that situation as well, it turned out to be both the temprature switches in the top and bottom and the radiator, i had them replaced and all is sweet with it now!! Never gets over 1/2 on the gauge even when it was 42 degree's outside with a FMIC in the way as well!!
-
yerp the OS Giken is slipping worse then the west indies grip on that cricket on the other night...Bucket of shit Im out of ideas, only thing i can think of is the clutch fork as no play in it and im thinking it might still be slightly engaged or something..Bucket of shit i'll find out when the box comes back out i guess
-
What you talking about willis!! Im always here!! Well if you wanna see me, come help me take my clutch out LOL!! bucket of shit it is oh well, goes with the car i guess...Yeah bring it round what ever be SICK! HAR! Might go start taking my car apart in a minute ready for the clutch to come out....I hate cars
-
Hrmm interesting one here...The front end COULD grow on me, at least it looks semi interesting but that rear end??? U G L Y ! ! ! ! Like has been said though, at least they are going back to the round tail lights, its a skyline signature! With that rear end though, definatly needs a rear wing just to balance it all out.... Mechanical specs on the car are yummy, is that definatly what the car will come out with????
-
From what i've been lead to beleive from investigating this issue the later model R200's will go in, but its a complete fabrication job, and one that would prolly cost money....No unfortunatly the centre's won't change either its a loose loose situation all around... Yeah best thing to do is sit and wait and pray, or suss ozdat forums/classifieds and or suss wreckers out failing that just keep your eye out for them...
-
The long and the short of it is no they don't fit...The DR30/R31 skylines use a long nose R200, the later model ones use a short nose R200....If you really want to spend the $$$ you can make anything fit Basically, the two diff centres are classed as the same diff, built to the same specs and all, but one is a short nose centre and the other is a long nose centre...
-
Nothing's broken on it, i just want it to be painted/straight again, and i was getting quotes to get my ecu/injectors/pump installed and ecu tuned and quotes on fixing my clutch....I hate cars Josh can i ask what workshop that was son?????
-
Yerp i've had the scorpion comments as well, gives me the shits, but i just smile and let the wastegate open LOL!! Going to get quotes to fix the whore tomorrow as well, should be interesting kill the bank balance a bit more

W3rd to that

Thats not a true theory at all, you will still have brake fade, it will most likely be in your pads/fluid before you start to experience rotor's overheating... I had my car in anger for the first time in the hills on christmas day and i have to say im impressed with the GTS-t calipers!! The run i did i used to have my standard brakes over heated half way along it, but the GTS-t's just kept pulling me up time after time! Funny thing is the pads that are in it are cheap $30 bendix things, so i can't wait to upgrade the pads/fluid and see how it goes!! Matt have you done this conversion yet or what???
-
Personally not my ideal thing to do with a rare car, but like you've said you have all the standard stuff to return it back to standard so go hard! I've got 90% of my standard stuff in the shed if need be as well!! I love my DR as well, as much of a pain in the ass it is at times and the headache it causes me (and my wallet) its so nice to be driving something wtih a skyline badge but is different to every other skyline...I still have people asking me what a DR30 skyline is once they see it they love it!!
-
Its injected and it doesn't have an 02 sensor? Weird?!?!?!?
-
Check your 02 sensor as well for if this is not reading properly the ECU might be fooled into thinking it needs more fuel then it does...There are a meriod of problems that can cause high fuel efficency but im feeling that the main cause may be the amount of K's that the motor has done....
-
OMG NO!!! You've invaded this forum as well Adz Good to see you've finally acheived what you set out to do should be an interesting ride!! Now don't be a statistic and learn to drift on a track f00l!! *mwah* Love ya

550cc or bigger injectors to suit FJ20
Boof replied to fj910's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah RX7 550cc injectors will go straight into the rail as mentioned above...Anything bigger then that and your looking at a custom rail being made and or running staged injection setup... -
I seem to remember a few years ago (in adelaide) back when i was driving rotaries that cops were all over them like a rash and it blew over...I kinda of don't think its going to go away that easily... Hippy i agree with you, pose restrictions on P plater drivers and provide some kind of driver training when they are elgible to be driving these higher powered cars in much the same way as they do with the WRX now...I know my skyline is my first turbo car i enjoy it but i learnt how to drive in shitheaps and i think the biggest problem now a days is the banks are so easy to get money out of to get a loan for a car, where as 7 or so years ago your first car would be a gemini or something, now its a skyline/silvia/etc etc...Big step from nothing to a car like that.....
