  1. I think you'll find that the RB20/25 turbo's are still a T3 designated turbo hence the fact that they bolt onto an FJ manifold!!
  2. FJ20 came with a T3 as standard, best to my knowledge the first T25's were on the CA18DET....
  3. Hey Guys!! Got my clutch and all that in now, she's sweet as!! Ran my water lines to my turbo, thats sweet as as well just need my hose clamps for the oil return line and the turbz is finished!! Then i need to find my panels :bs!: and its almost ready to go!! As a quick question, what do u rekon a stock DR30 Fj20 exhaust manifold is worth selling for???
  4. I was lead to believe that the long nose centres and the short nose centre's arnt interchangeable??
  5. Ummm don't i losse the effect of LSD then mate? Or are u saying that the 260z's came centre can be rebuilt into an LSD??
  6. Yes higher!! Pretty simple thing to work out isnt it...I want a HIGHER ratio diff centre!! Would prefer to **** this clutch pack shit off as well and go mechanical but can't see that happening in a hurry..So rebuilding the and shimming the centre is on the cards as well now!! Does anyone know what the rough sorta price for a dump pipe is to be made??? I need one made soonish but as i've got a full kakimoto exhuast on my car im not really in the mood for cutting it up!!!
  7. As apposed to paying Nissan $1200 for a RS-x spoiler which isnt even painted yet??? I don't think i was doing to bad of a job with it all..This will be the first and last tie its crashed though, way to much of a head**** with it all!! I just got an OS Giken twin plate clutch for mine with a very lightened flywheel ha! Ghostrider : Out of interest have u actually got an R200 in one of those ratios?? Mines currently got the 3.9 ratio in it and i want something a little higher!!

Bah u should try crashing one and then having to find a WHOLE front end for a tekaman I paid $1800 for everything (am still waiting for it all as well)..But i just bought a tekamen bonnet as well...$450!!! OUCH!!! On better news though, finally got my clutch!! Goin in this weekend, its mint as!! :kick: :flower: :wavey:
  9. Hey Adam!! :wavey: Whats goin on son?? Hows the car going??? Did u block that pop off valve off??? Just be warey if u did cause i've heard of the wastegates on the standard turbo's sticking open which is what the pop off valve is for and why im in no hurry to take mine off! What kinda rotors and pads were they for $550 though???
  10. Umm i happened to stumble across mine whilst cruising round on FJ20.com..very lucky!! Managed to get OS Gieken with flywheel so pretty cheering! Yeah i watched u take off the other sat Crimmo and the subframe must been close to hitting the deck son..Looks cool but wouldn't really be good i dun think!! :wavey:
  11. As for getting them to fit mate, speak with Crimmo he's done it on his car and will be something that i will be looking at doing on mine very soon!! As for the R33 front's fitting in the rears, they just bolt up!! Yeah im good mate, got a twin plate for the DR now, just waiting for that to arrive..Getting bonnet in week or two so gonna go look for some decent panels/bumper and away we go..Luckily i took the skirts off the front guards before the car went to the crash shop, so all i'll be missing is the front skirt..Easy as!! Cars slowly coming together hehe!! Hows your bus coming along??
  12. Laggy yes, wheel spinning no, tail out snap over steer yes, narrow power pand yes...Bit of fun to drive i tell's ya!! I paid 10,500 for mine due to fact it was in resonable condition, but now that i've learned more about it i rekon i paid to miuch for it... Coil overs are easy, R33 front ones fit in the back, and with bit of modifying the s13 strut will fit in front and then go the nissan 4 spot conversion, or get one with coil overs fitted already!! Diff's are a hassle, easiest way is to get the original shimmed up or if your really lucky u can find a long nose R200 that will fit in the DR's centre...You could probably get a shortner nose one to fit but requires alot of modifing...Not worth it IMHO. Exhuast are as easy as going down reputable exhuast shop and getting one done nothing to hard... Motor's are different thing..I've been quoted around $3k to rebuild my FJ to standard condition, i *think* if u check FJ20.com someone has bought this subject up before and there are some good prices on rebuilds and the cam specs..I've just been quoted round the 3k mark as well to supply and fit an 8860 EMS, 550cc injectors and my bosch 044 fuel pump. Coolers are pretty easy, fair whack of space in front, just check some pics of some jap versions and u'll get a good idea on that!! Little things are supported still by aftermarket, but gettting harder to find them, best place now is Nissan direct but that = dollars and alot of it from my eperiences that is!! About the only things that have gone wrong with mine was its appitette for alternators and i cracked the heater core as well, but i only had the thing on the road for a little over 3 months before i crashed it/lost my licence so yeah.. They are alot of fun though and i highly reccomend getting one and throwing that laggy piece of turbo in the bin to make the driving experience so much better!!

  15. Question time from the lad in adelaide...Stock ECU and stock injectors..Are they going to able to work with my VG30 turbo and FMIC?? Im worried about leaning the motor out and blowing it, my mate had a S4 RX7 that im getting the injectors out of very soon (he just maxed them @ 8psi at only 6000rpm) and getting aftermarket ECU eventually, but i wanna know if im going to able to actually drive the thing or if its going to sit in the driveway for nother 6 months whilst i save for all that!!

Im about to start going through this very same project myself, as my ex insurance company has now stated they can't insure me as i lost my lilicence....4 years worth of insurance and then that, thank you!!! Have you tried a place called import finance and insurance??? Think they are in QLD, but they insured my mate who has the worlds worst driving record on an R33 @ 19...Might be worth a try!

  19. Josh/Crimmo when all our cars are back on the road well go have some cruisy fun and take some happy snaps..Maybe organise some kinda R/HR/DR30 cruise?? Those cup holders will be mine Mike Cash yeah Crimmo's car used to be L24 auto so yeah was prolly his...I beleive that they are S13 struts that he has used in the nose of his car as well, don't quote me exactly on that (my memory is CRAP) but imm pretty sure bout that...He'll explain it when he's on next i guess.. :inlove:

  24. Yeah it will bolt up to an HR30, cause the chassis and all are the same just really motor's and interior stuff is different...Mine is similar to that, but the outlet pipe which im assuming is the one on the right, goes back over the top of the cooler...

Not alot to report on my car on this side of the fence for this week, just 1/2 i've started doing the water lines for the new turbz...My mate just went back to work so cooler pipes and what not will get done rather quickly i *hope*...Then still waiting for panels PhatMR30 if you want 4 wheel disc brakes, just go and swap the rear swing arms with ones that have the disc brakes...Its easy as!! R30_turbo saw u drive past the park on shakespear avenue yesty...Looking the goods As for coolers, i got mine from JMS (well my mate got the turbo and cooler as a package from JMS and i bought it off my mate), i think its designed for an R32 or something like that, cause its not a straight in and out cooler, the out pipe crosses back over the top..Hard to explain but yeah you'll c one dauy when the POS is back on the road!
