  2. uuuusually to budget for a engine conversion you budget 2 to 3 times the cost of the engine to put it in.. but as this is a 26 replacing a 25 the engine part of the conversions shouldnt be too much or too hard, but all the supporting components will have to be brought up to spec, ie driveline, transmission, brakes etc.. for instance i got quoted $16,000 to put a s6 13btt in my mx5, the cost of the engine was $3,500.. and this was by the best workshop qualified to do this conversion.. the reason the price was soo much was because the only thing that was going to be mx5 at the end of the conversion was the shell..

  7. had a Lukey exhaust on my mx5. f**king rocked the shit. sound was sooooo nice, soo much nicer then my hks super dragger on the skyline. i rate lukey very high.
  8. dont worry, gapped to that anyways. siliconed coils last night and put it all together today with the gapped plugs.. soo very smooth through the higher revs now. very happy with how it went
  9. would i be right in assuming that iridium plugs get gapped to the same 0.8?
  10. they'd be the m-spec ones.. as stated above, were an optional extra from neesahn. can get copies everywhere, carmate etc.

    its good practice to wear a face shield whenever you use a tool with a cutting disk.. disks break, better putting a scratch on the shield then a slice in your face or eye. /SAU Safety Officer Mode

  16. neg. no big bangs or anything, just a heap of little pops and no power.. thus why i asked if it was boost cut because its like engine is being starved of air.. i was told by a somewhat informative source that it was boost cut and that it can only really be fixed with an a/m ecu+tune.. will avcr or equivellent be sufficient or should i be looking into a haltec or similar?
  17. i was led to believe that coil failure was apparent at around 6-7k rpm all the way to redline?
  18. so on my 2am trip home from work i was wondering why at around 5k rpm the car starts to lose power and why 'pop's are coming from the exhaust.. pondering away trying to keep myself awake at the wheel i came to the (guessed) conclusion that the reason may come down to the factory boost cut.. my reason for thinking this is happening at around that rpm is because of the larger volume of air needing to be pushed through due to fmic and the fact that my exhaust is 3 1/2" or 4.. not 100% sure, but shes a big bugger from the turbo-back.. how off the mark am i? if it is this, how can it be rectified? ps, S1 R33 gtst if it helps.. cheers, mac
  19. no. to original poster, no, the standard pistons and rings on your factory rb26 fitted gtst is good for 1200hp. why the f**k would you put a single t51 on there though? put twin t51spl's on it. f**k it, put 6 of them on the flamin mongrel. then it'll go fast enough to beat your dads veyron. his white one. not his red one, they go faster. just.
  20. on this topic, does anyone know where i can get a R33 specific 3 guage holder for above the center vents, on the dash?
  21. yeah thats what i was thinking, haha might splice that brake wire in afterall.. so the question still stands, where will i find this wire? do i have to pull the center facia out?

  24. so i hooked it all up, aside from the park brake wire because i still cant find it, will try in daylight 2moro. question for anyone using these, does yours beep every second it counts down? at the moment mine is, and inbetween displaying every second of the countdown, it shows [ S i D ] is this all just because its not recognising the brake as being applied and a warning?
