  1. I can't make the dyno day but will come down tonight to catch up with a few of you guys
  2. I was in a similar situation mid way through last year. I was tossing up between a 250rwkw series 2 R33 GTS or a R32 GTR. I ended up with the GTS because everything was already done that I was ever going to do and I could tell that the car was the sellers labour of love. He had over $20k in receipts for modifications. All the R32 GTR's I looked at for similar money were fairly rough and would have been expensive to maintain. GTR's are at the age now where motors, turbos, gearboxes, suspension bushes need to be replaced if they haven't been already. All I can suggest is that its a buyers market at the moment and don't be afraid to low ball a few desperate sellers. You might get lucky. I know i did.
  3. I had one in my old R33 GTS25T held 12psi fine. I liked it because it was controlled by the PFC hand controller so I didn't have another 'gadget' cluttering up my dash. I also hear that the solenoids are the same as the Apexi AVCR. Generally I think they are pretty good as long as you aren't running huge amounts of boost.
  4. Looks really good there Granthem. I have seen very few good looking spoilerless R34's but you seem to have pulled it off. All I reckon you need is some dishy 18" rims with a tough offset. It seems to be sitting lower than standard but coilovers will give you the adjustibility to get the stance perfect. Well Done.
  5. Have used J-Spec before and was very happy. Also had the compliancing done by GTAuto and again was very impressed. Wayne was ace!
  6. I can't remember if I have already posted some pics up of mine but here they are anyway. Hey Neil, how low is your car? Do you have scrubbing issues? What are sizes of your rims and what suspensions are you running? The reason I ask is that I have had my suspension raised slightly since these pics were taken to avoid scrubbing although my rims are 19X9 front and 19X10 rear which makes it slightly tricky but you have the stance that I am after. The pics you have taken look great. Feel free to come and take photos of my car anytime :sorcerer:
  7. Okay people, here are some videos I have loaded up on youtube. They aren't that great but will give those who didn't go an idead of what was being done on a few of the stations. Unfortunately the videos are only of Chris, black R33 coupe, grey R32 coupe and an extra hot M5 (sorry guys forgot your names) Did nobody else take any photos or videos? Please post em up if you have them especially any of that red JDM S15 (such a hot car) Chris, you are lucky I didn't get footage of your last run on the truck swerve where you thought you came in too quick
  8. Yo! , yeah that was me who took the vids for you. Got a couple more that I will post up later when I have the time. Was a great day, had heaps of fun and got to put faces to some of the many of the usernames. Big thanks to Kev and all the other organisers. Will definately be attending similar events in the future.
  9. In the last year my father sold his 2001 R34 GTR after owning it for only 10 months in favour of a brand new fully optioned A4 2.0TFSI quattro simply due to image. His boss and my mum hated the car with a passion and saw it as a 'hoon' car that wasn't appropriate for a 58 year old executive to drive. The reasons why the Audi was chosen over R34 GTR *IMAGE *Superior build quality *3 years included servicing * wife/boss hoon association with GTR The reason why my father misses the GTR *Audi handles like a dog when pushed over 70% (understeer everywhere) *Audi is gutless *Audi is so boringly common and sensible. Every other boring 58 year old man has a Audi, BMW, or Merc *Audi has too much poinltess wanker gadgetry *Audi and other German cars have the indicator stalks on the wrong size of the steering column making it difficult to shift and indicate. I often turn the wipers on when indicating. *GTR had the best driver focused interior layout with brilliant gearbox, clutch, steering combination (occasional tram lining though due to wide tyres) *GTR handling was second to no other standard car I have ever driven or been a passenger in *GTR was suprisingly practical for a daily as it could seat 4, had decent sized boot (2 sets of golf clubs), tractible off boost, suspension wasn't too hard *GTR pulled like a train on boost with fuel consumption being suprisingly good when not putting the boot in. The new 6.0V8 Calais was considered too but was just too big otherwise though a fantastic car except for the seats which were too wide (designed for increasing number of Australian obese fat people) We have had no problems with either car however I believe that if you want a new decent prestige German car that stands for more than being pretentious and cashing in on its brand image you are looking at approx $100k or beyond. I may be biased as I drive a fairly modified R33 however I would love an M3, Porsche or AMG over my Skyline but bang for buck wise there is no other car I would choose. Also I remember a few years back Wheels mag did a big Japan vs Germany thing and compared similar cars from each country against each other and from memory Japan won. The only comparison I can remember was the BMW 330i vs Subaru Liberty 3.0Rspec B which the Subaru won because it did 90% of what the BMW did for 55% of the price. Does anyone remember the rest of the article.
  10. My bad. I may have to order one now :sorcerer:
  11. I can't understand why they didn't emboss the wallets with the GTR logo. Otherwise they look pretty good.
  12. Malvern/Glen Iris/Armadale FTW
  13. Driving a jap car around the more affluent suburbs full of German cars is great because there aren't anywhere near the amount of police around to hassle you as there are compared to suburbs where most the streets are scorched with burnt rubber. That is except for anywhere around Chapel Street and Dandenong road
  14. Just change the stock fuel pump. Its not worth tryin to save a couple hundred bucks when it can result in a lean out and engine rebuild. Also if you choose to do other mods in the future its going to have to be changed anyway. Its not worth being a cheap ass over.
  15. Just paid my deposit. Can't wait to learn how to drive my car properly
  16. Neil - thats a great looking series 2 you got there. Having a silver car is definately good in that it doesn't show the dirt. Very similar to mine except I have different rims. Is it your artwork in the background?
  17. If it sounds too good to be true it more than likely is!
  18. Will number plates be blanked out or is that something I should do myself before sending you a pic?
  19. Count me in for a mid week meet sometime soon. Just not next week as the car is going into the tuners.
  20. Very sad to read this in the Age. I don't know if he was a club member however RIP and condolences to all involved. http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/chr...8778748945.html
  21. My garage got flooded that day. Luckily my car is too low to fit in the garage.
  22. Looks great. Quite unique too.
  23. 100% agree. Watch out for the Nismo 320kph dashes as they start from 0 when newly installed. How easy do you guys reckon it is to falsify the original service records?
  24. Sounds like you did very well to achieve a $7k changeover. A lot of people would be envious of your GTS25T sale price. Congratulations and pics of the new beast please.
  25. Power FC isn't designed for auto cars
