  1. Thats a good idea. I'll stop off at a servo on the way home
  2. There is more than just red dirt in york. They even have a car museum if you're interested
  3. Thats just what I thought. Don't worry, I've only driven with it once, and will only drive a few more times. I was watching the temp guage more than the road lol ... and I have plenty of extra coolent Oh... and I was driving like a grandma Falcon pulled up next to me and took off at the lights with the kid in the back laughing at my slow pace Better than frying my engine tho
  4. lol... mate, I know how to fix it. Its really simple. Want to do exactly what you have said, but I can't atm cause I'm stuck working. Tuesday will be the first chance I get. All I want to know is, will this tempory fix, (which I know is crap, but all I had available) going to have any impact and damage the car. I don't think it will, but like to be sure.
  5. Hey guys, I got home last night and heard something boiling from my engine bay. Scared the crap out of me. The engine temp guage was reading normal and everything. I openned up my bonnet to find coolent spraying across the top of me engine. The one water hose (the metal T-piece right at the front on the plenum) had a little pin hole in it. It was spraying coolent everywhere. The boiling was coming from the overflow tank. It was boiling cause the coolent level was too low, due to it spraying out all over my engine. Since I'm house sitting for a friend who has the bare minimum when it comes to tools, I've done a bit of a tempory fix. I removed the T-piece an wrapped it in electrical tape as tight as possible. I also refilled the radiator with water. This tape only lasted one half hour trip, but restricted the coolent from escaping. The radiator is still pretty full. I don't want to do this sort of thing too long. I want to fix it properly, but being sunday, nothing is open to get a replacement part. The problme is I really rely on my car for transport. I just want to know. If I keep this up for a few days, which I might have to do (will only get a chance to fix it on tuesday) will it do any damage? I don't think it will. More of a pain in the ass when I have to clean up all the coolent
  6. Didn't even think of that thats a much better idea. V8 commo ftw... not
  7. I'm getting more convinced on the GTR now Insurance shouldn't be too bad. If I get the GTR, I will have just turned 24 when I get it. I have a pretty good driving history too. Only one accident years ago, never lost my license and currently have all my points
  8. This is making my choice even more difficult lol. The respsonses have been really good tho. Made me think of a couple of other things too. It would be so awesome to own a GTR tho
  9. lol... still better than my internet at home
  10. If you install it correctly, then you don't need to cut the reo bar. Its illegal to cut it as it provides reinforcement. A lot of people rush the job and cut their reo instead of working slowly and putting it in right
  11. You guys bring up so many points for and against the arguement lol. I agree with what you are saying R Dirty 3. Buying a house and owning a GTR is not really something that goes well together. Still a difficult decision tho Going to have to think long and hard about this.
  12. Thats a good point phenline. It such a hard choice. I love my car atm. I think it looks hot, just in need of some suspension to bring it a bit closer to the ground and then the mods I was talking about.
  13. Buying the GTR and keeping mine would be awesome, but I also want to save for a house. lol It never ends. I want to get into the market and owning two cars makes saving a bit harder. Thats another negative for the GTR too as the costs to maintain etc are higher.
  14. Thats what I've been thinking. Its just so hard to save and not spend any money modding my current skyline
  15. Hey guys, I'm after some opinions on what to do. I'm about to finish my degree and have landing myself a good job that will pay quite well. I am keen to put a lot of money into my car when I start up full time, and have everything planned out. I want to first do a turbo conversion. I have done research and I can get a wreck from KYP for between $3.5k and $4k. Then of course it all needs to get swapped. That is engine, gearbox, diff, the lot. After this I have a list of mods that I would like to throw at it. I have once again done a lot of research and feel that I have found a nice balance of mods that will give me reliability as well as about 250 to 300 rwkw. This will cost around $10k to do. Now this is where the problem comes in. I was looking at R33 GTR's, and I was drooling over them. I would love to have one. Now the question comes in. Do I spend no more on my car and save that money and buy a GTR in about July next year, or do I continue with the mods planned. The reason this dilema has come up, is because I've noticed the prices of R33 GTR's have come down a lot in the past year and can be imported for less than $25k. If you add the value of my car plus all the mods, this figures comes pretty even. What I want to know is, how good is a GTR as a daily driver. If I get the GTR, the engine would stay fairly stock (or so I say now ) so it should be ok. I know the maintanence cost is higher, but thats ok. I just want some opinions from GTR owners at what they think would be the best way to spend my money. Sorry for the long essay
  16. That 350z is mad. All show tho. It will probably never see the street.
  17. Stock R33 rims are 16x6.5 +40 from memory. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure thats it. Can anyone else confirm?
  18. Have a look at my home speed I'm sure we're faster than that... cause that is a poor effort
  19. Yep... its that good I did it a couple more times. Got up to 27000
  20. Seen this car around before. Its a nice soarer. It sux when things like this happen. Hope you find her soon. Will keep an eye out
  21. I'm getting some Tein SS from Nengun in the next couple of months. They offer a really good price and the Tein SS are perfect for street driving. Do a lot of research and match the suspension to your application.
  22. Check this out Uni internet connection FTW Don't really want to test the home one
  23. How about we solve this problem once and for all. This is a very useful website http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp Use it and calculate for yourself weather your new rims will fit.
  24. Love the colour. I've always thought that orange really suits the R33.
