Yep, they're under there Spark plugs are a bit of a pain on RB's. Losen all the little bolts that hold that cover down as well as the ignition coil harness connector and the blowby hose, this will allow you to slide the rocker cover ornament out the front. Under that you'll see the coils and their connectors. Remove them one at a time and you'll see each plug under that. Change all plugs and put it all back

Hey trident, Why mask your plates... I never do cause I just figure everyone can see them when you're driving around anyway... what can someone do if they have got your plate number off the internet... or from anywhere else for that matter. Cheers

Cool... good to hear... my car needs a service soon and I was thinking of trying them out. Went to XSpeed before... who are also good, but C-Red is a lot closer to me They also deal with a lot of jap companies that i wouldn't mind getting some parts from

Engine Struggles To Start When Cold
NISZILA replied to NISZILA's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks WogsRus... In my many hours of searching the forum I read heaps of things you had written... I will be trying all these things and hopefully don't struggle as much as you did It may take a while to test each thing, because, as you said, you can only test what you tried once a day... I'll keep this post updated each weekend I try and make progress for all the others with the same problem... hopefully we get it sorted out If anyone else has any more insight, please let me know Cheers -

Engine Struggles To Start When Cold
NISZILA replied to NISZILA's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
My battery is brand new... found the most powerful one that would fit in the space I tried putting in new spark plugs, but no change and I always use BP Ultimate 98RON Didn't know about the oil though... I replaced the oil a few months back, can't remember the viscosity, but it was recomended to me by the mechanic for my car and its k's, so should be ok Any other ideas? When I start it after its already been started once in the day, the voltage doesn't drop as far. It drops to about 10 volts. Its only the first start on a cold morning that it drops really low and struggles. Thanks for the input so far guys -
My R33 struggles to start from cold. In the morning I'll start it and will need to really pump the accelerator before it will take. Every other start after that will be fine, but the next morning it struggles again. I always leave it on ignition only for a few seconds for the whole thing to get ready before I actually start. From reading just about half the posts on SAU I have found that this is a fairly common problem and there are many possible causes I think I have narrowed it down though and need some other opinions I have a volt meter in my car and when starting it will drop to about 8 volts... from what I understand... this is way too low If I understand correctly, this is caused by the starter motor arcing due to worn brushes I was thinking of getting a starter motor from a wreck and swapping them over to test the result Does this seem like the logical next step? Does anyone have any other opinions on the problem? My car is a '93 R33 Series I GTS In summer when the temperature is higher, the car starts fine, but the voltage still goes to around 8 volts. Thanks... really want this sorted

I have this exact problem... been searching for answers all morning... have you figured is out WogsRus? I really want to get this problem sussed

Haha... I took him to pick up the car this morning Its an awesome car... took it for a test drive and I love it... has made me want to upgrade from my gts to a gtst Congrats man... guess I'll see you around the forum a bit now

With the higher compression ratio, i wouldn't be running more than 7psi... unless you want things to go BANG!! To change the compression ratio, get a really think gasket... this will lift the head and make the compression ratio less. Then you can increase boost a bit more safely. As the others have said... I wouldnt't run the numbers you're taking about on a stock engine... To better answer your question... what other supporting mods have you got... or is your engine totally stock with a turbo wacked on and the boost cranked?
-
Pretty hard to say... I reckon you could get about $2.5k for the engine if all parts were there and working... espessially the turbo... so it would have to come down from there. For the gear boxes... a gtst gear box would normally go for about $1k, i don't know the gts4 gear boxes well, but considering its a non-turbo, if its similar to the gts, it is not as strong and the ratios different... if its a stagea box... i have no idea Hope this gives you a bit of an idea If anyone has a different opinion... feel free to say so... cause this is a ruff estimate based on what I've seen

Check out this thread... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=130489 Its full of R33's

The only thing I'd worry about is that you may not have enough pressure for all cylinders to get even distribution of air. I might be wrong, but it is my understanding that this is good in theory, but in practice the cylinders at the back lean out.

Oil Pressure........please Help!
NISZILA replied to RBRolla's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You need to be more specific... your oil pressure will vary as you drive, while the engine is cold, the pressure is high. If you put your foot to the floor, even more so when its cold, your pressure will be high. If the engine is warm and you're just idling, then it will be low Hope this helps -
If you have pics, post them up... I never go into the city so have no idea what you guys are on about
