Surly some one knows how much it would cost. Been looking at cars in Melbourne and Syndey and don't know the best way to get them to Perth. Any ideas??
-
Cool, I might come down. First time I've had a weekend night off work in months. Better be worth it
-
Just got mine done. Custom 3 inch pipes all the way to the cat
-
Thats what I have, and it sounds awesome. Do it! As soon as you start it up, you'll have a grin from ear to ear

A friend of mine is looking to buy a second hand car. Since the range isn't that great in perth for the cars he is looking at, he was thinking of getting something from the eastern states. Does anyone have any experience doing this. We are wondering what prices and methods are available. Thanks in advance

From what I understand, the sound has a lot to do with the size of the body as well as the size of the outlet. This muffler has a 7 inch body, which is really big, but it means that the sound is really deep. It sounds awesome, just at idle it sounds as though my car is ready to eat anything else for breakfast, even though its pretty well stock atm and not that fast I'd say it would sound different

I got it from ebay. Yea, it is 5 inch. Sounds awesome. Or in Kermits words 'she sounds angry, really angry' Here's the link http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...p;rd=1&rd=1

Help Choosing Parts For A New Turbo Motor
NISZILA replied to R33GTS25's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Don't listen to these guys. You have a goal, so go for it. I'm in the exact same boat. I also have an R33 GTS, and will be doing the engine swap too. The differnces you need to know... - The gear box is different, you will need a GTSt one. - The diff, while it is LSD on the GTS, is still different. - The brakes, as you know. - The ECU will need to be either a GTSt one or an aftermarket one. I think thats the most of it... I haven't done this swap yet, but I've done a bit of research. I have a similar goal to you. I will be buying a half cut and then working on the engine to produce a reliable 300rwkw before I do the swap. Before I buy the half cut though, I'm doing other stuff eg brakes, suspension, new interior etc. Maybe giv Chessa on these forums a PM. I've spoken to her a bit. She has an R33 and has done this conversion. I'm sure she'd be happy to help. -
You wouldn't want to do that anyway. An N/A has a compression ratio of 10.1 or there abouts and a turbo around 8.5 i think. Without the turbo your 'un-turboed' car would be an absolute slug. Don't do it.

Doesn't matter who you go with. At your age, they are all like that. Thats why I waited, just drove a normal four door lancer with no mods and no go. Now that I'm 22 I have a good insurance record and can acctually afford to keep my R33 insured I still pay $1200 (with mods), but that will drop a bit this year.

Thats a really good question, I'd also like to know the answer to that as my passeanger side plastic guard is missing

1 Month Till I Go Shopping

Check this thread out. This will answer a lot of your questions http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=35129 -
I have read that entire thread as well as some others. There are many valid points and things to consider. As I said in my initial post, I have always been thinking that I would get a half cut, I just wanted some more info or opinions on the points I posted. I know about getting stronger internals etc, but the main reason why I was considering this is due to the N/A compression ratio. It means that with a turbo it hits boost pretty much instantly and pulls hard even at low revs. It can work provided you only boost to about 7psi. Any more and pistons will fry. Just trying to get more info and opinions before I make any decisions. I could get the gtst pistons and the compression will be able to handle greater amounts of boost. ... And AndyMac. No I'm not on my P's or have a restricted licence. I'm 23 years old and got my licence at 17. I don't think I'm some superman driver or anything and I didn't buy the car because I saw it in a movie. I know a lot about the engine and would like to do most of the work myself where I can. I bought an N/A R33 because I'd never driven a rear wheel drive before and wanted it to be a stepping stone rather than get into something with more power and not have my driving up to standard. I'm used to the rear wheel drive now that I've owned the car for a year and just want to do proper research before I decide exactly what I want to do. Sorry about the rant. Just trying to get as much info as I can

Hey guys I have a series I R33 GTS. I want to do a turbo conversion and have always had the idea that I would buy a GTSt half cut and do a whole engine, gear box etc. swap. I've just found an opportunity, however, to buy an R33 turbo, actuator, elbow and manifold. I know I will still need a couple of other bits, i.e. fmic , but I was wondering if I should forget this and stick with the idea of doing an entire engine swap with a half cut, or wack the turbo on my current engine. A few things to consider 1. The gear box is different between the N/A and turbo. How much will this effect me? 2. Tuning the engine. Is it worth the hassle of getting this engine working with turbo or would it be easier to wait and get a half cut. 3. Cost, which is the cheaper option. I don't want a dodgy conversion, but I would like an idea after everything what is best. 4. My engine is just short of 140,000 k's, so its not too old, the turbo had done 70,000, so not too bad either. 5. Is there anything else I need to consider. Thanks heaps for any info R33-GTS BTW, I did do a search and hav read the N/A to turbo conversion threads. I just need some more opinions

Some B***h Keyed My Car In Front Of Fast Eds!
NISZILA replied to Slowpoke's topic in Western Australia
I hate dickheads like this that have no respect. My car was keyed outside my work all the way down the passenger side right across the whole door and the rear quater panel. Couldn't believe the size of it. Was so pissed off. I always park my car right out front and I'm always looking out to see that no one is around it. When some old bomb car parks next to mine, I even go outside and watch them get in or out of their car. Suck that we have to be so paranoid. Good luck with finding them. -
As you can see from the picture below, still with standard suspension my car looks like an air bus... I can't really lower it because of my killer driveway. I always go over the curb at an angle, but due to the really steep drop, my car only misses by about 1 inch. I found this suspension on the top secret site... and this will still perform as a performance suspension as well as have the ability to adjust my cars ride height so I can get down my driveway. Now my question is, does anyone know where I can get this product or get a similar product at a reasonable cost? I can't find anything in Australia. The guys at XSpeed (Perth) said they could get it from top secret for me, but the price is insane, just cause of the top secret name. Any info would be great. Thanks guys

I get a similar quote from my mum. She likes it when I'm parked in the driveway when people come over. Apparently all her friends want to have a good look
-
You won't believe how fimiliar that sounds. lol
-
Wow!!! My girlfriend is always saying to me "you're too obsessed with your car", but I guess we're all in that same boat by the sounds

Ok, I'm home from work, and am feeling quite awake... so I thought I'd take some pics Not the best pics, light was not great, but as you can see, damage is not too bad. It is only a bit worn on the top and on the side of the T-piece as pictured. I have no idea what this would be worth, has anyone else got some idea?
-
Yep, gotta go to work now, but I'll take some pic tomorrow and post them up
