  3. I have a few real RB24S lying in my friends garage. So its RB24s. Not a rb20stroker or rb25 destroker )))
  4. Z32 ecu will start up your car even if you didn't do the wire swap. Starts right up. Anyone to comment on the fuel temp thingy ? And I think the TPS issue is being addressed now on nistune forums by matt.

  6. I have seen it a couple of times on rb25det engines already. Like you gun it in 2nd gear, 4k, 5k, 6k and it like splutters. You think it should do the usual rev-limiter bounce, but it doesn't. It goes like brrr, like engine is running out of breath with very strange sound. Doesn't sound like the coil-pack misfire. Anyone had this before ? When you rev it in neutral, nothing strange happens it just rev cuts at late 6k. Any ideas what could it be ?
  7. Offtopic. I was looking at my broken rb25 turbo today and how do you out a bush-bearing cartridge in there ? Bush bearing cartridges suppose to be bigger in diameter and longer than factory, right, no ? Could picture it in my mind. Spacers to make it fit to factory exhaust housing ?
  8. I had shit kind of problem. Laptop with no com ports. And I needed 2 com ports. 1 for nistune and one for LM-1 wideband. There were only 2 usb ports and 2 adapters didn't want to go together, so I got a usb splitter. 1 com adapter to splitter, 1 directly to usb. + 1 usb mouse in the splitter(if you owned sony laptops you would know, their touch pad sucks). In the end only 1 com is recognized. No matter how I tried it. Damn. So frustrating when you are out there sitting in the car with all those devices. And shitty 12v>240v converters don't help also I guess.

  10. For a simple setup, how would you guy recommend to do the best crank case ventilation system on RB ? Just vent it to atmosphere or a something like DG has?
  11. hmmm. Haven't got around making a leak down tester. So no leak down test results yet. Hmmm. I would see 11afrs at WOT. And usuall 14.7-15 at idle. I wouldn't say I'm overfuelling.
  12. Interesting to see how it turns out eventually. As TROY said, whats wrong with those rb20s ? They just shit on any other rb in terms of live cycle stock vs stock. I took my pretty stock rb20(rb25 turbo) stock ecu everything to the track. No oil catch can etc. Oil cooler and a bit overfill. I was out there for the whole day, revving it. The lowest oil pressure under braking I got was 1.5bar. It didn't use any oil at that time nor run any bearings or any usual rb-failures. RB25s on the other hand.

  17. I will be observing my oil levels during next few weeks. I don't drive often. If the one way valve fixed the issue - I'm all ok. And oil burning now is the oil left in the intercooler/pipings. I reckon. If not I will need to dig further. Any more ideas on diagnosing the problem ?
  18. Ok. Compression tested today haha. 9.5 in cylinder 6. Other 5 - 10. Motor is in a pretty good nik. Hmmm. after some observation. The hose from cam cover to pcv valve was blocked. So pcv valve was blocked all the time. Changed the hose didn't change anything. Still smokes. So my other intelligent guess is turbo is farked. Any more ideas ? If I give it rev at idle. It only smokes after near up to redline rev. And it smokes when the revs drop to idle. Also smokes like crazy when accelerating under load. Around 3-4k rpm. And no, I don't have an oil catch tank installed yet. What do you guys think ?
  19. Pls update your thread with pics. And do you reckon leaving holset original internal wastegate is a good idea ? What psi is holset actuator opens at ?
  20. Just swap all the wiring from rb20 to rb25. But no VCT. Use some cam controller or a aftermarket tacho with big warning light, to switch VCT off when u need in the rev range.
  21. Hmmm. My rb20 started to use oil. I've thought its the turbo before, so changed to rb25 turbo. Now I went to another city and had my oil change before that. Oil level was a tad higher than H mark. Came there. Checked oil level next morning. Its on L mark ?Engine cold. People say it smokes on high rpm. Highway cruising was at around 140, no lower than 100. With 3-4 accelerations to 180. Didn't check compression yet. So my question is: is this it ? The end ?))) Oil pressure is good according to greddy gauge. Never goes lower than 1,5bar at idle. Usually 2bar. 4bar is very easy as revs climb.
  22. Its better ti change headgasket and head studs. But what if you don't do it ? Like its ok if I don't plan to take off the head again ?

  24. Early/Late spec RB20 had different banjo fittings as I'm aware of.
  25. My rb20 runs 14.7-15.6 on idle. Something wrong. Unplug the O2 sensors and see if the numbers change. If no change - dead O2 sensors.
