The problem is in the ECU plug. Its R34 type. Not the usual blue one. Other than that its a r33 s1.5 or s2 engine. No igniter, but mitsi cas. Pink label airflow meter.

It can be done. But the compression ratio will be way off.

I think it shouldn't be that bad. Trent will probably advice to use field ecu harness. same plugs on both sides, just with wires, makes for a neat install. But damn I would really like to hear one thing: I've done it it was hard but doable ))) And it works ! lol. What we get with s1 stagea is all r33 gear. and r34-type ecu plug. So if you rewire the plug to connect to r34 ecu, make it work with tps/cas/acc, you should be able to fire up the engine. Btw. This stagea engine got a pink label AFM. Like S2 R33s and R34 NEOs. Freak engine.

I didn't ask nistune. I don't think they know ))) Hmmm. Anyone tried using r34 ecu in r33 s2 cars ? like stagea s1 ? r33 engine with gray r34-ish ecu plug?

I belive z32 runs blue ecu plug like s1 r33 rb25. But stagea s1 rb25 has r34-type gray plug.

My friend got stagea rb25 s1 engine in his A31. And we want to put nistune in. I'm trying to figure out how can it be done ? Engine electronics looks like r33 series 1, but ecu plug is r34 type(grey). I've read that ecu is identical to r33, but more sensitive to boost increase. Like jumping to R&R mode even with slight boost increase. I think if I can fit r34 ecu, redo some wiring and use nistune. I'm pretty sure its possible to do. Has anyone done it before ? Anyone else running nistune in their S1 stageas ? How did you do it ? Any input is much appreciated !

Can we use OS gearset for SR20 in RB20 box ? Anyone tried ?

Just wanted a quick check. My friend got a c34 engine in his car. Its rb25det. Electronic vise its like early r33 engine. I didn't check the coilpacks though. CAS is mitsu, the TPS sensor is like on r32/early r33/rb26. But the ECU socket is gray like NEO engine, and consists of 3 plugs. Not like old nissans - blue plug/socket. So my question is will I be able to get a NEO nistune board into that ECU and will it work ? Or ecu internals are like old r33 ? Need some input. Thanks!

And an rb25 had a small one. Small one costs more. What are the benefits of running a smaller oil filter if none ? I always thought, that the bigger the oil filter, the more oil it can hold, the better ?
