Hey all, I know this is an old thread but I recently had to do this again and I was unable to find the "hole" in the steering column to pop out the horn from the rear. As it turns out the R32 GTR steering wheels come in two varities depening on the age. The older style wheel has plastic on the back which follows the wheel spokes (such as the one I have). The other newer variety has a round plastic cover on the back. This newer style wheel is the one mentioned in the service manual. I was unable to see any way to access the horn from the rear via the steering column so I ended up using the same method for extracting the horn button. There is another thread with somebody showing the two styles of wheels on this forum. I hope this update is of use to somebody out there. Cheers, Sean

Hey all, As per the title I'm keen for a set of standard BNR32 suspension both fronts and rears. I'm not fussed if the shocks are stuffed but please no damaged, twisted or rusted items please. Surface rust is fine however. I'm located in Victoria. Please PM me if you have a set. Cheers, Sean

Thanks for the info mate, you're 100% correct on that one. I didn't have access to the workshop manual at the time of the original write up For those playing at home, Link - Page 592

Side Indicator Lamp - Help Needed Identifying
Sean'O replied to Sean'O's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Hey all, Just to keep you in the loop how the search is going. I went down to Toyota today to pick up the lamp but sadly there were two issues; 1. The colour was incorrect (admittedly the bloke was unable to confirm the colour, worth a shot though) 2. The lamp does have a rubber seal but it's different from the other one already on the car and appears to be the same "thin" rubber seal that broke last time (not really interested in using it) I brought the parts guy out to the car to show him exactly what type of rubber seal I was after but he was unsure. After a bit of hunting around in their system I suggested maybe a Toyota Starlet had the correct seal (I saw one at the shops the other day and both the lamp and seal looked very similar to what I was after). Luckily for the Starlet lamp I'm able to buy the rubber seal separately which is good considering the lamp for the Camry I won't be using and hopefully some bloke will buy it on Ebay I'll give you all an update once the Starlet seal comes in, Cheers, Sean -

Side Indicator Lamp - Help Needed Identifying
Sean'O replied to Sean'O's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks for the info guys, I'll try Toyota on Monday morning to see if they are able to track those numbers I've tried all the usual sources like Bursons, SuperCheap, AutoBarn, internet searching etc I'll let you know how it goes Cheers, Sean -
Hey all, I have a good one for all the investigators out there. I’m trying to get my hands on a replacement rubber seal for the below pictured “Hella” side indicators on an R32 GTR. I've attached some images... I have found several numbers on the lamp however sadly according to Hella they have been manufactured specifically for a car manufacturer and they are unable to tell me which one *facepalm*. These lamps would have been fitted during compliance and I can see a date of 2005. Numbers below; 1. On the side there is a "Hella" paper sticker. Code: D27691 Date: 23NOV05. 2. Pressed into the rear side of the light I can see: 81730YC020 3. Pressed into the clip of the light I can see: B1730 YA020 I have also spoken with Nissan and they are able to replace the whole lamp with the ones that came on the Australian Delivered R32s however the issue I have is two part; 1. The lamp offered by Nissan appear to be a different shape looking at the Australian Delivered examples on the Forum and may not fit into the existing hole in the fender (really don’t want to cut any metal for the sake of replacing a rubber seal) 2. They a pretty pricy and would much rather just get a replacement seal If anybody knows where I can get my hands on a replacement seal I’m more than happy to buy you a six pack Cheers lads, Sean

Hey all, When I purchased my BNR32 I wanted to get a genuine key copy however the original key had the key code scratched off for whatever reason. Since the original key was quite worn down, having the key cut by the local key cutter at the shopping centre was a bad idea as it wouldn't be an exact cut. From my hunting around you have two options depending on when your Nissan is from; 1. Your car is Australian delivered: Speak with Nissan and they can supply you the key code once you verify you are the owner via the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). 2. Your car was imported from Japan: Speak with a good locksmith and they will be able to 'read' the key and essentially reverse engineer the code from the original. Once you have the key code, speak with a lock smith to have your key cut exactly according to the key code. As my car was imported from Japan I had to go down option two and was referred by Nissan to a local locksmith who was able to help me out Cheers,

Hey all, I recently bought an engine undertray for my 32GTR while i was in Japan for a holiday It set me back 7,928 yen (excluding tax and the 10x bolts required for install) Part number for the 32 undertray is 7589005U60, in Japanese it's " エンジンロアー" or "engine lower" in ye' old English Cheers, Sean

Like I said, I'm not here to preach. People can research and make up their own minds (tv isn't research)

Hey all, Im not here to preach so I'll cut right to it. If you've been following the nuclear disaster in Japan and want to get involved there are some protests regarding uranium mining around the country happening soon. If you're interested, check out link below http://www.acfonline.org.au/get-involved/events/day-action-end-uranium-mining Cheers

i do agree with this idea... i havn't read all replies but how about it's not required for all drivers but if you sit the re-test say every 2 years, Vicroads pays the bill for the test and you get cheaper rego? People who don't sit the test pay higher/the same rego to cover cost of tests. Good drivers are rewarded, lazy/rich/crap drivers foot the bill

Hey all, Some good news, went back to the station this afternoon and found a few of my tools, most of them however are long gone I did some snooping while I was there and found a lot of the graffiti around the station was done by the same person/ people who damaged the car, reported everything to the cops, hope they catch him on CCTV doing this and can make an ID If you happen to see a person doing this "Toxic/Tonic bla bla" tag around Bayswater call the cops (and then send me a PM )

Couldn't agree more mate Blasting classical music seemed to keep them away, not sure if they do that anymore... I've only seen justice served out to these pricks once at Ringwood, an officer shoved one of them up against a fence for being a smart ass, everyone on the station had a smile on their face Sad thing I suppose is they clear them out of a station after something bad happens and they just move to the next one...then come back
-
Not really sure, probably around 9'ish Suppose i'm happy I got there after they left, could have easily got stabbed with a screwdriver if I caught them in the act I hope they catch them, there are a lot of nice cars at that station which could get damaged, usually see a few skylines there too

The only thing that I can think of is a while ago I got to my car late at night and I was trying to start it (had an issue with the dizzy so it was a bit hard to start cold, has been fixed recently though) While trying to crank it a few times I thought I flooded the engine so figured I would give it a moment to settle, just tapping away on my phone waiting and some kids walked up and sat on the bonnet of the car (they didn't realise I was in the car) I asked them to get off the car, no punches or anything like that, they didn't seem to care and they didn't say anything so I didn't think much of it If I had to guess I would say it was them, can't remember their faces though, just the usual station scum. I only just recently bought this car so maybe somebody had a thing against the previous driver? I dunno..
