  1. There are no facts to support road deaths in open speed limits. Noone (that I am aware) has died up here on our open roads because they have been going too fast. Most death come form communities where locals are in a landcruiser and it rolls on a dirt road and noone is wearing seat belts, or in town accidents common to all other capital city accidents.
  2. Well... There is a limited number of speed cameras up here. No fixed cameras, the majority of them are in the new police cars. Our road cameras are in big white vans with POLICE written all over them and reflective stickers, so if you don't see them, you deserve to be done. NT have the best roads in Australia and we have some of the best cars coming up here doing speed tests down the highway before production and sales. I'd like to see our cop cars chase down the latest Ferrari or Porsche.
  3. Ah that's not too bad... I was freaking thinking you were going to say a couple hundred. All rebuilds need those new parts?
  4. Haha! I haven't learnt that one yet... god damn! I'll get the Gates belt tomorrow, and I just ordered my ARP head studs from www.performancewholesale.com.au - AWESOME service, very very helpful and I highly recommend them. The studs will be here tomorrow morning at 10am. How much did those extra parts you needed come to Sinista?
  5. Thanks for that Sinista! I found a gates timing belt in stock here in Darwin... who would have thought Paul - Thanks for the site, will give them a bell right now.
  6. Thanks for the heads up...
  7. Noone is going to abide by it, so I don't see what the problem is.
  8. Afternoon, I need to order some ARP head studs and a timing belt, and I need them to go on air freight hopfully today. Does anyone know any dealers I can call that will have some in stock for an rb25 gtst? Cheers, Phee
  9. I was running 280rwkw on stock internals, and the only reason she went up was cause she leaned out. It's more a case of knowing everything is reliable than anything else. But as I said, that's just my opinion.
  10. Sounds like it. Could also be the fuel pump struggling to keep up?
  11. You might not get much of a choice when you start hitting big figures. Price up some 20thou Arias forged pistons, adjustable cam gears, cometic head gasket, full bearing and gasket kit, ARP studs etc. Once you have that done you can add on whatever you like without the worry of putting a rod through the block or melting a piston. Worth the piece of mind IMO.
  12. Yeah I am keen to see what she puts out aswell. Rebuild started today so in 2 weeks she'll be back on the road, then Kakadu and katherine here I come for the engine run in
  13. GTR rods are at home, so can't take a pic of them. These photos are bad quality and I am at work so don't have much time to f**k around with them but meh... you get the idea Rods arrived Friday, everything else today.
  14. Ask them how much they are willing to pay for it, and think about how much you're willing to part with it. You'll work on a compromise inbetween. (hopefully at your end!) I hope the sales go well and you get back on your feet in no time. Good luck with it all.
  15. I could be interested. I'm just reading a few reviews about them now and I'll let you know soon. You'll have to send to Darwin though. Is that a problem? edit: stupid typos
  16. Hey mate, nice car, nice rims too... I'm Phee, in Darwin and own a R33 GTST. Welcome to the Territory!
  17. this thread is useless without pics
  18. Ultimate is sold at almost every servo up here. teher are servo's everywhere.
  19. I have a ball bearing t70 turbo The GTR rods I am picking up couldn't be any cheaper if I tried.
  20. oooOOOooooh f**k yeah R31Nismoid, I will more than likely end up staying with the stock camshaft due to lack of interest. Depends on how much power I get from the dyno and if I am riding the line the decision will be based on what is the safest option.
  21. Looks like I have a set of GTR rods lined up. I'll get some proper studs and do the job correctly. The only thing missing will then be the camshaft which can easily be done at a later date.
  22. the standard rb25 gtst rods are good for about 500hp I have been told
  23. Hmm... didn't think of that option. I'll see if I can source some locally.
  24. I don't know how many of you care, but I thought I would let those interested know what's going on. Car is still off the road. Nothing new there. Sticking with the rb25, no rb30 bottom end for me, at the end of the day it seemed all too hard for the mechanics up here. I am getting the engine rebuild up here in Darwin through a mates good friend. He isn't charging labour so WIN! Motor was stripped down and 4 pistons had melted, the other 2 were damn close in getting there. Ordered parts: Arias 20thou forged pistons, 0.074" metal head gasket, full gasket and bearing kit as well as adjustable cam gears for a little over $2k. Managed to get that price through another mate who works at Indy's and is only charging them at cost. When they arrive (begining of next week) block goes in for machining and everything gets installed. Car should be back on the road by the end of this month / first week of October. Dale (mate from PF) if flying up to tune her for me. I had a few people interested in getting their cars tuned by Dale as well so he will do their cars and then we will all go to the pub and get pissed. Dale will fly home and my "f*ken whooooosh" will be back shooting flames through the dual cannons. LOL Or not... Anyway, so there you go. Rods and camshafts will be ordered at a later date. More than likely after I move into my new job and earning a bit more cash. Mates rates is saving me around 3k... good news since the car has been off the road since 23rd May
