  1. link to tie rod end DIY - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ti...&hl=tie+rod
  2. an auto electrician would probably charge the earth to do diagnostic testing on it to figure out whats wrong with the lighting. unless they have worked on skylines before. Also I see you say side lights. do you mean your side indicators or your headlights? Tie rod ends really are a piece of piss to replace. there is a tute on how to do it in the DIY section. I did mine 2 days ago in about 45 mins. All you need is a few spanners and a hammer
  3. not sure about the 33 but in my 32 I had to replace the switch assembly itself. the one located in the car which is used to turn the lights on and off. My parkers always worked but one low beam and one high beam never worked. The small contact points in the switch assembly had worn off and therefore that sides lights never worked. Tie rod ends are $23 each to replace from autobarn, $130 from nissan, it is however possible the steering rack is stuffed and therefore you have play in the steering wheel. Maybe see if someone in your area off here could just come look at it and give you a hand for a carton of beer or something. good luck with it.
  4. the part numbers for each trim panel
  5. Hey mate, I know that picture. Its got my shoe in it, haha. You can buy these trims new from nissan. Not likely to find them in good condition second hand, I think most are brittle from the sun and peeling. From memory they are roughly $130 a piece
  6. Yes I think I shall be getting the ones from autobarn. I called fulcrum today to get a quote on a wheel alignment after I replace the tie rods and asked about the legality of rose joint tie rod ends. The guy I spoke to wouldn't comment and said I should contact QLD transport. Which makes me think they might not be legal. So I wonder what insurance would say if for some reason I had to make a claim and they found "illegal" steering components on the vehicle. Cheers for the input
  7. Hey guys, need to replace my tie rod ends on my 32 gtst. Have been quoted $130 each from nissan, $23 each from autobarn, or adjustable ones from Just jap for $149 for the pair (see image) Looking at getting the ones from autobarn as I cant see why nissan ones are worth 5 times more. Has anyone replaced their tie rod ends with generic ones and had a bad experience? Also, could anybody shed some light on what is adjustable on the just jap ones? Obviously they can be wound in and out. It appears that the bolt on the top might allow for some form of adjustment? Any ideas? Cheers

  9. you can get rods to weld stainless and alloy with an arc. But to weld alloy you require a DC arc welder. Most household units are AC. As Project-GT4-TT said, allweld make electrodes to weld stainless to mild steel as well as standard stainless rods
  10. I have some pics too. was here with a mate and his RX7. its not a skyline but nice none the less.
  11. might be a noob question but anyway. I've seen electrodes for an arc welder that are suitable for stainless steel. Is it possible to weld stainless with an arc welder? Anyone tried it if it is possible?
  12. sorry just read what mods it has
  13. photos would be good if possible. any other info, mods or is it stock?
  14. heres the nissan part number for the coil pack loom, could be superseded but they should be able to check: Part Number Description 24079-01U00 HARNESS ASSY-EGI SUB
