  1. from it being a R33 i think your stuck to removing the front prop shaft, the clutch assembly is preloaded. Now i don't know if that is hydraulic preload of mechanically in the transfer case. If it was R32 there would be no issue.
  2. You don't need a twin plate for that power, but i DO NOT recommend exedy twin plates even sprung center, she house to drive.
  3. u do need a smaller one, most i have for sr20s etc is the 22 mm carrier i think its heaps too big. I dunno the size of the KTS pivot to advise.
  4. Unis in my front drive shaft are stuffed, they are the non replaceable type. Anyone had these milled out and put replaceable ones in or should i just find a good condition 2nd hander? I remember that non replaceable unis was a royal pain in a tail shaft i had years ago. Cheers
  5. well it all depends, what i did was use a 16mm carrier with a 16 mm bearing (small usually like 22ish) then it was a little bit too small, so i spaced the pivot ball out 2mm. You can change pivot ball spacing, bearing and carrier. goto nengun, they have the ORC bearings and a link to the ORC web site, on the last or 2nd to last page of the catalogue it has all nissan part numbers for the carriers. I just ordered a brand new nissan 14mm carrier and dont need it so if u want it i will sell to u for what ever it cost me (they week wait special order from japan)
  6. I don't think you will have an issue, SR20 (etc) don't seem to suffer and they are pretty much the opposite of what you have just done.
  7. tell you in a week or 2 what the -5 is like just putting the car back together -5s tomei 260s cam gears sard 700s / 044 nismo afm tomei dumps, blitz front pipe, custom 3.5" rest of exhaust power fc Going to run 20 psi.
  8. When the bearings lose spread doesn't that mean it can be a sign of detonation pounding them out?
  9. At uni a guy done his thesis on inverter vs normal compressors for ac as he works for an AC company. It worked out if you run the AC flat out, normal is slightly better, but when the compressor does not have to work continuously, inverter is better by about 15% or so. He said for a regular house situation inverter is the way to go.
  10. guilt, what voltage input does the vipec use for wide band input?
  11. I am the same, i have a autronic in another car and its awesome, i want to try the vipec but i HATE being burnt by new products, seem to stick with the known good now. but it seems good and im getting OVER pfc missfire.
  12. lol SR is like 1000 bucks new or something dumb. Go the wrecker or get yours recoed.
  13. It doesn't slide on by hand, it does stop, but it pulls on real easy with the crank bolt pulling it on. But its not the interference fit that its meant to be. Not sure if to just leave it and do bolt up to proper torque, i mean what else can i do, unless this balancer is wrong ID from factory.
  14. So what do you think the answer is? I mean yours is ok still lol. I measured up the std balancer, and its 30.00 to 30.01, so loose fit too. Im thinking its using 460 Nm to apply pressure thought he face to the gear that drives the cam belt then to the crank, because it doesn't matter what friction surface it uses.
  15. I will check, ill be back, i think this is the reason for 460 Nm on a RB26 bolt.
  16. nah that cant be right, i pulled the balancer on with just the crank bolt, and only the engine compression holding the crank in position. If i wanted a 0.02mm interference fit, my balancer would need to be 29.98 mm and crank being 30.00
  17. I did What has been your interference fit on you ati balancer? Did you have to hone yours out?
  18. anyone, DIRT??
  19. Hey, this is for everyone using ATI balancers on rb series motors, specifically rb26 I have one going on my gtr, they say you want approx 0.02 mm interference fit (even a bit bigger is ok) I measured up my std crank, 30.00, checked on another crank i have 30.00 as well, miced up the ati balancer and its 30.00 as well!, they say they are undersized and need to be honed, i have no material to hone, ita already too big! Now, do i have a dud balancer, or is this the reason RB26 calls for over double the torque on the balancer bolt? Cheers
  20. Depends, stock afm will goto around 320 rwkw work of air flow, i still had a load cell left after 280 rwkw. You can always load the last cell with fuel, its not ideal but you can make a lot of power beyond what the afm can read. Saying that i dont like to do it and went to nismo items
  21. got a pic? Its probably just a mac valve.
  22. He isnt my turbo guy, i just went there to buy some studs to install these puppies, then he harped on about this other shit and i just wanted to check. I have other ballbearing turbos on sr20s and my friends s14 with no issues what so ever.
  23. thanks mate
  24. My turbos are the 2860 -5 turbos, but my original question was the turbo guy was saying there isn't enough oil, rather then too much, which i find hard to believe.
