Removing Hicas On R32 Gtr
GTR1993 replied to oRiCLe's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
IF i am to keep the GTR pump and loop it like sydney kid does, can i also block the solenoid on the rack to retain the light steering? They are independant of the pump you are using yes? -
8 Questions On Rb26dett Rebuild ?
GTR1993 replied to Sinista32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This is totally hypothetical so i dont know if this it true: When you go to a larger duration camshaft low end performance suffer because of the increased overlap (i know this doesnt have to be true but generally increased duration has increased overlap) Anyway, with increased duration low rpm performance suffers, now cranking a cut is very low rpm only few 100 rpm, does this mean that there will be a lower PSI reading as increased overlap is bleeding off cylinder compression?? -
ah yes file works just rename the extension.

what about changing diff gear ratios? I have tryed this on my car personally and found that there is very little power difference, even when we changed ramp rates from 100 to 150 only a few kW difference. also the link isnt working for me.

I actualy run a second 044 and regulator just for the nitrous, i would assume a rb20 pump would eaily do it as a rb20 makes more then 150 hp stock anyway. as for when it kicks in generally people will say you only want to hit it at around 4000, but you also want to stop it before limiter as there can be some big bangs if you dont. Ideally you want to have it computer controlled to be switched between 4000 and a few 100 rpm below limiter, then you can also have a switch on your tb to make sure that is open fully, then say a switch on your steering wheel to actually activate it.

8 Questions On Rb26dett Rebuild ?
GTR1993 replied to Sinista32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
In regard to your compression test, i am unsure if it is normal but i bought my car that already was built with forged pistons and a 1.2mm head gasket, it also has tomei cams that are around 260 degree (i dont know till i pull covers off exact specs arnt written on the recipts) but i also comp tested at 120psi. -
ok, well if the slave has been sleeved twice reducing its diameter (area) take the equation, force = pressure x area, now i think this is the correct way to interpret it, force on clutch to depress it is always the same, so the variable is pressure (applied by your foot) and area. reduce area, same pressure by your foot means less force, so to bring the force back up to what u need you must apply larger pressure int he hydraulic system. I have a Xtreme twin plate in my GTR and seems quite light to the other big singles im used to, but this can vary i have a single with 1600 kg clamping force and it is as light as a stock clutch in a 180sx as the pivot points on the clutch plate have been modified. sweet cant wait, just in time for the holidays! (just what i want to be doing lol)

You have to tee off somewhere before the fuel reg obviostly, or run a 2nd reg after the first at a lower pressure, or a seperate fuel system. On my system i run a 2nd pump just for the gas. Direct port is nice, i run the same on my car. Make sure you take a whack of timing out, i have no experience witht he rb30e in regards to how much timing it uses but i would take at least 5 degrees out minimum, with 150 shot cylinder pressures will be up quite a bit.

280rwkw, Stock Turbos Stock Boost
GTR1993 replied to sparkmanv11's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
it cant, but i have seen it before, the sensor is suposed to be put infront of the filter to get the air the motor is sucking in but sometimes it sits on something cooler (still a bit baffeled how you would get something cooler then ambient in the engine bay). To get the most accurate results i have found to just hand the sensor up on the dyno, at IT and AT are always the same, if the motor sucks some hotter air it will make slightly less power with out compensation, but same car should do the same each time. Also on the note of ramp rate, i have tryed shoot out mode and non shoot out mode, 100 to 150 ramp rate and all has been with in a few kw, never tryed 200 though. My gtr in RWD mode made 240 rwkw at 14 psi, steel wheeled std turbos (unknown if they are slightly bigger or just std) tomei cams and tomei cam gears, cat back exhaust, power fc. -

Mysterious Pfc Missfire In An R32 Gtr
GTR1993 replied to itbmils's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ill pull the lid off mine tommorow and report what chip it is. Mine was in the car when i bought it, but they buy payed 1500 for just the power fc from PVP imports in SA, so i assume it could be a legit "aussie delivered" one maby. -
Mysterious Pfc Missfire In An R32 Gtr
GTR1993 replied to itbmils's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
my software is 8.04a and R32 GTR -
oh i will do that, do you know if there will be any more before the 5 months? my rear left shock is more like a pogo stick then anything. after realising i read you post wrong, i will be depositing money for them.
-
It is possible if i can but the shocks now(if they get more stock), then later on down the track when i have more money i can buy the rest of the gear?

Mysterious Pfc Missfire In An R32 Gtr
GTR1993 replied to itbmils's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Man, mine does EXACTLY the same thing, maby once a day u get a miss, mostly light load but this is because most of the driving is light load. Ill get the numbers off my FC if you want? -
if the 2nd one goes ahead in 100% in for ones suit R32GTR

Gtr Gearbox Oil Problem
GTR1993 replied to GTR1993's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
just to add, i put about 1.6ish L of ATF in the transfer case, and 2.8L on shock proof in the gear box. Rattle sound i had from a bearing is now gone. Seems to be fine after its expedition with no oil. Thanks for the help -

Gtr Gearbox Oil Problem
GTR1993 replied to GTR1993's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
if you have a 'large' jack the handel on them is a good breaker box when its slid over the 1/2" ratchet, this is how i done mine, just be sure not to slip. -
Gtr Gearbox Oil Problem
GTR1993 replied to GTR1993's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
^^good question because the place i bought the redline from said they use it in transfer cases also (for WRXs) so might be a different set up for them as they are constant drive. -
Gtr Gearbox Oil Problem
GTR1993 replied to GTR1993's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
the box wasnt the best to start with, thats why iw as trying the shock proof, funny thing is it was only very slightly noisier then when it had oil in it lol. Oh well have to chalk that one up for stupidity. -
Gtr Gearbox Oil Problem
GTR1993 replied to GTR1993's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i jacked the car up and checked, and f**k you are right no oil in the box thanks for the help guys u probably saven me alot of cash (unless damage is done) i didnt do many km thankfully. wrxhoon you say atf is fine for transfer case, is dextron3 or what ever good? I have some here already... -
