  1. No skyline of any sort has any place in a sportscar list. It is not a sportscar, it is a sporting sedan, and that is a big distinction. Simple as that. And a GT-R is no supercar in stock form. An MX5 is 10x the sportscar a Skyline will never be.
  2. Which AFC Ben? Old 5 dial black one or single dial one? If its the 5 dial I could be interested. What does the Greddy REBIC unit do?
  3. Realistically worth $6-8k in my opinion. The NICS probably has another 15,000kms before it shits itself, tidy interior and exterior with no rust isn't anything particularly unique as generally only good examples get imported. 1986 may even have the small front brakes and 90mm caliper bolt spacing, plus could be single synchro box. I hope you don't see that as harsh, its the reality (something often overlooked when people start talking R31 values). Sounds like a nice tidy car. As much as people say keep it stock, I'd suggest an exhaust, some boost and suspension tidy up will make it a 10x nicer car as they're quite strangled stock and even a good one is pretty sloppy at 21 years old.
  4. Proximity of the bench suggests it might have been at a street corner crossing or similar. Or perhaps the pedestrian misjudged the timing as she thought the car would be driving at a normal speed, not speeding...Or perhaps they were getting at the fact the guy didn't seem to notice he nearly ran someone over. It could be clearer indeed. All the clips showed f**kwit driving though.
  5. Well no surprises there given the RB's are all updates on a design that was released over two decades ago! Even Hyundai have GDI in some vehicles (for some years now), I'm sure Nissan already do.
  6. Got my front springs (Aurora 7kg 40mm lowered) and rear coilovers (JIC, 6kg) in now. About to change my front tyres for some RE540S I scored from Deane. Cusco cambertops are waiting to go in but I think the spacers they come with require modifying, and my JIC carbon fibre front strut brace is still to arrive. Fingers crossed I'll have Ben's R34 GT-T intercooler and an SAFC soon. Have GTS-R wing, new front bar + vents in my study still, bodywork is f#cking expensive! Really need to get the sills painted white when the other bodywork gets done, the black sills make it look so much higher than it is. Cusco tops will drop the front a little further all going to plan...
  7. Well of course, I'm not going to build that while I'm doing a postgrad course at uni and working nights at coles! But I've read up pretty well on the specs etc of the cars I want to emulate (in my dreams). I'm not a "gunna" about it though, very unlikely it could ever happen.
  8. Oh, no doubt. I'm not arguing with you. It would make an interesting comparison anyway. Oftentimes Japanese race cars, just like Japanese drivers, get amazing reputations for what amounts to being big fish in a small pool.
  9. I'll make a guess that the ETCC car is quite probably one of the early Reebok/Hasemi cars, given it has the same rims. I'd like to think you're right and you probably are. The Japanese group A HR31s did pretty effectively hose the sierras, M3s and factory Toyotas over there, to the point that the only meeting one year which wasn't R31 1st or 1st AND 2nd was one where both the calsonic cars DNFd, 1989 I think.
  10. How much for the stock Intercooler (if its usable) and any piping thats left, Oh and maybe the duct if its not in a million bits?
  11. I would turn it into an evolved group A car, but street regoed. chassis: Full chromoly cage seam welded rosejoints and tubular arms everywhere modded rear trailing arms for toe and camber Ohlins suspension with remote reservoirs No sound deadening Notched passenger side rail for side exhaust AP 6pot/4pot brakes Compomotive MO 17X9, 17X10 wheels with semi slicks Motor: Redtop rb20det GMS exhaust manifold, Inconel dump/sidepipe T04-based turbo ARC GTS-R Group A intercooler kit Good bearings Cosworth pistons, balanced/sized stock rods, lowered comp O-ringed block Dry sump belt driven oil pump Boot mounted dry sump tank PWR radiator, N1 water pump Motec ecu Hollinger box Spooled R200 Interior: Gutted carbon fibre blanking panels for glovebox, switches where stereo etc were stripped down wiring loom Impul 260kmh cluster Carbon fibre door panels Carbon shell race seats Momo wheel Other: Fuel cell Extinguisher R31house carbon fibre GTS-R wing, GTS-R front lip, front guards, bonnet, door skins, bootlid skin Assortment of titanium and anodised aluminium fasteners, CNC'd aluminium hangers and brackets etc
  12. It is JUST A BLOODY SERIES DESIGNATION. Just because three unreferenced Japanese sources have another goofy response to turn RB into an acronym doesn't make it real.
  13. Because its a bullshit comment. Given that there was no longer a group A formula worldwide, cars were no longer being homologated etc, so theres reason a) for the axing, reason b) being falling attendances, falling TV ratings and just generally stupefyingly dull and boring racing, with unbelievably high entry/prep costs. Have a look at the FACTS people. Its not just Australia, circa 1991-92 we see the appearance of control formula DTM, BTCC, evolution of JSS/JGTC....Because FIA had ditched Group A, it no longer existed. Anyone who still trots out that ridiculous OMG THEY BANNINATED TEH GT-R BECUZ TEH GTR CAN NEVAH LOOSE bulldust in this day and age deserves a swift kick to the nutsack. That includes Top Gear in this case, because the statement they made was utter balls.
  14. Jack, I'm interested in having a look at it , it would be closer for an r31 rb20 I reckon. I'll txt you anyway.
  15. I've got an R200 longnose, with a clutch type LSD, which needs a general rebuild/tighten up and the LSD needs plates/shims/heavier springs and so on. Sick to death of it singlespinning, I want my LSD action back! Who would be a good place to do up the diff in Tassie? Longnose R200 LSD centres are not exactly thick on the ground, so I want someone who knows what they are doing and will get it right first time.
  16. Spotted: R33 GT-R - I can't decide if its midnight blue or midnight purple - with gold advans....seemingly EVERYWHERE I go. I swear I see it at least once a day! Could do worse for a daily, haha!
  17. Haha, awesome. My family's always had volvos (Dad has 2 old 240s and a 740 turbo - which he's pulling the motor out of for one of the 240 wagons), guess it rubbed off on me.
  18. Awesome! Best bit they have on those german tractors. Rest of the skyline is OK too And you've got an 850R* ?! * Or T5-R? Nice anyway.
  19. I'm putting together a suspension package for the 31 coupe. 350LB/40mm lower springs in the front, cusco camber tops, solid bushes in the rear subframe, 310lb/40mm lower rear springs, Bilstein/Nissan SVD dampers in the back (hopefully, haven't finalised the sale on the dampers). Oh and 25mm spacers in the back for some more track width (and looks, ha ha ). Should all be in soon. Then it just needs the LSD rebuilt, seems to have lost preload and open wheels even in the rain under load. However the HR31's R200 is the old mechanical 2 way type so should be able to shim, spring and plate it up to be damn tight. Next step after that is a bigger fuel pump, and a decent 'cooler (thinking GT-R cooler and staino or aluminium pipes, 120 degree bend off throttle body layout). Otherwise pretty happy, VG30DET turbo was an awesome upgrade, even with the stock cooler and everything else, much quicker on 10psi with the VG than on 14psi with the tiny stocker.
  20. Nah thats for an r31 local car, i.e. live axle, round flanges. Do R30's have the same weird rear hubs as an R31, kind of square? For an import R31 the go is Z31 300zx/200zr turbo rear hubs for the 5 stud swap.
  21. Stu could you give me some measurements for the radiator, mainly: -height (core and total), width -distance between mounting pegs on the bottom. I'm interested to see if it would go close to fitting in my HR31.
  22. Come on, they can't catch people who drive around for days at a time in stolen cars on main roads, what hope do you think there is of them getting some dude who scraped yours? Your "hard pipe hittin' niggaa" friends will be the go. I hope you do get hold of the dude. Both sides of my car have copped supermarket and uni carpark "rubbing", including pushing in the drivers quarter panel and door by 1/2" along most of it once. Unfortunately all I ever got as evidence of it was the dings and deposited paint. Most annoying part is when I think that I need minor panel work/paint done on left front and rear quarters, right rear quarter, boot lid, front bar, and bonnet, adding both doors really means I may as well get a full f**king respray as the roof is about the only bit that doesn't need touching.
  23. As far as I know there is no appreciable difference in the suspension between 200ZR and all the other 5 stud Z31s so you shouldn't have too much trouble tracking a set down.
