  1. Ok, now I've got pics, here we go... A couple of specs have changed since then (just tyres actually, the tioga front was faulty and blew a bead out a day after the pic so its got a high roller on now) and the back wheel will be different. Oh and the lower roller is on the chainguide now, I had the wrong bolt so it wasn't fitted in that pic.
  2. -2003 Banshee Scream frame, 19" (but sized smaller than most, suits me and I'm 5'10"), Fox RC shock with adjustable compression and rebound. Bottom bracket height, steering angle and suspension travel all adjustable, 6/7/8" travel settings -Marzocchi Monster T forks with 7" travel and adjustable rebound/preload, aftermarket CNC machined top crown (stiffer and stronger). -Diatech two piston hydraulic disc brakes, 200mm rotor front, 180mm rear. -Felt Cro-mo 3 piece cranks, Truvative ISCG chain guide, 38t stainless chainring -Dice twosix/speedhub 20mm axle front wheel, dice twofour/dabomb sealed bearing hub rear, Maxxis tyres -Azonic bars and azonic shorty stem, azonic headlock, Oury grips -Tioga seat -HTI pedals with replaceable studs -shortcage derailleur I don't get to ride it much any more, in fact it was only built up in September last year with all new components including the frame (but not the forks), and it hasn't been ridden since early December. The complete back wheel and the rear brake hose will be brand new, but otherwise most of the other components have less than 1-1/2 months work. It would cost upwards of $5k to build this new, frame alone is worth $3k new and is 1-1/2 months old, Looking for $2750 + freight (we can negotiate something on freight, like half each). Bike is in Hobart but can be freighted anywhere.
  3. Yeah, thats on the NDSOC website....
  4. I'm sure there's something going, I've seen a few large gatherings of older Nissan/Datsun vehicles around Hobart in the last couple of years - I'm 100% I saw a website or something once, but can't remember now what it was.
  5. So not even the LSD centre is interchangeable?
  6. He's trying to corner the market....
  7. Sorry, I know the horse has probably bolted but I though I'd add some info on the NSV/SVD (whichever you prefer) Tasmanian police cars. I believe they had series 1 GTS's , the silhouette based model, however I think they were just standard GTS's, numbered etc - however I am not 100% sure this is correct or how many (probably 4-7 units). However, I do know for certain there was a limited build of 7 cars in full series 2 GTS spec for Tasmania police, and I've had a chance to look over a couple of them. These were effectively the same as the red GTS's, however all are/were painted white with blue detailing on the embossed GTS logos. They have the full GTS body kit, wheels, suspension interior and so on, however the scheel seats are not embroidered as in the red "civilian" GTS model, and they are additional to the 200 red GTS versions, with no numbering. I haven't looked at the computer in one, however there is a lot of non-contradictory information floating around which suggests there was a different chip and interceptor for the Tas police cars manufactured by Neltronics, and some people have suggested they may have had a different cam, though there is no evidence for that (where there was definitely a "police" chip or interceptor made). Personally I am not a fan of the GTS2 in red and the all white cars have a far more tasteful appearance. I have seen 3 examples in the flesh, and heard of 2 on the mainland. Given that there were seven produced (apparently), this supports my theory that the two lower spec R31's I have seen down here ( a series 2 wagon and a series 3 silhouette) which have been fitted with GTS2 parts may have been built from parts of two of the police cars. Additionally, I have heard that Victorian fire departments had a few GTS specced GXE models, apparently to full GTS mechanical spec, but with a standard GXE exhaust, 15x6" steel wheels (As seen as spares in the silhouette, GTS and Ti models), and regular GXE interior. I think they may have been red over grey. Cazz or someone will probably come in and correct my mistakes, but thats basically correct to the best of my knowlege. Oh and series 1 GTS's (white) were silhouette based, series 2 (red) were GXE based. Only the series 2 GTS was available in an automatic.
  8. Thats what she weighs, checked more than once. I would imagine the factory weight is as cazz said, and probably for the most optioned, heaviest version. Its been discussed before, but I think a stripped (ie for the track) 4 door aussie 31, based on a GX, with no aircon, no power steer and an SR20DET transplant would go close to 1100kg, maybe even under...
  9. Oh, just to add fuel to a near extinguished fire from earlier... The Aussie R31 is often lighter than all but the most poverty specced jap ones. My s3 GX sedan weighs in at 1280kg - wow, heavy..........
  10. You see very few pics of the sedan variant on the web. Also, mostly they appaear to be the RB20E or DE, CA18S or diesel powered variant when you do see one.... Passage or Coupe - me rikey very much.... But as for the sedan, the aussie version is probably in this case better than the JDM one, strangely. I believe the Sooth Effreekin version of the sedan runs an RB30E (on leaded fuel with no cat and a bit more power) and the IRS rear end.
  11. Good attitude mate, good to hear... Just be careful though, accelerating to the speed limit any quicker than the traffic is the worst thing about the new legislation, because its completely at the cops discretion to charge you with "undue noise and acceleration" even if you don't exceed the speedlimit or spin the tyres....Which I find a little disturbing... I took off from every set of lights from Salamanca square to half way out the brooker in traffic (I was the first car though) in second gear as quick as is possible to do without big revs/clutch slip (which really isn't very fast in an NA R31!) and there was a divvy van 2 lanes over most of the way, who accelerated a tad slower. So I was touch quicker than the traffic but not squealing tyres, revving hard etc, but halfway out the brooker the cops pulled me over and gave me a warning about "we know you weren't speeding or doing anything dangerous, but you know you can get done for more than speeding these days pal, if it was next week you could have your car confiscated..." luckily it was a warning, and the week before the "hoon laws" came in. Thats the first time since 2001 I've been pulled over by the cops, and it was for nothing dangerous or illegal, just an arbitrary, subjective judgement of speed made by the cops.
  12. Hoo-****ing-ray that the "hoon laws" are actually doing something constructive!! If ever there was a positive case for such legislation, its you two.
  13. Damn right you deserved it. Just hit the acceleratOr a bit too hard and went 60kmh over the limit? One wonders what brand of cereal you procured your license from. At least you were man enough to cop it, not like the wankers who crawl on here asking how to get out of doing some ridiculous speed....
  14. "Next Level" was number 6 I think. Still got them all due to non-contacting, non buying non buyers, Will take $75 the lot, including postage to the location of your choice.
  15. I have seen a late 70's Toyota Landcruiser FJ45 trayback 4X4 with "URAS" , "TRD", and "drift tengoku" etc stickers on it.. lol
  16. Heres the idea I was kicking around... RB25DE non VVT motor -RB26DETT throttle bodies and plenum modded to fit - Aftermarket management (ie get rid of AFM and go map sensor) -Aftermarket camshafts + pulleys -heads cleaned up and mildly ported if necessary, combustion chambers cleaned up -Shaved head -good exhaust system - ie nice headers/extractors and 2.5" system -Balanced crank and rods OR RB26 crank and maybe rods. -lightened flywheel I reckon that would crack 250hp or so at the fly.
  17. -joel- is on it , put simply , more power, much less weight = no chance for the poor old non turbo whale... That said, the FTO's are a bit gutless torque wise and I can get away from one in my R31, but they do catch up once they get the revs up and start hauling, its just the RB30E gets out of the hole well with all the bottom end power it makes. In perspective, I'd say on a quarter I'd get away off the start but it would be past by half track and pulling away.
  18. I heard the dude down here with the black S6 RX7 (one with the big body kit, huge exhaust and so on) bought himself a dyno, was it that one?
  19. Dang! You better take me for a ride if you win the bidding on that!
  20. Sounds awesome Scott, heres hoping you get lucky!! I'll be hanging out to see that if you get it!

  25. Get on to the targa website - they have stage maps, get a map of tassie and figure it out from there...... Ridgeway park hillclimb targa stage would be ideal, its in the Hobart 'burbs. Theres also probably some spots on the Huon Rd/Neika-Longley Rd stretch between Ferntree and Sandfly - but beware its all narrow, two way, VERY hilly and vey blind corners.
