15" Genuine volk rims
floody replied to nitemare5's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Width? offset? should be cast or stamped on the wheels somewhere. -
True Scott, but think about it, none of those comes close to a RB20DET R31 conversion in terms of bang for your buck. R31 = already owned so $0 RB20DET = could have a half cut from an R32 for $2.5k or so, 5spd get a dr_drift chip and a VG30ET turbo + Front mount. LSD = $750 or so R32 Brake upgrade = say $400 for the struts, same for the R32 disks/calipers Chuck in some good springs/shocks = $1000-2000 depending on what you get. and top it with some s/h 16x8" rims and 225/50 rubber say $750. Quick car. good value. Of course the value would go out the window if you paid someone else to do it all... cheers, gloody

True, but they aren't *that* fast stock, and modifying a 1 of 200 car seems a bit wrong to me. So you're stuck with a relatively slow, expensive car? Depends whether its the style or the speed you want in the end. If you want to go fast, spend the difference on your Exec.

yay! top40 rock kiddies!! :) I should add to what I said above, the Monster Magnet album "God Says No" gets a lot of play in my car. cheers, floody

Hell no, I listen to bugger all else (unless my GF is choosing the tracks ) Rob Zombie and White Zombie (and the remix albums) are probably the no. 1 chart hits in my car. cheers, floody

Umm, guys, just thought I'd say something, the original manifold keeps being referred to as "stock extractors". They aren't, the original one is just a cast iron exhaust manifold. Extractors are as the Coby ones- e.g tubular, better flow than stock. Actualy, "Tube Headers" is more accurate as a term, as extractors are really only a particular design of tubular headers which act to "extract" gas from the cylinder by clever use of cylinder pulses. cheers, floody

pulsar? huh? R31skylineclub dude! R31 SKYLINES!!! -
Hmm, I think GTS2's look different...... I think Nissan SVD's bodykit designer may well have been one of Darth Vader's stormtroopers... But thats me. I saw one in full white, and that looked awesome. Yes, it was a GTS2 not a GTS1, full GTS2 spec, I believe it was an ex interceptor car. cheers, floody

Stuff you would buy if you went to Japan...
floody replied to king_kw13's topic in General Automotive Discussion
We'll see, won't be until 2005 at this stage though, still got 6 months left of my degree next year. Not a bad idea though cheers, floody -

Register on the forum at http://www.r31skylineclub.com/forum I guarantee that somebody will buy them on there, they are one of the few easy to get rims that fits on an r31. cheers, floody -

Cool, thanks Muz. Yeah More than likely I'll be over there for 1-2 years depending whether I can get work for the second year. I'll check it out. -
Why don't you leave an offer and your number under the windcreen wipers next time you go past it? Personally, I'd save about 7k and 100kg and put an RB25DET, manual box, in the exec you've already got, with some decent wheels, R32 brakes and good suspension. You'd wipe the floor with a GTS2.

My question is sorta OT, sorta not. I'm planning on going over for a year, maybe 2 to work when I'm done with my English/Education degree. Girlfriend and I are planning on buying a car each. What I am wondering is, is it possible to fill your car up with bits and pieces? Like buy a R32 GT-R, and chuck a turbo kit, some seats, coilovers, spare rims, R34 six speed, R33 brembos, bits and pieces inside? All wrapped up to keep it nice and clean of course. Will you get taxed on all that stuff thats in the car? E.g if its for my own spare parts on my personal import car? I wouldn't want to have it all stolen when I get back either. I'd like to buy something and bring it home to do the modding myself. Plan to get a R32 and a JZA80 supra. cheers, floody -
D1 Grand Prix - Proffessional drift
floody replied to Element's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Well, why not drift aussie sedans? The later model hypo 6's and 8's are basically lineball on power, weight and size with the larger Jap sedans that are popular for drift over there. The smart wannabe drifter would look for an older XR6 or something, rather than all this "JDM" wannabe "I'm gonna build a full sick sileighty doriftor when I get my P's" nonsense. I personally would love to hear some growling V8's and big cube NA sixes going hammer and tongs at sideways action at a drift meet, amongst all the SR's and RB-DET's. cheers, floody -
D1 Grand Prix - Proffessional drift
floody replied to Element's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
YES! drifting needs to be promoted- but only in a responsible sense that doesn't make it into the fully sick "carpark drifter" spectacle its become in america... I think a national series, an aussie D1 type event (but with more amateur classes obviously becuase the pros just aren't there), would be good. cheers, floody -
Which should i get ? engine transplant
floody replied to PHaT MR30's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hmm, in an MR30 I'd be inclined to fit an SR20DET myself. But of the RB25/RB20, I dunno, if you bought the rb20 you'd have more money left to mod it, if you got the RB25 you'd have a slightly better base to begin with. Too close to call. The RB20DET is more bang for your buck, but the RB2DET is definitely a superior engine. cheers, floody -
GODDAMN IT! for some reason its not attaching! I'll try sticking it on my website

I made this one earlier...Perfect for hauling those body parts, SPL drag exhausts and coilovers.... thanks to workshop-x for the original pic of a R32 GTS-T. cheers, floody

I wish I had a PS2... I've got a crappy shagged out PSX, and GT2, for me thats good enough, all I do is drift around in arcade-timetrial mode ;D I'm getting good though, doing some mad linking on Apricot Hill now..I sold my Escudo Pikes peak to fund building drifters... I dunno , I have fun! If I could get a PS2 I'd have GT3 and AutoModellista for sure though! cheers, floody

What's the factory weight of the R33 GTS as compared to the factory weight of our R31's? the GX R31's are about 1300 or so (bit under maybe?) from the factory If I remember correctly? Is there much weight loss to be had in stripping that stuff out Slip? Oh, and a little off topic, but how do you remove the R31 back seat? cheers, floody
