How Do You Remove Weather Shields From Doors
floody replied to SOB's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Bringing this one back...My weathershield on the drivers side was hammered so I removed it, any tips for cleaning off the adhesive/foam residue? -
Want to lower our series 1 stag a little. Its got fairly fresh shocks and it is daily driven, so something in the region of 30-50mm lowering; local stockists say King etc have no listing for such. Will R33 GTS-T lowering springs suit?

What Do You Guys Think Of Hero Tyres?
floody replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
FWIW I have a set of these on our Stagea in 235/45R18, and I am very impressed, grip is good wet and dry, they are a little noisy, but it's transformed the handling from the shitty Triangle compliance tyres. Treadwear rating on mine is 240 (Triangles were 400! And like driving on glass). If you haven't got a lot of cash these are a great bargain in safety and performance terms. -
Wtb: S1 Rear Bumper Skin In Kr4 Silver
floody replied to floody's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Anybody know of a wrecker with one!? -
Any tyre shop will do it, normally ~$50 for four.
-
Y33 Cima front. Match made in heaven!
-
BTW when I say same size, I mean same brand/pattern as well. Lots of diameter variance between companies.
-
I've had up to two full tyre sizes different on my S1 with no issue (215/50 and 225/55 when we got it!). I reckon you had another problem somewhere else, which was exacerbated by the tyre sizes. I'm not saying it isn't an issue at all, just that if you have the same size tyres all round it shouldn't be any issue.

Still desperately seeking series 1 stagea rear bar.

Most GT-R Panasports are staggered width, many older 3 piece Volk GT-R fitments were staggered width, Modenas , Koenigs...etc Generally no more than about a 0.5-1" stagger though. 1" of stretch will make 1/17 of bugger all difference to the diameter. Needs to be serious stretch, like stick your finger between the bead and outer lip sort of thing, for it to make a noticeable difference and even then it wouldn't add up to enough to hurt ATTESA in any way. There are countless threads repeating countless threads, mostly by people who have no experience whatsoever and are just parroting what they read. If we are talking say 235 or 245/35R19 all round on 19x9.5/10.5" stagger or similar there will be NO issue.

Wtb: S1 Rear Bumper Skin In Kr4 Silver
floody replied to floody's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Still desperately seeking ANY S1 rear bar. Any colour, I don't care, as long as its straight and in sound condition (I can repaint). Need ASAP! Will pay all courier/packaging costs. Cash waiting. -
Meh, you just run same tyre sizes front to rear, total non-issue, many aftermarket recommended fitments for GT-Rs run a slight width stagger. The thing about 34s surging due to worn tyres is also a bit of an old wives tale. ATTESA can tolerate about 3% diameter difference front to rear, which is almost 20mm on a 235/45R17 (for example). So basically one tyre would have to have 10mm of tread depth and one on the canvas for it to be a big deal. Even at 1.5% we're talking a solid 5mm or so difference in tread wear before there's a problem. If your rear tyres are down to the indicators, surging awd is the least of your issues.

Anybody? -
Missed point much? I couldn't give a flying f**k about AFL. So I'd like to see them save 5 mil a year and just have one visiting footy sideshow. Pure and simple. Wouldn't matter if North Melbourne played at York park, I don't care, if they'll do it for $500k, theres no point paying Hawthorn $5million! The only reasons I've advocated Hobart is the deal is underway already and it is where the vast majority of the state population resides (but like I say, who cares where the game is as long as its maximum benefit for dollars). Very simple.Ditch one team, save 5 million dollars per year for 3 years. More than enough in the kitty then for motorsport to get a look in, and a lot of FAR more important things. Nobody mentioned baskerville, the only facilities I was referring to were football ones. Yep, refer to previous response, ditch the $5+ million Hawks contract and have a little bit of footy (instead of lots), and a little bit of motorsport (instead of none), plus a LOT left over for things that are actually important and will affect people other than rabid sports fans. And? If they can cancel a V8SC contract they can cancel a football one. Ring legal, tear up contract, done.

Not at all. 5.3mil is the difference in cost between footy in the south and footy in the north. When I say pump a couple million into southern facilities I mean over the same period that 18 million would go to the hawks...clearly a couple of million over 3 years is a lot less than nearly 18 million over the same time period. Population stats are the same. 200k people in greater Hobart, 100k in launceston, a little over 40k on the NW coast, out of a population on 510k. There is no compelling argument to have football in launceston at 10x the cost of football in Hobart and you know it. It's gross misuse of state funds.

Need a square plug early Cefiro/Laurel RB20DET CAS asap. MUST be in good functional condition. Don't want one from a car with mystery spark issues etc, want a good, working one. Don't want oval plug R32 style one. PM me...PLEASE!!!!

If we ditched the $5,800,000 hawks deal it wouldn't even matter if footy in the south broke even, since it costs $500,000 rather than $5,800,000. Its not worth paying $5,300,000 so a percentage of 40,000 potential football fans from the North West can be two hours closer to a semi-regular football match in Launceston, at the expense of the other 470,000 people. Ditch the Hawks, embrace North Melbourne, maybe pump a couple of mil into the Southern facilities, keep V8 supercars, and then take the majority of the Hawks money thats left and spend it somewhere useful. Seriously EVERYONE would benefit then, not just York Park contractors and Launceston hoteliers. LOL TT-Line...Its all just channeling central government funds, I don't know why they expect anyone to believe otherwise. Lets not go down that route, remember the ridiculous state of affairs here, e.g. Government power regulatory body sets prices, then Government company Hydro sells power, to Government company Aurora. Then Aurora go cap in hand to the Government complaining the price from hydro set by the regulator was too high and they need a $200,000,000 top up, government cries 'we can do nothing!' and across goes the cash; all the while Aurora's wage growth is out of control and we have a couple of million dollars per year of CEOs wages for what was once one company... It is all just smoke and mirrors, shuffling public funds so cronies get their kickbacks while the common folk pay for the game to continue.

Look I know if it were in Hobart, people who live a long way away, would have to travel a long way to get there. But 40% of the population live here. Another 20% in Launceston. So 60% of the population are 2 hours from the football if its in either city, BUT, it costs $500,000 per year in Hobart, versus $5,800,000 in Launceston.\ Ok? $5,300,000 so that 10% of the population (e.g. the entire North West) can be a bit closer to the game on your logic. In no way can an $18,000,000 football sponsorship be justified out of the Tasmanian purse when schools, hospitals, police, public servants and all other sports get the chop.

Stock stagea series 2 rear bar in silver (to be honest the paint is rough but would be an easy respray in the same colour), includes pods but no lip. Mistakenly thought would fit S1 properly, turns out photos lie. For sale for my cost minus freight, $200. Possibly for sale, S1 Dayz rear lip, silver, hairline crack in one corner, all fitting hardware, $150.

Jangles, with due respect, who gives a flying f*ck about Burnie except people in Burnie. In ten years here, I've noticed Tasmanians want everything on their bloody door step; go to some far flung houso suburb, buses pass nearly every house, there are multiple primary and high schools in most suburban areas (where one would be PLENTY) and so on. Go to Victoria, see how many AFL games are played up near the Murray, in Border country, in the Wimmera, in the high country, hell even the central highlands; and they have the majority of the teams in their state. All those places are as far away or further than Burnie. You know what, sometimes, when you live in a regional shithole, you can't expect a cosmopolitan capital city lifestyle! What a revelation... 507,000 people in Tasmania, 212,000 in greater Hobart, it is more than fair to expect minorities from all corners of the state to either make the trek, turn on their TV, or even support their local leagues for their footy fix!

I think the logical response is to kick a football fan in the nuts. The $5,800,000 a year their sport is soaking up to have a team play in that little Northern provincial centre could go a fair way toward the schools, Public Service, medical cuts etc. Let alone the V8s. How about lets have $1,100,000 for the V8s, $500k for North Melbourne to PLAY FOOTBALL GAMES WHERE THE POPULATION IS, and the remaining $3,800,000 on things that matter. Everyone gets a bit.

Novus quoted us $420 supplied and fitted here in Tassie, $320 sounds about right. Non genuine but to be honest I'm not sure I give a sh*t about originality in this case.
