I was really surprised when some sold around $200,000 and even a couple rarer ones more than $300k. I fell off my chair all those times. There were some sellers playing hit n' run with the prices, with one changing price every couple of days by +/- $10k to $25k like it's the new crypto. Recently, I've seen a few notifications where they've been put "On hold", and no updates since then. Steady 140 - 150 Skylines on sale, with 6 - 10 R34 GTRs. These BNR34 prices have made the R32s and R33s go to crazy amounts as well. @junkie@djvoodoo@GTSBoy@joshuaho96; The investor/Hot Wheels collection sentiment is OK but that's the thing that hurts me slightly. Basically, from everyone's POV, the consensus is quite similar on the price side of things. The nostalgia, video game and movie tax is really heavy on this one. Wish they were still manufacturing these variants lol. I've been hoping that there will be a time when the hype will die down a bit, to bring the prices to more realistic levels. But I doubt it because of the US market. Due to these crazy prices, I've started to invest heavily in stocks and what not. I've had the dream since 2005 and feels like it's definitely gone now. Even if the moolah was there or was growing on trees, I would still probably feel like not buying it just on the merit of principle - because IMHO these are definitely not worth it (as much as I love them). Maybe I would feel differently if there were a few extra 0s in the bank balance. Just me crying

Hi, This thread will possibly get deleted, but genuinely wanted seasoned veteran feedback on an R34 GTR price. Saw the below listed recently on CS for a mouth watering sum. With the amount of work done to it, is this considered a fair price? Or is it still heavily influenced by what's going on in Japan and the upcoming US market, on top of the modifications? At these rates, this is a nice goodbye to the average Joe's dreams. Even if it were listed at half the price, that is still a lot of hard earned cash. Every month, the dream goes further towards the moon. Have to become a successful business owner to even come close 😁 PS. If the owner is here, no offense! You do what you gotta do!

Say, if most of the GTRs move out of Japan to elsewhere, to Aus. for example, then the supply in our domestic market will inherently increase and we'll then become a mini Japan / home for these cars (just for the sake of saying). If this happens, then why do the prices need to be so high in the Oz market, where what's happening in Japan isn't relevant to our market to an extent. In the end, it appears that all of these prices are then being driven by US peeps who have the cash to go out of their way to get these GTRs, when the 25 year rule or whatever starts applying to these cars. Some V-Spec R34 GTRs appear to be listed at almost twice their realistic price. I think I just need to stop crying and accept the fact that I'm not going to own one ?

Doesn't seem like it as far as I'm aware. I've been following the listings for a while now and almost all of them having been sitting there for numerous months. In fact, I see additional R34s and R33s coming up in the market and just sitting there trying to get their share of this over-blown bubble ? Hopefully this additional supply of GTRs at unrealistic prices will drop the demand further, resulting in lower prices. But one can only dream. Yup. Have to kinda agree with that now ?

Yes, but if people are not going to buy them at those prices, the prices will eventually need to reflect the additional supply of these cars in the market (in Australia). It's a sad state of affairs when crappy / mediocre R34 GTRs with 100k + km are listed for $80k - 90k, and some even above $100k.

lol @ just water pumps instead. At these prices, I can't even bring myself to invest in a decent R32 GTR, let alone an R34 GTR. The 'value/fun for money' line has been crossed by a lot now. Let's see how it goes in the next 6 months or so. Thanks for your feedback all.

It's a bit sad. As much as I love them, they are going for insane prices. If people are not willing to fork out that much cash, the prices should fall down. But Japan has to lead the way first in terms of even domestic prices being reduced for older GTRs. My dream is more out of reach now - even though one might be able to afford it, it just doesn't make sense to fork out that much money - unless one has dollars growing on trees of course ?

At the moment, the prices of some of the GT-Rs on carsales appear to be ridiculously high and unrealistic (IMHO). Some have been sitting there for months. Is there a possibility they will ever reduce or is it just a one way street now? (Considering US import restrictions etc)
