how do u tune a stock ecu ? didnt think that was possible.

does the GTT smic fit straight onto the r33? as i've been lead to believe?

thanks for all the input ppls. white smoke = condensation. glad to hear it. i also know that white smoke on cold start can be an indicator of worn seals on the turbo. but i'll cross that bridge if i come to it. again, cheers for all the help.

so u reckon the r33 smic is sufficient? or the r34 smic is a worthwhile upgrade on my r33. it gets up to 9psi on a cold night with pod and exhaust. i'm worried about the summer temps though. havent been there yet.

doh i thought you guys were talking about front windscreen tint. which the commo i mentioned had on it.

i was in a commodore recently with tinted front window. it doesnt really do much imo. problem is you cant really get a dark tint or you cant see shit at night. it's definately illegal.

on a basically stock R33 rb25det (pod, 3"exhaust, stock boost), would using a R34GTT smic make any difference? Is it a worthwhile upgrade? or is the r33 smic good enough? i could always go for a front mount, but running stock boost, i dont think it's required, and i dont want the added lag.

it worked fine on standard ecu boost before and after, i cant explain what happened there, except that it caught me totally off guard. as i said earlier, it seemed to make very little power at the time, as if free spooling, which got me paranoid. i wonder, has anyone else tried this boost mod without actually breaking the circuit of the black grounding wire? i dont pretend to fully understand the workings of the solenoid and harness involved. but perhaps this plays an integral part in it all.

dude, see your boot lining, the grey bit behind the strut brace that hides the battery. is that the standard r33 boot lining piece? coz if it is, mine aint standard. and yours look much better.

i recently got the gates timing belt fitted. mine was making a grinding noise. freaked me out. but then i took it back and got the idiot who did it to loosen it. he obviously tensioned it too tight. there's no noise now. but i've heard that the gates can sometimes be noisy. if urs is making a grinding, unhealthy murmur type of sound, get it re tensioned. if its a whistling, then i think that's ok.

good point. if u take a bit off here and there it'll affect balance. not that i know what i'm on about, but after dark pointed it out, it's obvious. lol

yeah i already know about video and capture cards. lol my pc is set up to do all that crap. i have a spare monitor sitting around (with the plug type u showed), and thought it would be nice to have it set up as a spare screen for dvds or whatever else. i saw one of those plugs, but i dont know that they will actually work with an dvd input signal. i think something about freq's or vertical / horizontal hold. not sure
