  1. maybe the previous owner didnt do a good job of removing the avcr/safc? may be a wiring issue with the harness at the ecu.
  2. what is this plug? the line under it runs to the steering rack. wider view i unplugged it to check the contacts were clean, and found it was wet in there.
  3. everything is working great now. super quick. well done guys. the move was a huge improvement.
  4. what is this plug? the line under it runs to the steering rack. i unplugged it to check the contacts were clean, and found it was wet in there. so i cleaned it with contact cleaner, and blew it out with a compressor. drove the car last night and today and steering feels spot on. dont know if this might have been the cause of the intermittent problems or not. fingers crossed. i guess i'll find out over the next week or so. the reason i was in there was to clean this plug which runs straight to the solenoid by the looks of it. being under the oil filter, it gets covered in oil at every oil change. well it was a total b1tch to unplug, really hard to reach, and requires two hands, but there's barely room for one. cleaned it eventually, but it looked like it was pretty clean, and well sealed from the surrounding oil/grime.
  5. ahhh, i see. good info
  6. has alarm, remote central locking pioneer stereo trust grex gearknob autogauge tacho cool little alloys. looks nice. drives nice. plenty of rego. cheap on fuel.
  7. no you cant align it. the stock steering wheel, or an appropriate boss kit, will have holes in the back of it to accommodate the arms sticking out of the angle sensor. when you turn your wheel, the sensor turns with it. thats how i understand it anyway. also, yes you do have a boss kit. your nardi wheel is bolted to it with 6 bolts around the horn button. the boss kit is what attaches your wheel to your steering column.
  8. was it doing it before the aftermarket wheel? if your aftermarket steerng wheel is causing the problem, check that you have got a proper hicas boss kit. i dont know if there's any maintenance you can do on the angle sensor. i guess check for dry solder joints on the circuit board, and maybe blow it out wih compressed air for good measure? this is what mine looks like. from a S1 r33 with no airbag. it sits behind the steering column shroud. easy to take out once you have the wheel and shroud off. just 4 screws and a plug
  9. how about a shitty piranha car alarm? I just bought a cheap car, it came with no alarm remote, or mention of alarm. but there's a piranha unit in the engine bay that looks to be wired up. can i somehow get a remote to check if this alarm works? or is that a mission not worth the effort?
  10. yeah i was giving you info on the 33/34 exhaust, but then realised i was thinking of the gtst, not gtr. so i removed it. lol btw, the car looks great. i dont think you can ruin it no matter which wheels you choose. as long as they fit right
  11. hmm good question. i think maybe the stock rubber intake hose between afm and turbo. but it could be the bov return line too. i cant remember. if you have the stock rubber intake, the line should still be on it if it's that one. otherwise it will be the other. edit: actually i'm pretty sure its the rubber intake pipe between the afm and turbo.
  12. the intercooler line goes into a t-piece which also connects to the actuator line, and the third side of that t-piece goes to the bottom pipe of the solenoid. the top pipe is where the pressure bleeds out, and that plumbs back to your intake piping.
  13. $50 you can use any denominations. 5 x $10. 2 x $20 and a $10. a single $50. i dont mind
  14. does it mount via the same bolt as the seatbelt loop on the b pillar? straight forward install?
  15. really? farken hicas, the mystical creature from the far east.
  16. cool. thanks. what does the other end of it look like? does it mount using the bolt on the b pillar?
  17. no. thats perfectly normal. e***f will have to be outbid before the new highest bidder is displayed.
  18. i'm running FF 3.62, and previously 3.6, on win 7 and havent seen any of these issues at all. in fact, control panel, find members posts, etc, seem to load faster than ever before. prob due to the new local hosting. ive noticed PMs and posting in a thread (like now) takes quite a while to send (<1 min). but surely thats not browser related.
  19. from what ive tried, if you remove the hicas computer, power steering goes with it. it may ultimately be up to the ecu, i dont know, but if it is, it doesnt like the hicas computer not being present. either way, the power steering goes. it would be good to see if you work around this somehow. post up your findings when you get to it. and wouldnt you know it? my power steering has been behaving itself over the past 2 days. so swapping anything out right now wont tell me much.
  20. that turned out great! after all the effort you've put in to share this with us, i think it's only fair we all photoshop some wheels on it for you to compare
  21. See the plastic arm to the far left of the pic, holding the seat belt out. Mine doesnt have one. My seat belt digs into my neck some days, but i dont want to use one of those gay padded belt covers. I havent actually seen one for myself. So whats it's called? Is it standard on R33's? Are they easily fitted? Will it hold the belt in a position where it doesnt dig into my neck?
