  1. oh crap. you're freaking me out man!! i just told the agent to cancel the JR for now... just in time. so many people told me thats the best way to go. i'm going to have to do the sums and see if it's actually cheaper, or better to just pay for trains as i go. if it comes to around 700 anyway, or cheaper even, might be best.
  2. i'd say for 10psi, on the street, it wont be an issue.
  3. direct from japan is your best bet. local shops ask crazy prices for these things used is a good option too, but they hardly ever come up.
  4. But i can still use the JR pass to get there, right?. But i'll have to settle for a less exctiing/slower train? Please tell me yes, coz those damn passes just cost us $700AUD each. grrrr Does the JR pass work on other transport aswell, such as buses and ferry? I think i read it does, and then i couldnt find where i saw that lol. Also, cities. which ones would you squeeze in if you had to choose? again, thanks for the info.
  5. i think he's saying, dont waste your time with a side mount. theyre too small, get heatsoaked, and dont cool efficiently on the street. i agree the problem with using a thicker core smic to increase volume is that the thicker you go, the less efficient it is. its coz the air trying to cool the core is getting too hot by the time it passes that deep. if the r34 smic isnt enough, go with a front mount. the benefit of the front mount is the larger front surface area. it can dissipate the heat much better. you will see how cool it remains after a good hard run compared to a smic that will be really fkn hot. that pretty much tells the whole story. ive had both, r34 smic with shroud, and fmic, and that's how it was for me. but thats just my opinion
  6. thanks for the tips ive booked a room in narita for the first night (the flight gets in fairly late). next 3 nights in shinjuku and then i think its off to osaka and kyoto and ??? what other cities should i consider for a well rounded feel of japan? its 12 nights all up, and i have to end in tokyo for the flight out of narita. we will have a 14 day JR pass, and hope to use it for all our domestic travel.
  7. well i'm trying to figure out the best locations to stay in each area. ie which suburb (ward?) provides the best and most convenient base for that area. in osaka, tokyo, and kyoto. so far lol. ive worked out (with a little help ) shinjuku is the go for tokyo. as for hotels, once i know in which area to stay, then i can book the appropriate rooms. thanks for the links though. will have a look at those
  8. how about areas to stay in osaka and kyoto? Baron, i was remember reading your MOS burger recommendation lol where do you get those?
  9. Thanks Keets. much appreciated I'm going a bit cheaper than the Keio Plaza. I'm considering Hotel Sunroute Higashi Shinjuku, or Hotel Kent Shinjuku. How about ideal areas to stay in for Osaka, and Kyoto?
  10. i tried getting into the diag a few times. but got nowhere
  11. is shinjuku a good base for when in tokyo? i was about to book a hotel there for the first few days of the trip. it seems fairly central. then i saw shibuya. that also looks pretty good. will be getting a rail pass and head to osaka and other areas. working within a reasonable budget, what are good central areas to stay?
  12. hahaha i was just about to say. someone buy this fkn thing!!!
  13. go the stock 3 spoke steering wheel in good condition?
  14. Bahhhhhhhh!!! this happened to me last night. it had rained, but nothing major. this morning, power steering is fine again. when you removed the hicas junk off the diff and locked it, did this solve your problem? my hicas light has been on for months now, but my powersteering has been fine. i highly suspect my steering position sensor is stuffed and that's what throws the light up in my case. has anyone found a solution for this?
  15. yeeehaaa thanks for the tip. i just booked myself and my gf for 10 days at the beginning of june. the availble cheap flights are scarce now. had to take what i could get. $530 return per person. what a freakin bargain. now, how bad is accom in tokyo vs dollars in your pocket?
  16. interesting. please explain.
  17. i got the same msg. i immediately thought of how many noobs will be clicking the link. not very good.
  18. ^ lol I think king lows go 30mm lower than standard on r33 gtst. i'd assume similar for gtr.
  19. i just enquired about this turbo. they dont do it anymore. this is GCG's response.
  20. oh wow. i just made a little vommit in my mouth
  21. i think it should fit. as far as i know, the only difference would be airbags or hicas. i enquired about r34 onto r33 and was told the spindle thingy is the same on them all.
  22. This is what Corky Bell has to say about it. But with a name like that, i'm not sure what to believe
