  2. how about a bov wound down fairly tight? tight enough to clearly hear compressor surge. when there is enough pressure, it releases back into recirc, but otherwise it doesnt. thats how mine is, and i dont see any fuel economy issues, or added lag between changes. a bit off topic, but still in the ballpark
  3. complete stop? no. they keep going. the air gets chopped. i dont have an answer though. but i would be surprised that no bov could ruin a turbo.
  4. Go the ball bearing instead. I'm sure he can do that option. I spoke to him about it ages ago. I've only ever heard great things about Fred's work. I'm about to send him a HKS turbo to have the front wheel dressed and balanced. You wont find a more helpful guy. And he's supposed to be brilliant at what he does. And yeah, GCG is definitely overpriced.
  5. no, far from it. the engine is great. but when you look into the engine bay, and you see theres no more than an inch of space around the engine, you gotta figure repairs are going to be difficult and costly. thats a stocker. they've used every bit of the engine bay to squeeze it all in.

  7. no, you dont get the r33 gtr if you want an r32 gtr. what you do is spend the extra cash on a really nice r32 gtr, with mods, and wheels, that make u jizz in ur pants. coz the year of manufacture on the rego papers wont make u jizz in ur pants

  9. i'm pretty sure its the same tyre. i recognise the tread pattern. i have them on my car and theyre a great street tyre too!
  10. no wonder man!!! you need to paint those side skirts. thats what's turning you off. if my car is dirty, i'm kind of indifferent towards it. but when it's clean, i'm all smiles. i cant imagine having a half done body mod. get it painted you lazy ass
  11. i still like my 33. which is unusual since i get bored with my cars fairly quick. some days it suprises me actually. i am driving and think to myself, fark i love driving this car. lol and when its clean, i look at it, in all its black reflective shiny glory, and think mmmmmm, thats nice the other day someone asked me, why i dont sell it and get something else. and i said, coz i'd prob buy another skyline lol
  12. yep, non turbo skylines are selling for more than turbo ones these days. thats a fact. i was looking for a NA r32 for someone, and was shocked at the prices.

  18. there's only one way to know how a car drives and handles go to a caryard. find a clean overpriced stock r34. and take it for a test drive.
  19. hahaha, well as long as its shiny i had a r34 smic on my r33 for a short time running 12psi. on the dyno, the tuner wasnt happy. he said 'get rid of that piece of shite, and get a front mount' lol basically it was limiting things. anyway, a short time later i did. we made more power up top, and it was all nice and safe. there was a small loss in throttle response. but the thing you'll notice the most is consistant performance. with the smic, sometimes it would feel great, other days it felt average. and i did jump out of the car to check the heat of the smic after a good work out, and it was HOT. the front mount doesnt get like that. its always cooler, especially on the exit side. i cant comment on the stealth type fmic though. mine is the regular in one side, out the other.
  20. and the mechanic who told you a highflow is the same as the stock turbo is a simpleton the highflow is an upgrade. will give you more power, can handle more boost, etc etc.

  22. the black looks good i dont think there are really any other colours to go for unless you want to be 'different' lol. then its off to the lime green or pink section
