actually, he's right. the guys with 200k to blow on a car, often go ahead and void their warranties by modding to their tastes. seen it plenty of times. doesnt phase them a bit. if you're gonna be fragile about a 200k car, then you cant really afford it

why dont you just buy a turbo tech boost controller from ebay. after my electronic boost controller started playing up, i put my old turbo tech back in. its great. easy to adjust, always holds boost. you cant go wrong for ~$30. and then you eliminate the boost solenoid all together. if you think your solenoid is playing up, and you still want to replace it, PM me. I have a spare one here for R33, but i think theyre the same.

this happened to me when i first got my r33. did the mod and boost spiked to almost 20psi, for a brief second. i went hunting around and found that my ecu had an electronic boost control module that i was unaware of. check to see if you have anything else controlling your boost. and obviously, triple check that you've done the mod correctly

i'm using a VDO boost gauge right now. got it off ebay for about $30. works well

the 335i is fairly quick in stock form. i drove my mate's one. then i drove it after he installed a Burger Motorsports chip via mail from the states. 32psi, completely stock, besides the chip and a tubular pod filter. this thing is an absolute beast. estimated 300+rwkw by Burger. (i have repeatedly urged him to get on a dyno for saftey's sake). the power just pours on and on. and still, theres no telling its turbo. feels like a big ass NA. but theres no limited slip diff on these. open wheeler only. strange. i recommend you talk your dad into getting one of these chips

you may find that your missfire is caused by the 1.1mm gap. If you were to put 0.8mm gapped plugs in there, the problem might well be solved. if you can run a 1.1 gap on the new coils without missfire, that's ideal. generally, the larger gap you can maintain, the better the combustion. ie, bigger bang. if you need to run 0.8 to avoid missfire, thats fine, and very common. going lower than that is generally something to avoid.

i'm surprised that you'd share this outdated view. its been flogged to death on here. countless 33's are making over 200rwkw on stock turbo. 12psi - exhaust - tune - cooler. fairly simple formula. its nothing special as far as i can tell.

i'm liking the orange. but in a nicer shade. a bit brighter, and not so brown/dull.

its not my thing, but its not THAT bad. dont listen to all these girls do what you want. if the car was black or white, i think the green would look alot better. try some shades of orange. might go better with the silver

problem solved. it was a missfire. the problem was old plugs that were gapped to 1.1 we put new plugs in, gapped to 0.8. now its smooth all the way to redline. smiles all round

Khumo KU31 spt i have these on my rears. i'm very happy with them. they'd have to be the best value for money. especially on a street car. go to tempe tyres, and get them to do you a good cash deal on a pair. i was very pleased with the price they did the 265/18's for.

used stock turbo would be your best bet in that case. maybe an r34 item.
