  1. its a unichip, with boost control module. (before anyone asks why i chose unichip...i didnt. it was on the car, and ive found it to be rather damn good when tuned properly by my tuner who has extensive experience with these....*deep breath*...) and yeah the 34smic was flushed and reflushed by me before fitting, and was in good condition. so it was clean in all respects. my tuner told me to get a front mount, and bring it back for a tune afterwards. i said do i need another tune really? and he said, yeah of course, its totally worth it. he hasnt mislead me before, so i'm assuming theres some benefit to be had. just wondering what experiences you guys had.
  2. its gone from an r34 smic to a front mount 600x300. yes it has an aftermarket ecu
  3. its true i also give very little shit for the sound, so i ordered the cap from gfb to block the fuccker off. i remember driving a 300zx with twin super dooper trumpet ultra mega farkoff bovs. i was over it in 20 mins. i mean even at 2k it was going AAAAAPPSHCOOOO. enough already, i just wanna drive.
  4. I just installed a front mount intercooler. R33gtst. I'm booked in for a tune this arvo. I had the car tuned a few months ago when i put the new exhaust on. I changed it from a 3 inch bitsa, to a full stainless 3 inch with much better cat. That was well worth it. More power everywhere, and increased response and midrange. I'm wondering how beneficial a tune is if the only change is a front mount (upgraded from r34 smic). Currently the car feels pretty much the same as before the front mount, so it's not really lacking.
  5. if you really want the psssht, try full atmo on a hybrid type bov. if it gives you trouble in full atmo (which plenty of skylines run without issue) then go 50/50. you should be fine. if that fails, you can always set it up as fully plumbed. for the guy that asked earlier how its done: fully plumbed = block one side, attached other to recirc hose. 50/50 = trumpet on one side, other side to recirc hose. fully atmo = block recirc, use 1 or 2 trumpets on bov here's mine 50/50 fully plumbed back, as it is now, . the trumpet is replaced with a supplied cap from GFB btw, if it didnt come with the car, i highly doubt i would've needed or bought it.
  6. lol check the date of the original post
  7. theres a sticker under your bonnet that tells you what idle should be. i think it's 700 +/- 50 from memory mine idles at 700. edit: it's 650 +/- 50
  8. GFB Hybrid bov does exactly what you asked for. I've got one, but ive got mine plumbed back entirely. I dont like the pssshht lol. I used to have it 50/50 plumbed and atmo. The car stalled a few times over months it was like this, usually under hard braking.
  9. lol. depends on the bar too i guess. does yours have a huge opening for the cooler? also, i hung my cooler from a single bracket in the centre, off my radiator support. the ones with the 2 mounting points that bolt up to the reo, sit alot more forward, so would require alot more cutting of the reo bar. i managed to squeeze a cold air intake pipe just above the cooler piping in the passenger side opening (it's the blue rectangle-ish thing). i wish there was more room, but thats all i've got to work with there. better than nothing i guess.
  10. thanks man the reo bar was easy. i just cut 2 small wedges out of each side of the bottom section. after i sprayed it black, you wouldnt even notice it's been cut. the front bar needed a bit more attention around the cooler piping, but all in all, it was just a matter of patience.
  11. in stock form, the 33 gtr doesnt look that good. too high, wheels not wide enough. but that goes for most cars. when u see a 33gtr that's been lowered, a bit of camber, and those guards filled up with wide tyres, oh man they look hot. such a wide aggressive stance.
  12. fitted the cooler. drives nice. no added lag. still as responsive. feels like it pulls a bit harder. i'm thinking it'll benefit from another tune. what do you guys think? here's how it turned out.
  13. I fitted the front mount and took it for a drive tonight. It's raining though, so nothing crazy. All seems good. I didnt notice any extra lag. It does make more noises now lol. And it seems to pull well, so no complaints there. Just wondering if a tune is recommended after the install. My tuner told me i'd definately need one. I know it was a huge benefit after exhaust mods. So i'm pretty much planning on getting it tuned. What are your experiences?
  14. Item: R34 side mount intercooler, with shroud and some piping. Condition: good condition Price: $200 ono To Fit: Everyone knows this is an excellent upgrade over a stock R33 cooler. I fitted it to my car a while ago, and it's been great. Even in the hotter temps lately, it seems to be keeping up fine. The shroud makes a huge difference, forcing the air through the cooler. Location:Sydney Contact:PM or post here Comments: Pick up preffered. I could probably post it .....if i really had to
