  1. I've seen it mentioned that you can check your coilpacks with a multimeter to see if they fall into certain tolerances. ie healthy or not. Can anyone expand on this? How exactly is it done? I want to identify which pack/s are suspect.
  2. so that thermo fan actually kicks in to control engine temps??? i thought it was purely for the aircon
  3. yeah i believe it will come on with aircon when required. on a side note, what happens when you put a fmic in front of that temp probe? does it see temps as hotter and therefore turn on more readily? any adverse affects?
  4. dyno numbers, temps, settings etc aside... there was an immediately noticeable midrange gain when driving it right after the tune get my point? thats not something you can fudge on the dyno
  5. lol @ stickerflex 2 posts up. ppl call that shit the weirdest names. i heard, (but i dont know, and so i'm asking) that if you remove the coil cover, or i guess vent it, there is a risk of dirt, dust, and crap getting into the timing belt enclosure thru the vents on the back of it, that face into the coil valley. is this possibly a problem?
  6. i replaced mine after the motor died for $20. look in wrecking r33 posts. no one is gonna charge $75 for a used aerial assembly.
  7. i had a similar experience. went from an xforce ceramic high flow cat to a stainless internal highER flowing cat. my tuner also said he got more power coz of less restriction. there was an immediately noticeable midrange gain when driving it right after the tune. if you ask me, it makes a substantial difference.
  8. dont be too surprised when you find out it drives like a piece of crap, the interior feels like cheap shit, and besides the awesome look, you're left with a typical amercian heap of junk. thats all i'd expect from them anyway.
  9. no, R33 S2 and S1 intercoolers are the same R34 is larger
  10. everything you need to know, plus more http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t69501.html
  11. i'd be pissed off too. when you look at it realistically, you dont buy a slide oil cooled bush bearing turbo for it to cost you the equivalent of a HKS turbo in repairs, shipping, labour, and the general stuff around. seems to me you got shafted here. not taking sides. in fact i hate joe have you asked for a full refund?
  12. rx7 - s15 - 300zx
  13. lol true. did it to be 'different', just translates to 'special'...in the head.
  14. dooooooooooood thats gross NO ANIMALS IN SKYLINE PREEEZ that includes fat drunk chicks anyway for 599 a pair, these leather seats look pretty good
  15. that's such a typical story. so many rip off tuners around. i recommend C&V Performance at caringbah. i've used them. they know their shit. and they really look after their customers cars. also, they dont charge like a wounded bull. and if they quote you a price, and run overtime, they stick to the agreed price. obviously this is my personal experience. i'm very happy with them.
  16. BKR7E i'm gonna try these. but is 7 too much of a cold plug? Would 6 be better for just over 200rwkw ?
  17. lol that made no sense at all if you mean, will a stock cat bolt up to a 3 inch exhaust. yes it will. the flange holes will line up
  18. try searching in http://www.truelocal.com.au/index.do
  19. did u plumb it back? or leave it atmo? atmo will give you issues alot of the time. it did on mine to a degree. occasianally stalled, idle was a bit tempremental, and the psshhht gave me the shits. i plumbed it back, no more problems. edit: i've got the GFB hybrid bov
  20. ive got one. works great so far. the stainless internals should far outlast the ceramic cats. but ive heard some bad stories about catco metalcats in particular, and have seen some melted ones at a workshop.
  21. well done mate my guess was 251.2rwkw so thats what i wanna see on 16psi...................right !?!?!? and yes, i believe you'll have no problems with the new bov. GFB bovs are very decent. a gtr bov probably would have done the job too.
  22. i wouldnt bet on the accuracy of the stock boost gauge
  23. get on a dyno or borrow another gauge, and run them both off the same line and see if they give the same reading
  24. fair enough. well i guess 251.2rwkw
  25. i would have thought you'd get more than 209rwkw with a highflow on 13psi i'd guess 240 -250 on the new setup, but now i'm not confident with your tuner
