  1. its possibly the split dump causing the problem. ive already heard of a few others having this issue. there can be turbulence and backpressure in the wastegate pipe, coz its so narrow. i went with a bellmouth. no problems.
  2. what are your plug gaps right now? dont forget, if you wanna boost, even to 10psi, you need 0.8mm gaps. standard spec is 1.1mm it may well be ecu, but this is a cheap way to eliminate at least the coils as the issue.
  3. theres a high chance it's not r&r. its probably the stock ecu running the mixtures way too rich. or the coil/spark issue that is very common. ppl seem to brand everything r&r around here, but on 10psi, i dont think so here's a pic of my coils, they're drying right now. i started getting a miss at 12 psi as you can see i covered the whole underside, just to cover my ass. i also cleaned the contact area, thats bright gold now. it was a very dull grey before. make sure you only use selleys 401 silicone. check this thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;hl=coilpack
  4. if you're talking about the catco metalcat, i'm not surpirsed. have heard bad things about them, and have seen 2 with melted internals recently.
  5. just some more info for you i fitted a nice highflow stainless internal cat yesterday. its 50,000 times better than the xforce highflow ceramic. seriously, more response, more power everwhere. although i did get a retune and new dump. but my tuner agreed, the cat made a big difference.
  6. omfg i lol'd still lol'n now and now you're mental
  7. Ive got this 3 inch exhaust off my R33. I just replaced it with a stainless one. $200 ono. dont be shy, i'm open to offers. > Stock dump pipe > 3 inch front pipe > Stock cat (has had the sensor bung cut out to use in my new cat, you can weld it up, or chuck it out ) > 3 inch cat back (quite straight, good flow) > Stainless cannon (3'in, 4'out). this is custom and quite straight, so the cat doesnt sit in the factory location. therefore this cat back wont line up with a front section that sits in the factory location. you need to use this front pipe with it or add a bend to the catback. of course the factory dump can be replaced with a 3 inch dump, but not a dump/front single pipe. eg: this is what it looked like and sounded like on my car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUxaiJVID18 pics: $200 ono. pick-up Sydney
  8. yeah drivetrain drains about 60kw roughly.
  9. on my first tune, i asked the tuner if i could come into the dyno room coz its all new to me. he said they usually dont allow that, insurance/safety reasons, but he let me anyway, as long as i stayed in front of the car during the runs. he even showed me around the equipment etc. i asked 100 questions. he didnt mind. i think its important to see it all at least once, as it gives you some faith in the tuner, and the whole process.
  10. ive always liked gunmetal. looks hot in person. love black too. but if i was you, i'd leave it the way it is. spend the cash elsewhere. it doesnt need new paint.
  11. where does it drain to? is there a drain hole somewhere in the rear quater? you have pm
  12. ok, i checked the voltages........finally, and i got 12v constant at one point, 12v on ignition at another 2 points, and 12v on 'tuner' at another point. looks like the antenna is stuffed. i havent tracked one down yet. can you answer these 2 questions for me? (refer to pic) cheers.
  13. nahhhh....what ? like this?
  14. i worked out their secret cat saliva
  15. dude ... citroen
  16. not good enough still shits me
  17. emergency brake in the driver's footwell. why are they starting this stupid trend again? column shift auto in new cars. again..why?
  18. even a stock cat will see you thru to 200kw, but is it performing as well as it can? remember, the cat will most likely be the limiting factor in your exhaust. like i said, i'm sure there are many using the ceramic xforce without issue, but i personally didnt like it. when the guys on here told me to pay more for a better cat, i said pffft. now i'm getting a better cat lol. yes they are interchangable.
  19. if you have a 3.5 inch exhaust, then the cat is probably going to be the biggest restriction. ie a high flowing cat wont be wasted on your setup. my personal opinion on the xforce ceramic cheapie: i didnt like it. it seemed to cause turbulence or something. introduced crazy drone too, on my system anyway. i took it off.
  20. but straight thru muffler, and normal (commodore eg) muffler are very different things.
  21. sometimes poor quality chinese tyres can cause this too
