why is the cat earthed? it looks like a compliance type cat, 2.5inch a straight through muffler, ie a resonator, wont rob you of power. your's may well be straight through. as mafia said, measure it side to side to find if its 3 inch. lol.

you can regap them, you just need to be careful. certainly better than throwing them out for a pre-gapped set. i did my platinums against a piece of soft-ish 2x4 wood. soft taps.

how does this rate compared to a hks gt-rs ? less response, higher top end? what boost were u running? at what rpm did full boost come on?

go with the biggest gap you can get away with try 0.8. if it still misses, try 0.7, etc

chris, could you give me a quick guide to removing the antenna? theres only 2 bolts holding the antenna assembly from the inside. is that right? and do i need to remove the external bit around the tip on the outside of the rear quarter? i havent had time to get to it yet. thanks mate

do you mean the wire in the back of the headunit? will check when i get time, in the next 2 days if thats showing 12v, then i'll take the antenna out of the rear quarter and check for voltage.

the core is a bit taller and thicker. works out to be about 60% larger. its a straight swap in an r33. -
