  1. does this sound like the coil pack/spark issue i've read about? its freezing outside tonight, and the boost climbed to 12psi. it was tuned at 10psi (unichip - 3inch zorst - 0.8mm platinum plugs - stock turbo - R33 S1) there was a slight loss of power around 5000rpm, then all good after that. the bit that got me concerned was my exhaust note changed from a roooaaaar, to a burbling wrx-like sound during the loss of power. thats actually what alerted me to it. so i went again and noticed the loss of power.
  2. i had a similar problem tonight. its freezing outside, and the boost climbed to 12psi. it was tuned on 10psi (unichip - 3inch zorst - 0.8mm platinum plugs - stock turbo) there was a slight loss of power at about 5000rpm, then all good after that. the bit that got me concerned was my exhaust note changed from a roooaaaar, to a burbling wrx-like sound during the loss of power. thats actually what alerted me to it. so i went again and noticed the loss of power. any ideas on what the problem is?
  3. here's a pic for you the black hose is the factory boost line. i just tee'd into the end of that and onto the nipple on the plenum. That way the factory line hasnt been cut, and can be restored later if need be.
  4. Will an R33 S2 steering wheel, with the airbag removed, fit straight onto an S1?
  5. vaccum on idle is about -20psi u can t-piece the bov line, but its probably better to t-piece the factory boost gauge line coming from the rear end of the plenum
  6. nice result but understandly, way too much effort
  7. DOM, out of curiosity, can u post pics of how your conversion turned out? cheers
  8. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...952&hl=razo ugleeeeeee
  9. heres one of my car i did ages ago. enlarged wheels.
  10. wherever you take it, i'd strongly suggest doing the timing belt too. alot of these cars have the clocks wound back. its common knowledge. i know my 100,000km service cost around $600. the seller told me it had just been done, but couldnt produce receipts, so i had it done anyway. its worth it for peace of mind
  11. i'd say boost level and intercooler are the deciding factors here for max kw output. how much boost can u run on a highflow with stock injectors anyway? at what stage do your injectors need to be upgraded? afaik the highlows usually like running up in the high teens.
  12. where's the threadlock when u need it?
  13. i cant believe you are NOT allowed to be there while they tuned it. thats crazy its ur car, ur money, you need to have a say.
  14. coming out of the closet huh?
  15. what he said ^ if you do a lot of short trips, you'll find the economy is far worse because its running rather rich for the first few kms.
  16. yeah i agree. go back to 0.8 if there was no issues before.
  17. lol funtimes
  18. it has a front mount and theres a cafe in the background also...its an R33
  19. it looks HEKTIK ULEH.........but kinda retarded at the same time. i wouldnt do it to my tyres. on the flip side, how about slighty oversized tyres on smaller rims. ive got 265's on the rear. they fit nice. i was thinking maybe going with 285's next. whats the effect on sidewalls etc ?
  20. hmmm here's mine. also tuned at CV 10 psi - 3inch exhaust - unichip - r34 smic - pod (in my defence, it was a hot / humid day a couple of months ago )
  21. why does the power drop off before 170kph instead of 180 ?
  22. i think those iridiums come with 0.8 and 1.1 i dont think its harmful to use 1.1, so long as the car's not missing. i think u'll find with higher boost, u'll require the smaller gap.
  23. yeah the rear parcel shelf will need cutting.
