i was using mine with no hole too. it held boost great. had it on the dyno, showed a steady 10psi all the way till the end, then dropped slightly by less than 0.5psi. then i discovered i had a boost controller module connected to my unichip so i removed the turbotech, hooked the stock solenoid back up. set it to 10psi on the dyno, and it held the exact same boost pattern. needless to say, the turbotech was doing an excellent job. the only difference being, once i was back on the road, i discovered that the very slight lag on changes was now gone. edit: also, one less defect in the engine bay

there's a 6 litre ss thunder ute out there that doesnt think those figures are high all these figures are in the right ball park. the tune got me an extra 12rwkw on an already tuned unit. so there's one variable right there.

doesnt sound high at all. 13 psi with pfc, and exhaust. i would have thought it was slightly low if anything. mine made 182rwkw at 10psi with 3" and unichip. it was making 170rwkw before the tune.

the horn cover on the series 1 wheel comes off by pulling it. it feels like it wont, and then click, it pops off (the first time i did it i was looking for screws on the back, there are none). you'll have a hicas boss kit. make sure you line it up straight when u put it on. ive heard ppl had the hicas light come on the dash when its put on wrong.

yeah everyone hates them. but then u find soemone thats been tuning them for years, and they get the best out of them. but it seems irrelevant to this thread now since the thread starter has clarified a few things. edit: but you cant tell me u'd go with an safc, over a unichip. that was my point, after reading the original topic question.

what he said ^^^^^ u should only see about 10psi max, in the coldest weather, with free flowing exhaust. so R&R wont be a prob. cleaning up your AFR's will get you more power, and maybe better economy. I use a unichip, they're cheap to pick up these days, they control afr's and timing. mine also has a boost controller module that uses the stock solenoid to control boost. very stealthy But you need to find soemone who tunes unichip. most tuners wont / dont tune them. Ive got a great place in sydney (C&V Performance), but that doesnt help you. on the other hand, safc will do the basic afr's for you. anyone can tune those.

from my experience, south american chicks get my vote. and the top of that list goes to chile.....with brazil close second, then spain....thats the extent of my south american experience. lol

ive got the blue gates belt. no issues. no noise. apparently they're triple strength. thats why i got it. also, it was easy, just jap $99 delivered. edit: and you're right, the noise is from being over tensioned.
