    265/35/18 - 39psi 32 or 34 was way too low.
  5. i reckon half of it will be you just being use to more power, then dropping boost down, the car feels sluggy.
  6. Xforce Stainless 3 inch Highflow Cat for sale. Its for an R33 (i'm pretty sure it fits R32 and R34, but i'm not 100%....maybe someone can confirm this) It was on the car for about 500kms, if that. As new. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing loose inside. It comes with the 4 bolts, but no gaskets. Price : $140 pick up in Sydney. If you need postage, let me know and I'll find out the postage cost. I got it from Just Jap. This is the one:
  7. correct me if i'm wrong....and i know this is a long standing debate...but resetting the ecu does sweet fuuck all....apart from clearing your error codes. the ecu learns everytime the car is switch back on. it doesnt have the capacity for long term memory of the parameters you're hoping to 're-learn'. ive been told this by tuners, and other ppl who have technical knowledge of ecu's. and it makes total sense. why would the ecu restrict its ability to adapt to new situations, and only work at its best when ppl with 'supposedly' inside information decide to disconnect their battery. ive tried it, made no difference at all.
  8. afm ??? now ur just getting technical. these guys dont wanna know about afm's, just buy their product.
  9. if you want specific phrases rather than results on each word, use quotes. eg. "apexi safc" rather than: apexi safc. just like google.
  10. maybe he meant no arabs ? lol omg uleh, nassa bought a gtr
  11. still dont see the pics. but yeah, it looks great........in my mind
  12. hey i spoke to the guys at JEM. they dont do unichip, or any piggyback by the sounds of it.
  13. i spoke to a tuner from unigroup engineering on the phone just now. he's surprised the upgraded cat would cause a loss of response, or loss of power anywhere.
  14. yeah, i'm sure the unichip will retain its settings. i might have to hunt down a cheap unichip tuner (of which there are none ) and get it looked at anyway.
  15. if i do an ecu reset, i guess whatever the unichip is doing wont be adversly affected? i know the timing is retarded, but i dont wanna mess with it without looking into the unichip setup, as the unichip does control timing as well as afrs.
  16. fuzzy_scuz, what do you mean by 100% learn mode? do you mean reset the ecu? Trust33, i didnt add anymore boost. the only change was the cat. it gained an extra ~1psi after the install. edit: i should add that there is a unichip piggy back on the stock ecu. it was there when i got the car, i havent tuned it, but the car has always, and still does run fine, besides this recent loss of response. all in all, it's not a huge issue, but like many of you here, i'm pretty picky about my car, and i tend to notice every little thing.
  17. so what's the solution? i'm not convinced that changing to another cat will make a difference.
  18. that's exactly it. doesnt feel as tight/zippy. but once it starts winding out, the power feels fine. i'm using the xforce 3 inch cat. i know its a cheap option, but better than having the standard cat restricting the system.
  19. a couple of months ago i switched my standard 2 1/4 inch cat to an xforce highflow 3inch cat. exhaust is 3 inch turbo back, no mufflers, no restrictions, just a cannon at the end. standard 25det, running 9-10psi the car feels less responsive, although i dont think it's making less power overall. does a more free flowing exhaust trade off response for top end? or is it just my imagination. its definately louder now, and i'm more reluctant to give it a boot full, maybe that's the problem?
  20. yeah that guy's good. i use to have this as my wallpaper a year ago. not coz i like the rex so much, but coz of the unbelievable detail and rendering.
  21. if you've got access to an oxy torch, heat up the cat where the sensor taps in. it will come out easily. get it red hot, only takes a few seconds, then undo the sensor. that's how i did mine.
  22. ahh, i have no experience with electronic ones. so that's me done
