  4. i'm pretty sure that spring is facing the wrong way. should have the cut bit against the bolt, the flat bit against the ball. that's how it is on mine anyway.
  5. why dont you email him. i'm sure he'll send you another ball, or tell you what size etc.

  8. do a chop with white wheels. i'm not convinced that white will look good against yellow. the other problem is i dont like black wheels either. so basically, i got nuffin'. unless you wanna go for a shadow/chrome dish, or something like that. then i'm with ya. these wheels look good imo - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...st&id=62463 ( from this thread - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=140136&hl= )

  14. ok, i cracked and googled, lol. 3.5L DOHC V6 NA. meh. i dont really like it. very family/maxima. how can they call this a skyline????
  15. yeah i saw one of these on the road a while ago, and it threw me. didnt know it was a skyline till i saw the badge. looks more like the new maxima or something. what engines do these have? turbo? i know i could google it, but meh.
  16. try ebay. the car might not actually sell on bids, but you will get interested parties contacting you, inspecting the car etc. i've sold a few thru ebay, but always as a private sale outside of ebay bidding. costs you about 5 bucks to list it.
  17. i dont need to touch my timing. the car runs great. idles happily at 750, doesnt miss or flatspot (knock on wood), and is already advanced slightly, probably due to the tune on the unichip which came with the car. i might clean the aac when i get a chance. i came across the DIY just the other day.
  18. what is your idle rpm set at? the other day i was at a tuner's shop, and he had a look on consult, no errors, everything was fine, except the rpm was 750 instead of standard 650. he put it down to 650. the car almost stalled when i drove out, then it was playing up alot on the drive home. i got home, set it back to ~750, no probs. i'm sure your problem's not that simple. but i didnt expect it to behave like that just because of idle rpm.
  19. as long as the results are roughly at those guides. mine came back at 0.31k. if you go for a decent drive so you know ur engine is well and truly warm, and then you get a crazy high reading, then i'd look into it.
  20. here's how you check the temp sensor (courtesy of RB30-POWER). i did this recently. Two ways you can check it. Firstly by disconnecting the plug and using a multimeter measure the resistance across the two terminals at the different water temps. Spec is 20deg 2.5k ohm 80deg 0.3k ohm EDIT: i'll just clarify. do this with the engine/ignition off. dead cold is around 20deg - normal running temp is around 80deg. I didnt use the following method. Second way is to measure the voltage between ecu pin 28 and earth at the different water temps. Spec is 20deg 3V 80deg 1V As long as the test results are somewhere close to the spec it isn't faulty.
  21. fair enough, if they're the same kind of quality, i agree.
  22. damn you Shell !!!! everyone's bugging me to stop smoking, but i havent even attempted it. i think i gotta make the desicion for myself, and then it will work. congrats. good work.
  23. what i'd like to know is if the flow restriction of boxing the pod for a few degrees cooler temps provides benefits that outweigh a higher temp unsrestricted flow to an 'open' pod. i want results damn it !!! as for the starting, the car starts fine now and always, but had the issue during the recent hot days. a tuner messed with my idle. i put it back to ~725rpm. but even then after the stinking hot saturday, on the much cooler sunday morning the engine turned over for quite a while before starting. havent seen this before or since.
  24. meh... only looks good coz the cars look good, with or without the doors.
  25. i think he means the air being sucked into an unshielded pod is basically radiator air, which by the way, might be as hot as furnace air
