Hi, I am having a few dramas with my GTR at low rpms. When it is cold it sounds like its running on 5 cylinders at idle. It hesitates when accelerating from a standing start at low throttle. It is using up a shitload of fuel (80ks per 1/4 tank!). On boost it is totally fine though. Like a different car. As soon as it is off boost it runs like crap. Now I just go the car so I am not sure if the computer has been played with or anything. I have a SAFC to go in and get dynoed but I want to try and sort out this low rpm issue before then. I suspect it is a coil pack issue as it has new plugs in it and I have already tried an injector cleaner too. Can anyone suggest any other possible things I should be looking at? Bryce

Yeah I have something similar on my GTR. It runs well on boost but down low, and when its cold especially, it runs like a rex. sputtering etc. I had a 180SX about 8 years ago and the same thing happened on that. It ended up being the coil packs which continually failed (I replaced them about 5 times in 2 years!). It got so bad that the car would randomly run on 3 cylinders! I have heard that if the engine has been steam cleaned then it can kill the coils (even with the coil pack cover on). A replacement coil (assuming there is only one dead) would be cheaper than an ignition modual though I guess. Heat also affects them.

I emailed RAWS about my own one and apparently they are putting stickers rather than plates on now. I just hate how they put it on a strange angle on the strut tower rather than on the firewall. Apparently your not allowed to move it either!

I second that. Even the straight DVD players (rather than combined screen and players) are crap. I actually found that the straight "manual" (ie not motorised) single din screens are OK though. Keep it simple! I baught a JVC DVD head unit and had an "ebay" LCD and it was all good! Sold the car since so cant take any pics sorry! With the price of JVC DVD head units now you would be crazy to buy a dodgy player especially. The brand name screens are still very expensive though.

Well I guess the general consensus is "hell no!" so I will stick with the white for now.

I was considering a carbon fibre bonnet which would look fantastic on my White R32 GTR but the problem is that it is illigal in NSW. I need a touch up on some chips on it anyway and was wondering what people think about just painting the stock alloy bonnet in gloss black instead? Has anyone else done it? Got any pics?

17x9 rims were on a R32 GTR with a bit of dish. 235x45x17. 2 Yokahamas near indicator + camber wear, 2 Falkens with about 50% tread and a little bit of camber wear. The rims are in great condition (no gutter rash at all other than on the inside of rims that you cant see anyway) and are japanese brand (Stern). Only selling due to getting a full set of rims with new tyres recently for a bargain. If shipping interstate, you would need to arrange your own courier to pick them up but I will be more negociable on the price too. My post code is 2217. $700 including tyres SOLD! The GTR indicator is "longer" than the GTST one. Ie. If you install a GTST one there is about a 1cm gap between the indicator and the panel. Also the mounting points are slightly different too (because of the size mainly).

Start rant. Yeah I cant stand those country bumbkin loosers in their white VR commodores with their steal side skirts and mack truck bull bars and shit. What sort of wanker makes their car "identical" to so many others. Country music does my head in too. It should be banned and driven from the face of the planet! End of rant.

I have some on my CRX and they are OK. They have a lifetime warranty so they cant be too crap! They would weigh about the same as my Volks on the GTR (but the volks are wider).

OK so any car theives out there know "where" the garage is? I mean even if they know the suburb what are the chances they know the garage! BTW I am putting in a wireless motion sensing camera in, and as you can see I have motion sensing lighting already. It is also directly under my bedroom window.
