  1. Must have been a slow Porsche Cup Car, i'd say he means the old Porsche Cup which had a few classes. Not the Carrera Cup that was just canned. The "Cup Car" i speak of is the 996 which used to race in the one make series. The GT2 has revalved shocks (no damper adjustment, only height as standard), different springs, stock sway bars, stock calipers and standard sized disc's. Obviously runs fairly aggressive pads. Stock aero. Now runs a full cage. Engine is rebuilt (basically to stock specs) after it had a bit of a failure at Drive Bathurst but it's very average compared to this R34 GTR. Standard GT2 intercoolers and turbo's but with external water spray. Increased boost. Straight pipes. Slightly different intake. Makes approx 365rwkw so it's no power house. Weighs in at about 1300kg without driver. Runs Michelin Slicks. It's done a 1:03 at WP on Yokohama semi's when Warren Luff drove it for Dutton 2 years ago. Now does flat 60's at WP on the Michelin Slicks driven by the owner. Does 1:12's at OP GP being driven by the owner. That 1:35 at EC was also the owner driving.
  2. I can only really compare the time to some of the Porsche's i have worked on (996 GT2 and 996 Cup Car) http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results..../2009.EAST.S2.Y The top 2 are the cars i mean, and those times are on slicks! This GTR is very very fast. It certainly is packing a fair bit of power to make up for the grip deficit though!
  3. I saw that. Impressive on semi's!
  4. Approximate times?
  5. Believe it or not, Vinyl is quite a bit lighter than a normal paint job. The RS spyder that races in the US in ALMS is made yellow only by vinyl. Saved about 7kg from memory. They look so much better in raw carbon but sponsor dollars talk!
  6. Hey, If you get sick of that, feel free to contact us at [email protected] and we can go from there!
  7. Good to know When are you expecting there'll be another event run?
  8. Are you taking suggestions on your next event? Individual classes for FWD, RWD and AWD. I have a very underpowered car, but i'd have a crack at the FWD guys in the open class!
  9. I was afraid of that. I've been keeping an eye on the progress through various threads (as i live in Sydney but would love to see it resurrected so i can drive it!) and didn't think they'd get off lightly. There's always someone to complain...
  10. Check the attached picture for what is included in the price. There are the 3M adhesive backed quick release clips (for helmets and body panels, etc), suction cup mount, RCA/USB cable for transferring the footage to your laptop/PC/TV/VCR, various plastic arms to allow mounting on any angle, the waterproof case and the camera. So it's a complete camera and mounting kit, not just a mount. Camera is under a 1 year warranty from date of purchase in case anything should go wrong, but i am yet to have any problems. I also sell a "Get Started" package which includes the Camera with mounting kit, 2GB SD Card, 2 x AAA rechargeable batteries (as well as 2 x AA rechargeable batteries as an extra), a battery charger and freight for $320. Everything needed to pull it out of the box and use it. Customers can elect to have the batteries pre-charged or not. Some people just want a solution and don't want to have to find individual pieces, so that is why i offer it. I take a few dozen packages out to the track with me when i sell them so that people can purchase them and use them straight away! Dezz, if you'd like a spec sheet, send me through an email and i'll attach one for you.
  11. $259.99 is the RRP. For people outside of Sydney, i can include free delivery. I send my camera's by Overnight Express, which is next day delivery unless outside of a metro area. Takes 1 extra day usually.
  12. Hey Andrew, It comes with a suction cup mount for mounting on the inside and outside of windscreens and windows, body panels, motorbike fairings, surf boards snow boards and wakeboards, pretty much anything that is relatively flat and smooth. By the way, they are water proof to 30 metres so can be used in the rain, snow or surf! Also included in the pack are 4 adhesive backed quick release clips you can stick on body panels for a more permanent mounting position that you often use, on your helmet, the limit really is your imagination! We're about to use these in Marine Biology to study sharks. There really is no limit to what you could use them for! So to answer your question, yes, you can use the suction cup. We have tested them at up to 292km/h on the roof of a 996 GT2 at Drive Bathurst '07 multiple times over the week and had no problem. They have also been tested on the *OUTSIDE* of a plane at 150mph without drama. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] for more info or to purchase them. Luke (Race Supplies Sydney)
  13. PM Sent.
  14. I sell the GoPro Motorsport camera's here in Australia. If anyone would like one, you can contact me at [email protected] All of my camera's are sent Overnight Express so generally you'll have them the next day, unless outside of a metro area in which it will probably take an extra day. No waiting to receive the camera from the USA, if you receive it at all! Also, because it is bought here, you are covered by a 1 year replacement warranty! Gives you a bit of piece of mind should anything go wrong. We will also help you troubleshoot any problems, instead of ignoring you once you've paid your money! If you'd like more info or a spec sheet, feel free to email us. For the money, you won't find a better system! Have a look at a sample video, mounted on the front spoiler of a Porsche 928: And another: And another: He's made some awesome video's!
  15. I'm downloading both at 300k/sec each! Use the links on page 3...
  16. Disconnect negative terminal, switch multimeter to amps, and put one wire to the terminal on the battery and one on the earth strap. Make sure doors are closed, lights are off. As you would lock up the car overnight. Do it with the alarm disarmed, and then arm it. It should drop very low. Anything over 0.1 amps is too much. Generally it will be down around 0.02 if it's good. Some alarms draw quite a bit of current until they go to sleep which can take a few hours.
  17. Paul - For a $2000 loss, it brings it into the reach of more people, like me. What i hate is people saying "i want to sell this car" and then not budge on the price. It goes both ways. And it's up to the seller. I need to save a bit more, but if it's still around in a few weeks, i'll be looking at it very seriously.
  18. Check your current draw. You will continue to kill battries if there is something drawing current all the time...
  19. Would 600cc injectors be ok if i wanted to push for 350kw? Or would 700cc's be a better choice? They are roughly the same sort of price? I'd prefer to run my injectors at around 80% duty so at a guess 700cc's would be right. Anything over that can cause them to jam open, or worse, jam closed which is not cool. Guy, don't push a stock fuel system that far. Anything over 90% is really asking for trouble. The Nismo pump is rated at 25% bigger than a factory pump. Would a 040 be a better choice? These pretty much drop in and would appear to flow more?
  20. Drive them harder 'round the corners! They'll warm up! If you're looking to launch from a standing start, then circuit tyres aren't for you. Buy some Nitto's and put a dress on
  21. A mate of mine ownes an R32 GTR making 250kw @ the wheels and claims he gets 450-500km out of a tank, so more than a few people are getting it!
  22. I'm new to these Nissan things. What does it do again?
  23. Those really are the shizzle! We have had a few of our customers change from Michelin Pilot Sport Cups to RE55S's. Cheaper, longer lasting, and better grip on the track This one customer bought 12 sets of Michelin's. He paid up front, was pissed because he got charged delivery, fitted a trial set of RE's to see how they compared with the Michelin's, and then had the dilemma of trying to get rid of the Michelin's because he loved the RE's so much!
  24. Street tyres? Or semi's slicks? Semi's give awesome grip, but they wear quicker. The thing is, if you don't get traction, the street tyres wear even faster!
