  2. welcome to the forums, if you haven't already seen it this is the relevant section you want to comb through: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/forum/82-stagea-discussion/ I like stageas, came close to buying one myself but ended up with an xtrail of all things lol
  3. thanks for sharing, I'm gonna compare with Shannon's
  4. You don't have to do oils every 5kms You don't even have to do every 5,000kms haha. Interval of 10,000kms or 6 months is fine if you use good oils & filter. Make sure your spark plugs are gapped properly etc. If on stock turbo don't overboost let your car idle for a few minutes before turning the engine off after a long or spirited drive You can take all the precautions necessary and stuff can still go bang, if you haven't already since buying it change out all the fluids & filters including trans & diff oil for peace of mind. search on the DIY/maintenance forums for specific specs + your state's subforum if you want to find any import friendly workshops/mechanics Enjoy the new toy mate
  5. nice choice. Get the fattest stickiest tyres your budget will allow, don't skimp on rubber
  6. That's Kevin's (aka babalouie) Hako, pretty sure it's a replica? Z car belongs to Ben at Otomoto
  7. spotted yesterday at unigroup I was at Otomoto next door picking up my new wheels & front airdam
  8. [_]straighten the datsun badges on the front left quarter Well done Mate, you got a lot of the tricky stuff out of the way at least Remind me to pick your brains later on about wiring up a kill switch
  9. how much lower from legal height at the lowest point of the exhaust? Do you have a bolt-on brand name system or did you get a custom one made up at an exhaust shop?
  10. nah it was gunmetal grey R32 GTR, very neat. The plate I posted might not be 100% correct but it was some variant on 'nismo'. red plates too
  11. running stock diff or R200? I've been reading up on 280zx diff swaps. hmmm so many ideas...expensive ideas
  12. That exhaust is done very well, If I didn't see the pics I wouldn't be convinced a 3" would fit so neatly, are you running the 300zx transmission?
  13. ni22mo out the front of mt druitt autobarn
  14. are you intending to get road rego for it when you eventually bring it downunder? You'll have to meet noise and emissions ADR for the engine swap/exhaust In any case hope you get as much done as you planned. It never goes to plan all the time with these cars I'm finding heheh
  15. Your airdam is the same design I'll get for mine with the air ducts, but I can only find fibreglass ones here. Can you pick me up a urethane one while you're over there & bend it in your carry on luggage for me?
  16. if your budget allows, definitely look into the V36 sedans, unless you really want a manual?
  17. I don't own a skyline anymore 350z is up for sale just thought I'd take a photo of them together while I can
  18. hooray! looking forward to seeing the updates. Are you going to fabricate a bracket for the middle of the urethane air dam? I was checking them out on the net & they tend to sag in the middle so people just make some brackets to hold up the middle of the air dam. I've been trying to search everywhere in aus for a urethane air dam supplier but no luck, might have to go fibreglass but the car sits so low already I'm scared of cracking it on high driveway
  19. Hey Eric I've seen that vid & still gobsmacked at the condition of that beast, I might have to take out a 3rd mortgage to get mine up to that spec hahah! My car is only an L20a but it's got factory efi running gear for emissions, would probably be one of the first efi setups they'd have implemented. Currently looking around for parts for an L28 build but I want to do all the supporting stuff first ie suspension, brakes & diff before contemplating an engine & tranny swap here's a quick vid I posted up on youtube to show the z forum guys It runs really smooth after I put fresh fuel, spark plugs and oil, I think I really lucked out on the condition it was in as it only has a tiny bit of surface rust & all the electrics work beside a dodgy indicator stalk but that's an easy fix, just some fresh solder on the joint will fix it up
  20. Very happy with my S30z & the service I got through Craig at Diyimport (kakimoto33 on the forums) Quick to reply to my questions & kept me informed every step of the way. Highly Recommended! http://www.diyimport.com.au/ https://www.facebook.com/diyimport
  21. Dark metallic Silver Paint code K57 it's lighter than the graphite shadow & darker than the silver. It's a bit of a chameleon colour actually... some lights it looks gunmetal, other lights it's a bluish silver, sometimes purplish silver. It was *almost* like having a new car at different times of the day
  22. My old 370, to give you an idea of the colour combo
  23. Nothing wrong with the 33 mate, welcome to the forums!
  24. I guess I just like clean lines over arbitrary lines & curves The D40 Navara has just a clean utilitarian look, tough exterior I prefer the 350z aesthetically over the 370z
