  1. on another note, they fkn ruined the navara
  2. all good, happy to help. For the record I'm not 100% sure if the method I use is the proper handbook method, I just went from memory on a trick a service manager showed me on a 2006 350z when I was working in car sales, but hey it works ahaha I didn't have issues with my dash lights coming on... try resetting the ecu & see if that works
  3. Hi mate, when i still had my V36 I had issues with the windows after I replaced a battery. Give this a shot, it might work for you as well: * put the ignition to "ON" * push the buttons down to open the windows & hold this for about 5 seconds after the windows wind all the way down * push the window buttons up to close the windows & keep holding the buttons for about 5 seconds after the windows wind all the way up After I did this my windows worked fine for me. Let me know how you go
  4. at least I'll have some new gen datsun badges to slap on my s30z
  5. I played both videos at the same time & just listened to the soundtrack
  6. coupe sport models came with 19's They updated the design in the latest models but I prefer the earlier simple design, less is more
  7. ^ahh didn't think of that. If the boot lining in the V35 is anything like my old V36 you'll have to remove the plastic cover around the boot lock before you can move the side trims out of the way but quick & easy job just pull out the plastic clips
  8. omg! Perfect car & track I had grand plans on dropping in an RB26/30 but I think I'll stick to an L-series motor like an L28 stroked to 3.1L etc. Nothing beats that engine note! I'm definitely getting fender mirrors
  9. there's a small plastic rod that pops out when the car locks to keep the cap in place when you lock the doors, the motor may have seized. Take it to a nissan service place otherwise I don't imagine it would take too much force to pop it free using a thin flathead but you might do damage if you're not careful
  10. So I was successful in an auction for a japanese model with the help of kakimoto33 . I'm currently waiting on import approval before the importer will ship to aus for me. I have a question for anyone who has imported to NSW. Would an Unregistered Vehicle Permit be the way to go once it's landed here? http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/registration/unregisteredvehicles/uvp.html apparently it covers usage on the road for up to 28 days which should give me plenty of time to get the car registered. $21 for the permit + whatever the CTP premium would amount to. I was thinking this option would let me drive it home then to the workshop etc as I can really only get things done on the weekend As the car is being imported via the pre-1989 option & it's a 1976 model I think I only need an engineer's report to say it meets the ADR rules of the period? Other than that a blue-slip & then I can rego right? Thanks in advance
  11. hey Eric are you still planning on bringing this to Sydney? My s30Z will have a brother to play with
  12. Same, looking for a good place that can look at a 350z gearbox. 5 gear crunches shifting up from fourth at any rpm above 2K (eg. you can hold the clutch down & shift slowly to let the revs drop under 2k before shifting & it won't crunch.) It doesn't crunch at all shifting down from 6th to 5th. Tried changing the oil to a better grade to see if that would help but no difference. It's probably the synchro but need to know if it's something where the whole box would need to be reco'd
  13. I think you mean 1998 Welcome to the forums, all the best with your new toy mate
  14. he's finally made his final pit stop. R.I.P to a true legend
  15. I was a sales manager about 7-8 years ago but I've been out of the car industry for a long time now. - Be careful if you are trading in a vehicle at the same time, know the overall "changeover" price ie, the price they are selling the car on it's own & how much they are giving you for the trade in individually. - If discussing finance they will try to get you on the repayment rather than the overall price of the car to try & keep their profit margin up. Bargain the price of the car before discussing finance & repayments. - End of year run-outs can be good value. - As Terry said, the end of the month is when dealers & salesmen have to meet their sales quotas so more likely to bargain their price down just to meet target. On the flip side to this, if they have already met their target or if they get a capped commission % they will be less likely to bargain down. - Best way is to shop the price between dealers. There are plenty of times I cut the profit margin on a sale down to $0 or even in negative by a little bit just to secure a deal away from another dealer as we also got commission bonuses from the manufacturer for meeting certain quotas of cars sold within a month Contrary to popular belief there really isn't that much profit margin in new vehicle sales, all the cars have the same invoice price delivered from the manufacturer & dealers will cut each other's prices just to get sales volume, which at the end of the day manufacturers want as it looks good on their sales numbers, they get the same price from the dealers anyway. Have fun
  16. no idea, might be a plug for a factory diagnostic tool?
  17. sau nsw events are so much fun! You'll have a blast
  18. looks nice & clean! welcome mate.
  19. I have a 2012 Nissan X-trail (petrol model though) definitely try to drive an auto box first as I find the CVT transmission a bit doughy, I can only imagine it matched with the diesel might be dis-appointing more so, personally I went with a 4x4 manual 2.5L petrol & it's quick enough in traffic, handles well for an suv & very comfy. Enough space in the backseat for a bit of sexy time with the Mrs when we feel like changing things up a bit
  20. That's a nice 240z! I'm in the market for one of those myself at the moment & even thinking of importing one from the US
