  1. this guy helped me source a new gear shifter, should be able to help you out: http://www.amayama.com/ probably your best bet, he was very helpful too alternatively if the dealer has an up to date part system (FAST i think) you can just give them your VIN & it will bring up the whole parts listings wouldn't surprise me if it cost silly money to get it in though I'm painting mine because it would cost me $20 max in spray cans & will come up looking sweet
  2. Oh in that case can I post up my wagon if I put dirty big nismo decals on it?
  3. only way will be to remove the steering wheel & paint it, pain in the ass taking it off. how to take off the trim: http://www.myg37.com...cement-diy.html how to take off the steering wheel: http://g35driver.com...rt-paddles.html In the US they sell CF covers but they all have a cutout for steering wheel cruise control buttons . you can wrap it yourself in CF vinyl too but I did this to my chrome door handle covers & they have started to bubble around some parts due to heat when the car is sitting in the sun, It's not really noticeable unless I point it out to people but I don't want this to happen to my steering wheel. I plan on taking off my steering wheel in the near future when I have time & repaint the trim; - use methylated spirit with a dishwashing sponge (the kind with the green scourer on the back) to take off the old paint - 2 coats of primer then 3 coats of black semi-gloss paint - I need to look into a clear coat that won't be too shiny when the sun reflects on the wheel ^ I used this same method when I repainted my R34GTt interior with great results but can't for the life of me remember the clear coat I used

  6. I used to work in carsales at a large dealership with 10+ brands on the one site, became good friends with the service dept manager & he said the brand with the most mechanical/electrical issues he'd get in were the volkswagens, bear in mind this dealership also has chrysler/dodge

Ignore the uhhh "sound effects" LOL I think the heat got to us at the end of the day Thanks to everyone who stayed back & helped clean up at the end of the day, I saw a few of you guys helping to pick up all the bits of shredded rubber as we were packing up
  19. ^ there's a few tricks depending on what you have available. do you have any removal tools at home? I had one of the ones where it has a rubber strap & handle which worked fine when I had my GTt (long time ago now) anything that can wrap around the filter & create leverage should do the trick. as an eg. the same tool I had for my GTtwouldn't fit in my v36 due to the tight (ie non-existent) work-space, real pita & almost impossible to loosen by hand alone so I improvised using an old metal bar & strap that was lying around the garage I would then loop the strap over the filter & wrap it up until the metal bar was tight against the filter using the ratchet wrench in the above pic. Once it was all tight against the filter the wrench acted like a lever bar to let me loosen the filter

  22. vice grips definitely if the bolt is rounded or if there is limited working space for vice grips you can always use a solid screwdriver & rubber mallet or a hammer to knock it loose, but make sure you position the screwdriver in the right direction
